Yep, I was thinking about it and worried if I force water inside the door which might create dampness inside the cabin and sooner or later rust within the doors, I guess no more pressure washer use over the door mirrors to avoid all this. I would really like to try to avoid to disassemble the door to clean under the mirrors.

Picked up yesterday Retainer, fender from Lexus Glasgow and 4-off pins for it. Today replaced the broken retainer (it was broken since I bought the car almost 3 Years ago) and swap all 4 pins, 2 on each side.

I prefer the design of Rado, Omega or Tag Hauer more than the Rolex, I think Rolex is overpriced too. Saying that other three makers I mentioned above are quite expensive too!

I have a simple G shock which I wear when go abroad with work. I also have a 16 years old Titanium Seiko, they are so light and comfortable, initial battery lasted about 7 years and now I need to change the battery every 2-3 years. Also my wife bought me as a birthday present 2 sets of Seiko Astron, fantastic watches! I wanted them for years! Not rich enough to afford Omega/Tag Hauer or Rado but may be one day I will get one of these! 🙂

I ordered clips for attach the front bumper to the wheel plastic arch, they were cheap from China, on the picture they looked like what I need but in a real life they are not, luckily they were cheap. More hunting to be done!

Hi all, how do you deal with these run ins under door mirror, I have these marks after every wash and it is especially pain when I polish or wax the car, plus when it dries there are marks!

This is what I found: So not even couple of miles unless you maintain speed down the hill and even then I doubt it will last more than 1-2 miles.

I ordered wd40 electric cleaner, should be with me today, I also borrowed another brand from a friend of mine, in case mine won't arrive in time. Not sure how to seal the unit though to prevent potential water ingress. Probably silicon I will use.

Mike, very well explained, I wouldn't do better, me and electrics are not compatible, at all! 🙂 How the board connects to the motor I am not sure, I would guess via these 6 pins and the rest of connections are hidden, see below another photo without the motor which has 2 pins. You are right saying that the motor do not have any evidence of corrosion, the whole unit inside seemed pretty clean, even gears still have the manufacture lubricant. Anyway, I am glad it works, very happy! 🙂 I think now can be bought a spray for electrical contacts, you just spray them and it cleans without touching the board, not sure.

Got a reply from Amayama, they want 30% of list price for cancellation fee, I did not expect that much but still it is cheaper to cancel the order, which I did. Before I cancelled the order I took car for another spirited drive and still no light came up on the dashboard, I hope I somehow fixed the issue and it won't come back!

Still waiting for any reply from Amayama, sent them already 2 texts and no replies, I also see no other way to contact them! I hate that! Grr!

As the most people Robert, the garage I popped in (local) didn't know it either, I spoke to a friend who is a mechanic for a BMW and he knows that this exist, some BMW model do have it, I defo know that the latest 5 series have it.

It is still working, I took the car for a 20 or so mile drive and message did not reaper and today I dropped off my daughter with child minder and there was also no message, so it worked, hopefully whatever I did it fixed the problem. I would hate to put everything back together and for message to come back!

Re insurance, I think all people have their own circumstances for the quote, I tend to use online comparison sites confused.com and moneysupermarket.com Bal, tell us why Lexus? Did you consider anything else before you nought Lexus?

Just cancelled the order, I took apart an old actuator, checked the gears, connected a wee motor to 12V battery and it works, checked the electrical card and didn't find any visible damage or water ingress or burnt line/connection, so put the whole unit back together, connected to the car and I didn;t see it moving BUT the warning message disappeared from the dashboard! Iconnected Carista to get codes and shutter grille do not appear as faulty anymore! I have no idea what it is or what it was. Planning to take it for a drive after dinner and see what will happen!

Lifted the front of the car, removed the Grille Shutter Assembly and then removed the actuator, can't say if it's faulty or not but ordered a new one. Does anyone know how to remove a front bumper? I might need to do that to put some of the undertray back to avoid damaging the bumper.

Ordered a new actuator from Amayama (first time using them), including postage I paid for it less than £150 (brand new), I am not sure though how much I will need to pay tax when it arrives! Also I hope delivery won't be too long!
