There are a few on Autotrader but the price they are asking is insane! There is a choice to make - take a couple year older car and safe £6-10k and have them in sace something brakes, which is rarely the case with Lexus, or buy couple year newer for much more money. If you need better specced car then it makes things even harder to find. Keep us updated on your hunt anyway. Vlad

Fair enough Artur, goof luck anyway.

Skoda, I was thinking about Superb for a while now but a few days ago test drove Karoq, really liked it. I know people will thrown stones at me on this forum but I want something else and have a few friends who are happy with Skoda, maintenance, reliability etc.

Shahpor it is a very nice car, congratulations! I love the colour! Keep us updated how it goes. I am sure it is a different beast to GS. I am surprised that the car does not have a digital dash board though. Only if fuel was cheaper! huh! 🙂 Good luck! P.S I am thinking of selling mine, want something cheaper to run and maintain. ES out of my budget for now and I was not really impressed by NX even though it is a very good looking car! My plan is to go away from Lexus for a few years.

Climate control is a great feature on the cars and in Lexus it works exceptional, mine is always set at 21C even during winter times and the car does all itself. 1st thing that I noticed when I moved from diesel BMW that my GS heats up 3-4 times quicker and that is considering it has a bigger engine than a bimmer. Yes, I know that Lexus uses Atkinson cycle and is a petrol but the difference was noticeable on a 1st ride to work! Maybe changing interior filter will work for you, but I would leave the car in Auto mode and see how it copes.

ES is still a nice car, in my opinion it drives better than GS - just feels lighter, especially at the front. I almost paid a deposit 2 months ago for a new ES but the seller did not put on a quote everything he promised while I was in the garage for a test drive so I decided to stay with my GS for now and as you say - I have no idea what to replace it with! Dilemma!

This is a second stupidest suggestion I read about in 2 days - the 1st one was about doing MOT every 2 years! 🙂
-
I see how many people are ignorant with tires condition, I think the police will be more vigilant to caught drivers with bad tires and fine them, therefore, it is an intention for potential saving for the car owners but a good reason for government to make more money on fines. As you say, too many people drive the car until it breaks or until they are notified about the problem during MOT and having it done every 2 years is a stupidest idea proposed by government! Safety on the roads will decline massively!

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum! Enjoy your Lexus ownership!

The fuel prices in UK do worry me a lot, unfortunately they only way these will ever change is up!

I am in Azerbaijan just now the the price they pay for 1 litre of petrol is £0.44!!! No wonder they drive Mercedes G class cars! Saying that, I have never seen a country where middle class is almost do not exist! Azerbaijan has the same president for the 2003 and before that it was his dad who was a president - funny enough no one in a world called them dictators! 🙂

VIP event was good, managed to get an NX350h for a test drive (non F-sport) and enjoyed it but was not blown away, may be because I used to drive saloon car mostly, sitting up high not bad but feels a bit weird, just more time if I had I would get used to it. BUT, even during VIP they have no deals on new NX and the one I built would cost £43-44k and I would like not to pay Luxury tax, if I can. Then we looked at ES, I took the one with Premium Pack for a test drive and loved it, the ONLY negative point I could find is the size of the door pockets, everything else was as I would expect from Lexus. The guy will send me a quote later today. During VIP Lexus offers £2k off the car price plus dealer discount another £1k, all depends on monthly payments at the end. ES I managed to keep just under £40k but I all could choose is the colour!

The location of the front usb socket is not very well designed, how could designers come up with something like that is beyond my understanding, looks like they totally forgot about it at first! This is the 1st thing I noticed when the car came out.

Can AA adaptor work on GS 2012? DO you have a link for the one you got?

Today I finished swapping LED lights on the doors, they do look brighter then OEM bulbs, the night will tell! 🙂 Also, I attached today front mud flaps (the rear ones I did couple of weeks ago). Front ones were easier to attach as no holes needed to be drilled, I just added couple of u-shape brackets and here we go. I hope these will work keeping my car a little cleaner!

NX 2022 delivery date

I had a BMW 5 series with runflats and when I changed to normal tyres it was the best mode I have done to any of my cars, its just transformed the car, gone tramlining, harshness etc. The car became much more comfortable and quieter! However, it was 6 years ago, may be cars are better designed now for having a RFT and better cope with them. -
In a last 4 weeks I was in touch with a few garages, Lexus and Toyota, I visited some of them and emailed to others as they are down south. Not a single one of them offered what you have above, they have not even mentioned service plan to lure me in. I even had a feeling they are not desperate to have business, I am trying not to feel like it is personal and trying to blame the market right now. I contacted Lexus Glasgow as I took an ES for a test drive and I specifically asked about NX, salesman said he will send me the best quote he can and it was a week ago - I am still waiting! I even emailed him back a few days ago reminding about the quote and nothing so far! Toyota, salesman saw that we really enjoyed Corolla Tourer, yes, I took one for a test drive and I was blown away but how this thing drives, basically as much as I was disappointed with ES F-Sport this much I was shocked in a good way how Corolla performed. Anyway, the guy provided one quote on a new car (I even sent him a specific spec of the car I want), he sent me one quote back and that's it! It didn't mention any other offers garage/dealer can offer like service plan, GAP insurance etc! May be my accent tells them I have lots of money! lol! 🙂 Linas, do share how they offer you £2-4k off the car and then on top of that service plan? May be Lexus can do that but Toyota offers 0% APR so not much they can take off the car I guess.

I didn't know this but was always not sure what is the right spelling! Good to know! Thanks

NX 2022 delivery date

I hope nothing like that will happen to ships heading to UK! I am not waiting on a new car but it still would be sad! https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a39123584/cargo-ship-porsche-vw-fire-atlantic/ -
I created today an excel sheet with the options I must have and the option that are desirable on my new car, I am surprised I have not done that long time ago! I used to buy cars on how they drive and then how they look but every car was very well specced, apart from Passat 2012 which didn't have a climate control which is on top of my list since then!

Not sure about that but again, I was never on one of these events. I will pass on champagne as I will be driving but might enjoy canapes. lol! 🙂
