Found this thread, similar to mine the issue above. Well, I hope it will go away soon, it could be that I washed the car yesterday and it was a bit chilly during the night, who knows! I drove car for about 40 miles this morning and message wasn't there but later in afternoon it appeared, strange. I will wait a week or so and if the message doesn't go sway I will call Lexus garage.

Rear window condensation - parcel shelf mod
Vlady replied to Maxz's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Johh, thanks for clarifying, it could £20 if she managed to get them at special offer which I am hoping for. 🙂 Tbh, even £25 is not bad for 2off 1kg bags of desiccant. Thanks John. -

Yes John, this is the one I am looking at to buy. At the moment the price for one bag is £14,49 or £25.49 for 2 bags. I need it for absorbing the moisture not to stop a leak. 🙂 Thank John, I will keep an eye on Keplin! -

Hi John, did you buy it in 1ke size? I have one desiccant which is a bit small I would say and I have been using it for the last 4 years if not more, so probably good time to change. The one I have is reusable, I can dry it in microwave and put it back in the car, because it sounds above like I used 1 bag for 4 years non-stop! 🙂 Hi Mike, mostly it is a rear window that has condensation on so I think I need one, it won't heart to have one anyway, I guess. -

It's good it is fixed, well done. I hope it won't appear again. So you reckong silicon pouch is not doing much? I still have it on my Wish list on Amazon, waiting for it to drop in price a little but if it doesn't make the difference there is no point in spending money on it. -
Welcome Mark, the car looks very nice, congratulations! How did it cope with recent snow? 🙂

Welcome! Agree with John, tell us a bit more why Lexus? keep us updated on how it goes!

I am not sure what you mean, is that when you lower the window the water drops on the window are not being removed by a rubber seal at the bottom? I noticed that too on my GS, I was as bit jealous that ma wife's car Citroen and now current BMW do clear windows much better while lowering and raising the windows.

Tyres and snow...
Vlady replied to PCM's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
I have Vector 4 gen 2 on my GS and a few weeks back I bought a set for my wife's BMW (to replace her run flats) but Gen 3. On a BMW, it's just transformed the car, it became so more comfortable and quieter! With recent snow we had no problems on either of the cars, just no bother on white stuff! may be if we had like 20cm or more of snow it would be another story but for what we usually have these are more than adequate. During summer they performed totally fine (on my GS), Lexus doesn't provoke you to go sideways, also I feel more confident when it's raining too so I can't complain about all season tyres. But this is Scotland, even during summer we do not get very high temperatures, probably if I stayed in Spain or France I would need 2 sets of tyres, summer and winter. Another problem is the other drivers, as you say, you can be prepared for winter but someone in front of you or just a few hundred yards away from your home without proper tyres will spoil all the fun! I am surprised to see the condition of tyres on some cars, it would be dangerous to drive even on a rainy day but during winter they are potential killers!- 6 replies

Just bought 2008 GS450h, new to forum, new to Lexus.

Vladimir £150 is still a good price, I think. Especially I remember that the guy did a good job, your car looked great after that! -

£80?! That is cheap I would say, I think most places in Scotland would charge you £200 and above (just polishing)! I think they call it paint restoration but considering they removed 90% of swirls and scratches it is still well money spent! -

MAx, keep us posted please on how it performs. The bag you got of amazon is much bigger than the one I have so theoretically should do a good job. Thanks -

I have the same issue with my GS, also have Pingi car dehumidifier on the back shelf, not sure if it works but still have it behind head restraints. I also always have my air con on to minimise condensation formation and dry the air in the car. -
New wheels
Vlady replied to Marleez's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Hi Marlon, I would use this link for alloy wheel information: https://www.wheel-size.com/size/lexus/ just find your car and it will tell you everything there is about the wheels. -
Uau, £290 is great, I paid £367 in December for 2021 insurance, I guess IS is lower insurance group and therefore cheaper to insure but the fact it is all extras included is very good! Well done!

Terry thanks for letting us know, I have a real respect for drivers that put winter/all season tyres on their car, I am one of them! On my GS I have GoodYear all season and i feel much more confident on white stuff! I also changed on my wifes car her run flats to a Goodyear all season tyres, it transformed the car! It is quieter now, comfier and much more usable when it's cold outside! The price you paid for the tyres and especially to fit them is really good!

Brent, this is a good point that our information is stored somewhere! Thanks for the link also, it might be worth checking it!

I didn't know about filters but by thinking about it, yes, this should be in a system. Need to find where are mine and clean them or change them! Regards heating of the seats, Lexus did a very bad job with it, when I got the car first I thought I have faulty heating element so i took the car to the Lexus (paid about £100) so they could check it and the verdict was - your seats are fine and heat as they should! The BMW I had before Lexus was way better at warming up your bum and lower back, seems like Lexus has a very narrow and low set of heating elements as sides of my legs are always cold and it does take longer to heat up the seat and it does not produce as much heat as my old BMW or even my wife current model. I guess just a Lexus specific, it (heating element) will last longer though, I hope! 🙂

Cold start front tyres weird sound
Vlady replied to Hatat's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I never had this effect on any of my BMW or any other cars, my first car with this "crabbing" effect is the GS, I even went to Lexus Glasgow and checked alignment but it didn't help. It was happening mostly in cold underground parkings, i think I had front tyres Bridgestone. When I changed tyres to all season this effect disappeared. On this forum I also heard that Mercedes and Jaguar suffer from this, however, I have 2 friends who own a C-class and an E-class and they never told me about this happening on their cars!. You can check also this thread: -
I like it! Much meaner stance it has now. Spacers are much cheaper way of doing it instead of buying a new set of wheels with different offset. With spacers you still have a Lexus look due to OEM wheels but wider track. Win win to me.

Thanks guys for advices above, none of the faults were spotted before, the car covered so far 53k miles, when I spotted this type of riding the car had about 35k miles and it was about 2.5 years ago, I am not sure how careful it was checked by mechanic but I would assume that for that mileage on the car there should be no play on joints or in steering mechanism. Tyres were new also, plus i have no knocking noises coming out from suspension or any play in the steering. @Steven Lockey i agree with you, with the mass car carries it should be pretty planted on the motorway and not affected by the wind but it is. May be I should start driving in Sport mode too. 🙂
