  1. £1095 but they give you 2 MOTs 2 years warranty 2 years European breakdown I don’t think it’s cheap but not terrible either considering it’s two years not one. MOTs are around £50 and my insurer can provide the breakdown for £130/yr so I’d be shelling out £360 for this over 2yrs so subtract £360 from £1095 and it’s actually remarkably good given the peace of mind I now have. 2. I think Lexus should make a stripped out lighter version ala 911 gt3 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You’d expect that from a maker like bmw though. I suspect there’s a design flaw as mines gone, the US forum has reported a few faults. Otherwise though it really is a brilliant car and I love driving it and otherwise it’s been a faithful companion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Lol. I drove mine 1200 miles from Scotland to the Alps in 24hrs with just fuel and food stops then hiked around a lake to find some compositions for a shoot. Seat comfort is a big strength in these cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Gs250 is an amazing car. You’ll love it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Troller :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Andorra :) Lucky man. Just back from the Pyrenees. They’re just the best mountains in Europe if you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Chain driven and £275 for a minor maybe £450/£500 for a big one. A Toyota dealer will do the same service with the same parts for two thirds of the cost So far I’ve serviced mine twice, once at Toyota for £250 and once at Lexus for £440 but more work was done at Lexus. The cars been cheaper to service than my old Mercedes and Volvo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Honestly - Toyota dealer might be a good bet. They can do all the work on a Lexus except warranty stuff. If your car isn’t in warranty a Toyota garage seems a good idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. What more is there to say, it was making a stupid noise - others like it make similar stupid noises - there’s a known fix in the US where many more people drive this make and model- it’s getting said known fix under warranty and if that doesn’t fix it then there will be more for sure to say. 11. It still might continue to make sense ;) Loch Lomond won’t be how you remembered it - treckers/faux outdoor types/campervans/mobile homes littering the place. Nasty young young people camping and drinking beer/making mess. It’s not all good. Places that tend to be great to visit might not be great to live. You want to go more off the beaten track or to a less well known beauty spot - somewhere between Aberfeldy and Crieff/Comrie/Killin might also be nice and handy driving distance to the good stuff I love the Alps but I wouldn’t live there. Too busy, full of people etc. The Pyrenees-less well known, just as nice, far less touristy and I could see a good life for me there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Couldn’t do Italy. I hate the place. It’s total chaos. France or Spain though and I’m there Achiltibiue though. Now you’re talking [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Don’t. It’s awfully rainy and compared to the rest of Scotland remarkably unremarkable. I’m debating upping sticks to France or Spain to the Pyrenees. Skye would be nice but house prices are high there and the tourists season crazy. Go properly north and live in Assynt etc. Remote and quiet and unspoilt, if you’re really keen on the area somewhere like Aberfoyle, or towards Kinlochard will get you a better view for less money Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Aye. It’s over £500 so glad I’m not paying. The service etc I’ll pay for of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Update-Lexus Glasgow will be replacing the clock/spring housing - not the whole rack. The technical found the noise when manoeuvring the car. Feelings. Great service from the dealership in terms of communication and email/calls but in disappointed that a car as young as this (2013) from a maker that prides itself on reliability needs a steering component changed at 43k mainly gentle miles. I’ll be extending the warranty if I keep it another year. They recommended I change the tyres but the price wasn’t that competitive. It wasn’t a bad one but I can save a good 20% going with camskill and local fitter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I’m just back with my 250 GS from the Pyrenees. I go every year in my car. Biggest run back was from the Azay Le Rideau yesterday pm to get back to Scotland for lunch. Car did miss a beat and developed an odd intermittent squeaking noise and slight rattling/clicking noise when low speed manoeuvring. Didn’t go quite as far south this time inntgus car, my previous Merc and Volvo have been to Granada, Ronda and Seville plus Salamanca, Madrid and Toledo. Here’s my GS in the Spanish Pyrenees-can you guess where? Agree on the cooled seats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. It sounds a bumptious thing to say but in most people’s hands it would be. Previous owner averaged 33mpg, I average 39 in it and rountinely get mid 40s from