  1. Haha I'll use "spirited" if I get pulled over 🤣
  2. My Pirrelli's are 3.5mm on the rear and will see me through the next year or so, but I only average 3-4k miles a year, differnt brands and compounds have different results, I'm guessing the softer and more grip a tyre offers the less life they have, that does seem a bit extreme for 8k and 8 months though, Was your tyres 3.5mm across the edges and middle of the tyre or just one side? If it's only 3.5mm on an edge of the tyre it could be wheel set up causing un even wear, Also have you been driving aggressive with them? Wheels spins? 😉
  3. Buy a tyre tread gauge and decide for yourself, legal limit is 1.6mm, at 1.6mm water is still dispersed and the tyres are still effective, and legal. maindealers will tell you they need changing anything from 5mm and below, which isn't good for the environment and is an absolute waste if you're changing them above 2mm tread, i guess they are just following the book. I read somewhere online a while back the CEO of Michellin agrees its wastful changing tyres with good tread on. I got advised at the last lexus service 12 months ago to change the rear tyres at 4mm, they even quoted a price to change them, at the next service last week they'd only gone down 0.5mm in 4k miles and put it as an advisory again. Does it say your tread depth on the service document?
  4. they look great , cant wait to see them fitted on the ISF My neighbour who lives opposite has an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, now iv'e seen this post he may wake one day to find his Aston sat on bricks 🙂
  5. welcome Mike, love the spec on your GSF, looks stunning!
  6. that is on my list too, thanks for the tip, i'll start looking into it
  7. everything else in that list above was done apart from the transmission oil on mine too i also let them clean the car inside and out, usually i only let dealerships clean the inside for fear of the paintwork being scratched with an old £1 sponge but as its getting a detailed next year i didn't mind, i have to say they did a very decent job, the wheels came up like new too
  8. Hi all, My car recently ticked over 91k miles and needed a full service, last service was August last year at 83k. As it was at 91k I booked the car in for a 100k Major service with Lexus Plymouth. I understand a large service like this is only done at 60k miles and 100k miles, please correct me if im wrong, Just thought I'd add a post on costs and what was carried out if anyone is getting near that service point in their cars life. I purchased 2 new Pirelli P Zeros for the front wheels a couple of months ago as the inner wall had the dreaded tyre wear, middle and outside were like new 😞 I got a great deal from Oponeo.co.uk I saved them for the service so Lexus could fit them (which they kindly did free of charge). Lexus did all the usual full service items, changed the Oil, brake fluid, engine coolant, screen wash, all filters screen wash, checked for recalls, plugged the engine in the computer etc etc, Also a full visual inspection, they took off, checked and re-tourqed all 4 wheels, tyre pressures, checked control arms brakes, suspension, literally every nut and bolt of the car was looked over and tightened. There was nothing wrong with the feel of the car before the service but it honestly felt like new when I picked it up, felt solid. I had a rubbing noise from the passenger wheel in the week building up to the service, they checked it out and found the heat shield had slightly bent and was rubbing, all fixed for free and no more noise. It was a bit of a relief as I've only owned the car since April so this was it first proper full inspection by Lexus under my ownership, they confirmed the car is in great condition and had been well looked after. There were only 3 things to sort at a later date, air conditioning needs regassing which I'm not fussed about, with the Hayward and Scott exhaust burbling im more of a window down kinda guy. Heat sheild above the exhaust was ripping a bit and may need replacing, and lastly 3 clamps on the exhaust were leaking slightly so will need replacing, as it was a Hayward and Scott exhaust they didn't have the correct clamps so wouldn't touch it. All in it cost £595, Money well spent IMO, I am curious as to what a simular service would be for a M3 or C63, RS4 etc. The customer service and work carried out at Lexus Plymouth was first class, added benefit of it being a 5 mintue walk from my house it's a relief to have a garage like that so close. Another stamp in the service book and a warm fuzzy feeling the car is in great condition. Apologies for the long read Cheers Ian

  11. Hi Everyone, just a quick message to introduce myself, i am the new owner of the car in this thread (GK58 NFN) i bought it a few weeks ago from the trade dealer in the advert. i have to say what an incredible car, the points raised in this thread are not true with regards to the seat, they are comfortable yet supportive, it has not been in a shunt, i have had the car up on ramps, there are no signs of damage or replaced parts, the paint work is in fantastic condition for a 10 year old car, the car does need a full service, but not until at least august, this would never be an issue for me , these cars need their servicing kept up to date and would never put me off a car because of it, it just gave me leverage in the negotiation. i've maintenance washed the car and counted 2 scratches that need addressing, one light cleaning scratch on the roof and a swirl scratch above the petrol cap, these are light and can be detailed/buffed out easily, the lower front bumper has light stone chips which is reasonable for the age of the car and again can be easily rectified. other than that the paintwork its stellar, compliments to the the previous forum owner who i know had it professionally detailed from the youtube channel. the colour on this car is fantastic , the dark grey gleams in the sunshine when it appears all 4 wheels have paint on but looked like there are some minor scuff repairs, again nothing i cant get sorted easily, the interior is immaculate in my opinion, there are a couple of small marks, but you do have to look for them to find them , again nothing i can sort out, that V8 noise from the exhaust is just incredible , the cold starts are epic , even non car people (yes they do exist) from my work come out to watch me turn on my car to drive home for lunch :) at £13k this car was a steal so thanks for every on here who was interested for being picky and not buying it and leaving it for me ;) , at £16k with a FLSH and a 2 year Lexus warranty i still feel it is worth every penny i had a Golf R32 a few years back and was a member on the R32 owners club forum and love the community they provide, looks an even better set up on here, easy to navigate the topics etc. so that's it really, just a quick message to let you guys know the car is in good hands now and will be cherished and looked after, hope to interact with you all on this forum at some point in the future thanks and here is a couple of photos
