Does the car need to have an Android Auto for this to work? -

Great wrap up. I totally agree with you on heated seats! When I got my GS, after BMW seats felt barely warm, I actually had to take car to a dealership to check them - they said all works as it should. Good looking car you have too. -

Welcome to LOC Sophie and congratulations on a new car.

My GS (2012) was really rusty underneath, main reason for selling it 2 years ago. Outside the car looked spotless but underneath it was a disaster, I was told this is Japanese thing and British winters. It is a shame to hear that a 2018 car has the same issues. and here I was this morning of thinking of getting an ES! Rust and potentially car theft just puts me off again and again.

Hi Jamie, nice car. However, it is still not for sale, sorry.
-
Hi Jamie, thanks for being interested but it is not for sale. I am trying to have a collection of the cars that I owned (I don't have all the cars as some of them were not worth it) and GS is on top, so far this was the longest car I have ever owned. Apologies. See link below, this is not what you are looking for exactly but may be worth look. Kyosho KY03659GR Die Cast Model : Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games I bought it from this site: https://www.diecastlegends.com who knows, may be they will get another stock, you could get in touch with them.

That is not exactly correct, 40 is the percentage of the width, see above from Colin or Mr Vlad. So wider tyre will have a higher wall or what you called it a Thickness from Rim to Thread. 225/40 and 265/40 will have an effect on speedometer reading, therefore your mileage, your car car will be higher with wider tires too.

Hello "O", welcome to forum! Your GS looks fabulous, it made me miss mine, the size, the shape of GS is perfect and time didn't affect it much, still looks fresh!

Hi, the problem I had was never fixed and never new what caused it, all I could do to make sure the car drove more stable is put suspension on Sport Mode. This was one of my main issues with the car, even skoda Octavia I had as a courtesy car was holding the road better. I also had 4 new tyres (Good Year) fitted, wheel alignment was done couple times at Lexus Glasgow and it still was not stable - any move with your head and you already half the way to another lane! I am sorry to hear there is another owner that suffers from the same problem! I wish I could get a shot in another GS to compare, that way I would spend money on suspension etc but mine was checked and all seemed fine, plus when I bought the car the mileage was only 33k miles so shouldn't be worn! I hope you will find a cheap solution to it and soon. Otherwise the car was really good! Good luck!

Hi John, I sold it to a gentlemen from Manchester, I have no idea why he is selling it, as he says in his advert it is a reluctant sale, what ever that means and he says the car is in excellent condition so who knows what the real reason is, advert also says it is a Private sale, but description/photos is poor in Autotrader, not sure how much interest it will attract. I doubt they/he will get what he is asking for it but he might find a buyer even if takes time, not many cars like that with that mileage around UK.

Hi all, found my GS for sale, already! I just sold it in August, for less that £13k and now the seller wants more that £15k! Good luck to a seller! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202211051410767?radius=1500&price-to=22500&sort=price-desc&postcode=ka33fh&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Lexus&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&model=GS 450h&include-delivery-option=on&page=1&percentVehiclePriceDeposit=true I couldn't find my original post for sale so joint this one.

My new GS

Squeaks and rattles? I would go mad! Skoda front passenger door had one rattle on particular road surface and at particular engine revs, I removed the door trim and it was plastic clip broken that attaches the cable from outer handle to interior handle, I fixed that and no rattles for now. -

Shahpor, I am quite happy with the new car (thinking maybe I should go for Kodiaq), it does everything it needs to, I can work on it, bought set of new all season tires, it is easy to drive, just a good car to be honest, I hope it will be reliable. My wife loves it more than I do! 🙂 I get it why people love SUV's, even small ones. I still would love to have an ES or even better an NX, but not now, hopefully later in my live. How is your KIA? -

Hi Craig, I had that issue. Lexus Glasgow wanted something like £500 for part only plus labour to change it plus diagnostic so the bill would be crazy! I found through https://www.amayama.com/ a much cheaper unit (Toyota 88940-30100 - ACTUATOR ASSY, SWING GRILLE), while it was getting ready to be shipped I removed the old one, just to inspect what could be wrong with it, I took it apart, checked the motor, lubricated everything and installed it back to car and it started working, no idea what was wrong with it!!! It worked until I sold the car and I hope it still works! If you decide to do it yourself, it is not hard but a lot of plastic protection under car needs to be removed and even front bumper unclipped or removed, again it is not hard and youtube videos tell you how to do it. Who knows, may be your unit is not faulty, just need to be taken apart. Service department in Glasgow never heard before that this unit can get faulty! -
Hi, welcome to forum. Do winter tires really need to be a run flat? They will cost a fortune, cheaper get normal tires and a repair kit in a boot.

This is a great decision and a fantastic present for your birthday! Congratulations! I was thinking the same - ES compared to me GS will be slow and being a front wheel drive won't as much fun but, as you, I was surprised how comfortable the ES is, not in F-sport guise though, it is quite and has enough power for everyday use, plus you will get 50mpg easy! I almost signed for a new ES in February but Lexus Glasgow behaved not the way I expected from them - promising one thing during conversation and getting different info through email as a quote just ****** me off, especially that I knew what they can do and the money I was willing to put in it. I thing you will love it, my friend has an ES and says it is the best car he ever owned and he had Jaguars, Ferraris and all other cars, mostly Subaru. Please share photos when you get it.

Hi Thomas, thanks for sharing a video and your thoughts with us. I also had a test drive ES in February and it was an F-sport and I was disappointed how it felt on the road, so I am really surprised reading from you that you don't feel the road, I know the route from Glasgow dealership and if you took the same one than you should feel how there is no Lexus plushness in suspension, it was actually quite crushy. A week later I took for test drive a normal ES and it was fantastic I have to say, much better in my opinion suspension set up than F-sport. I didn't noticed much noise during acceleration, well, nothing extra ordinary and the car felt quicker than 0-62mph numbers suggest. What do you mean CVT a touch loud, I do not understand this comment. In defence of CVT, this is just a normal comment when journalist can't find anything else to fault. I think CVT is great and now I have in a family BMW with 8 speed auto and Skoda with 7 speed DSG and none of the them can be compared for smoothness CVT provides, I actually love this in Lexus, especially around town - conventional autos can never decide 1st or 2nd gear you need. Rear room totally agree - fantastic. Music quality was acceptable and new screen is much better than the old one. Thomas, I hope I did not upset you with my comments and it is just my opinion but I am glad you do these videos for us and think they are great. Well done. Vlad