it. Not recently mind, driving around the Pyrenees has seen my average plummet to 35 but the run back and not even 3 tanks of fuel to get back from the Dordogne to Argyll Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. SFTphotography.co.uk Check the blog I’ve booked it into the dealer - cannot be doing with this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Completely given up on MB. This car makes the old E350cdi seem like a steaming pile of dog crap. At this photography full time pro now - just back from 3 weeks in the Alps, Dordogne, Loir and Pyrenees. I teach it, do local real estate, travel and landscape. Back on topic. I have ridiculous OCD and the noise is bothering me. It wasn’t there when I got it - the first squeak happened in the Estos Valley car park. I had a very similar issue with my old E - something a little bit of oil sprayed onto the rack fixed. My worry is there’s something wrong with my car, it’ll get worse and end up like either of those ones making intolerable noises. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. And that’s nothing the odd meeting with the 6500rpm marker won’t fix either. Every now and then an engine should get a workout. I use branded regular fuels or supermarket super Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Anyone had a similar issue. Very slight clicking noise at low speed. Like this but much less pronounced. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-3rd-gen-2010-2015/866192-steering-wheel-noise.html Also get this one - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-4th-gen-2013-present/870564-new-owner-with-problem.html Again intermittent and not as pronounced. My worry is that I take it to the dealer they’ll say “can’t hear it but here’s a £200 bill for the trouble” but the car is under warranty but only for another 6 months. It’s not due a service yet. No fluid leaks or issues with the assistance or steering/driving the car other than the odd squeak and slight click/rachetedy sound I’m inclined to just keep driving the car and bring it up at service time. Anyone here had an issue like this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. They’re a great car. Don’t know how you drive yours but 40mpg at 450miles per tank seem about right for me. I was on for nearly 500 miles but chickened it at 350 with over a 3rd left in it. Transmission is good with a few exciting features. If you switch it to sport it’s properly sporty holding the gears and makes very good sense in an Alpine Pass environment and if you drive in a very sporty way it’ll actually rev match on a down shift. The rest of the time it’s very slushy but shift times in the upper Rev ranges ain’t bad. Issues wise - I’ve got an odd steering wheel noise. It’s like this but less extreme and an odd squeak thrown in. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-3rd-gen-2010-2015/866192-steering-wheel-noise.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. No and it’s not thirsty. I thought it would be but it’s a remarkably economical car. I got this driving through the Dordogne - after a hilly and 70mph cruise up to the Loir it was down to 44mpg. At 70mph it’ll do over 40mpg, and by 90mph if you ever drive that fast over a long distance over 30mpg. I routinely get over 400miles to a tank and more often than not over 450. I don’t drive in town much and do have an anticipatory smooth driving style. Issues wise the exhaust will rust and make sure the steering doesn’t make any untoward noises. I’m having a few niggles. An unrelated model and a more extreme example of the only issue with my car is here. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-3rd-gen-2010-2015/866192-steering-wheel-noise.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. The cars are such a niche - honestly I’ve been all over France and Spain and in the 5k miles I’ve not even counted 10 of them on the roads. So, those who want them will seek them out - they, bar Bentley and Rolls Royce are the rarest cars on the road. The sales model works for them because they sell F all of the things. In terms of aftersales, Lexus Glasgow has provided the best most hassle free car buying experience going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. My experience was different. I walked into Lexus Glasgow to look at an IS. I explained I found one at a good price in Lexus Newcastle on autotrader but I was calling in just to see one in the flesh. The salesman produced two cars, one at the same price which was older and a better one at a price beyond my budget. He did seem a little off hand at first stating that he didn’t want to put too much time into a someone buying a car from another group as it was clear the two IS250s he had weren’t for me but the Newcastle car was. He asked if I was potentially interested in a GS, I said yes and he had one just in as a PX and he did a lot to make the numbers work. A test drive and a few forms later the GS I have now was mine and his whole demeanour changed when I showed enthusiasm for the car he could sell me. In short that car is right for someone and the right someone will walk in and buy it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
