  1. This confirms something I’ve thought for a long time. The VW golf is an over rated, under engineered piece of crap. Look at the noisiest cars and it’s there. Personally I’m sick to death of hearing about how “complete” a car a golf is and how it provides “premium car refinement” I can assure you from driving many models of these over the years they are a totally lousy car with no appeal whatsoever. Cheaply made, noisy (in a way that a cheap car is an an expensive one isn’t) and generally an all round pile of crap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. They rely on a camera lens which I can assure you does get dirty. The reversing cam in my Gs is hopeless after a long drive in the rain. There are pluses to power steering but feel and feedback aren’t one of them, and re electric windows good but those who remember the wind down ones remember how finely you can adjust them. 3. As a car ages they need more repairs - some adhoc and unplanned. Newer low mileage cars tend to be more hassle free - hence they’re worth more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The LS has done a lot less miles. The 14k really appeals. I like new cars Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. They won’t be able to do a thing. It’s a nuisance but you get used to it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You get all the reliability and service with Toyota too. I’m a big Toyota fan, but I like a more high end car. The Lexus IS the right car for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Or in another way under half it’s original price with only 14k miles on the clock in four years. It’s basically new and as painless to own as a brand new one. It’s a good buy looked at it that way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It says “Toyota” Which is no bad thing. Everyone knows a Lexus Is a posh Toyota like an Audi is a posh veedub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I love my GS but money no object an LS500h or the LS500 they do in the states with the 3.0 twin turbo V6 I know technically an RX would have more space in it and for my line of work a car that can handle a dirt track would be perfect but...I’ve managed without an SUV for years and I just don’t like them. As tempting as an RCF or LC would be - I really do need a car with 4 doors. The LS is the pinnacle four door Lexus. As it were I’m debating buying an LS460 as the current shape LS is and will remain out of my budget for quite some time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. No. Hideous over priced tiny car with a silly little transverse mount diesel engine. Horrible. I’d save 20k and get a Hyundai or find more and get a proper car with the engine facing the correct way with a proper number of cylinders. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My GS 250 does this and my fathers Porsche Boxster does it to a far worse extent. It's to do with the steering geometry that's used. All my tyres and his have worn evenly, it's just a "thing" they do.
  12. True, I’ve got a business and although I’m tempted it’s a lot of “capital” to tie up in a car. I’m on the fence... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. On autotrader. I’m very tempted... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I found this idly looking and although I love my GS250 this seems a good step up. I know it’s expensive but it’s also very new in age and miles. I’ve looked through the forum and not many of these about. I’ve heard the engine/transmission are solid but anything to worry about. Are these money pits as they get on? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201811082252488 Servicing wise I’d be using a Lexus dealership. I’ve found them helpful with the GS. 15. What major issues are there with the LS460. I have my eye on one? I heard the engines and gearboxes are bomb proof. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I was looking at LS460s today. In three years a late 2016 will still be quite new but depreciated some. I’m interested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Some wintery scenes from Glencoe Technically this is Autumn but it was cold enough to be winter...a square crop of one from earlier this year _DSC3877 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr I've shown this scene as a 2:1 countless times, however I came across an old card and found one I took at a slightly longer FL which I probably did so I could make a 16:9 version but when I got home I never did. Two years later and well...it was lovely and clear and more importantly dead still but by ***** it was cold. _DSC4017 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr Loch Tulla - one from early in 2016. I had a great morning in Glencoe and stopped off here on the way back hoping some light would come through. It didn't. It was also very cold. This hi-key processing isn't my normal way of doing things but the original is just so flat. I keep meaning to do this composition come summer or autumn - this year for sure. _DSC7054 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr One from last winter. Again very cold but once the sun was out it wasn't so bad. _DSC2386_Rendition 2 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr
  18. Canyon Anisclo These were all deliberately composed and cropped to hide a too large to clone out mega sized bird hide further to the left. These are from my first visit there so I took a variety of images as the light and cloud changed. _DSC3114 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr _DSC3120 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr Not long afterward taking this the sky got a bit dull and flat _DSC3903 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr Sunset was nice 😄 _DSC3189 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr
  19. I’m not sure you can ever have too much money ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. One might recommend you pay the £320 and have it done properly. That way, should the very worst happen, they’d have no reason not to warrant a warranty claim or give good will if something more serious was to go wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. You know the head rest should be touching your head or at least close to touching it. It’s there for your safety and to prevent whiplash in the event of a collision... Just sayin... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Pena Montanesa Bit of a peachy evening - never been here other than driving past 3 years back and was keen to explore the area further and find a good angle to shoot the side of this mountain. Turns out Canyon Anisclo is the place to do it. This aspect of the mountain reminds me of a certain one back home... _DSC3172 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr This turned out to be my favourite composition and the one I would retake another time _DSC3184 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr Wider take _DSC3187 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr One dusk came in it was a proper colour fest - it was very hazy (being Spain and quite hot) so the colour fades away into the shot. One could de-haze it but I rather like the layered feeling to the shot and the depth you get. _DSC3192 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr _DSC3193 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr

  25. Three from the cold snap on Skye. Loch Cill Chriosd is fast becoming my favourite Loch in Scotland to shoot. It's such a challenge to even get a still day on Skye and the reeds add another dimension. On one hand they can act as a wind breaker but on the other they can sway in the slightest wind. All these were timed so the Loch was totally ripple free and all the reeds were still. These were beautiful moments in time but I was sad the moorland wasn't redder (by the time the still day had presented itself the colours on the Moors were weaning) and the sky had more feature to it. Still, light and reflections were all present so 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Bloody cold though - summer cannot come back soon enough and with it the lovely green grasses and reeds. The specific composition I have done many times before a) I like it b) it is carefully chosen to hide a row of distant pylons I am too lazy to clone out - it's easier to compose them out and also the road and cottages in the distance _DSC1536 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr _DSC1537 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr _DSC4482 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr
