  1. Thanks guys, looks like a trip down on the body shop then. It’s a car I bought recently and I had a feeling it was a motorway car, I’m hoping that now I use it for town work it may not get as bad as quickly if I have the bumper repainted Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. My 300h has just over 60,000 miles on it and the front bumper looks like it has 160,000 miles on it Anyone else with the same issues? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Is that a metallic black or solid? Nice finish you’ve achieved there [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I don’t think anyone here is doubting you, it’s just a really strange thing to happen as there appears to be very little link between the secondary lighting circuit and the main ECU. I will be honest my first thought was that the dealer is pulling a fast one and charging off time in order to recoup for time investing a fault that only transpired to be a blown fuse, however I will hold my hand up and say I am the original cynic when it comes to dealers. 5. Wow!!! Thanks for the warning. Just out of curiosity what bulbs did you replace with LEDs? I am only looking at the interior ones and can’t see how that would interfere with the ECU, but then I’m not an engineer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. my '63 plate has the same whistle, as others have said its quite nice, and knowing that it isn't an issue is reassuring
  7. thanks for the replies. I did wonder if the juddering was the switch from regen to normal braking, that catches me out from time to time and at very slow speed I end up braking really savagely . I have some leds on order now from eBay, hoping that they are ones that last a while As for the feet, well I will have to modify the way I place my feet in the car
  8. Ive had my IS300 for a few weeks now and love it, its a nice place to be for 10-12 hours a day. I have a few queries, little quirks that I have found and wondered if anyone else has found these: when slowing down I find the gearbox 'juddery' like its actually knocking itself down through the gears. The panel under the dash above the pedals on the drivers side catches my feet!! im only a size 9 shoe but really struggle moving my foot from accelerator to brake pedal easily, anyone else suffer with this? is there a fix? The dash and switches are lit in that really nice blue/white led type light, I want to change the footwell lights, interior dome lights and if possible the mirror puddle lights to the same style of light, has anyone done this? where did they get the bulbs from? thanks in advance
  9. that noise is one I have come across in the past, but on my Prius. Toyota seemed to manufacturer their pads with a small layer of hard material in the pad, when the pad was nearly worn it would be exposed and create this bloody awful noise, but it was there to get you to look at the brakes and so replace them soon. The material never damaged the disc, it was hard enough to cause the squeak but soft enough to not make the disc and it will disappear after about 100 miles
  10. ive had my IS300h for about 3 weeks now and all my use is around town. Eco on and the air con on for quite a lot of the time I am getting between 48-52mpg which im happy with as my average journey is about 3 miles at a time and a lot of stop start driving
  11. I am new to Lexus ownership and tonight updated my prem nav to VD12104A using the Lexus Tech portal. can anyone tell what the VD12104B update has that the previous doesn't? I would like to do the later update but will admit that if it doesn't change a lot then I won't bother.
  12. Yes, that's a really neat touch Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Wow that's a real disappointment about the overhead LEDs, I've got so used to them on the Prius, I may have to see if I can't do something about that, just been back out to the car and it does have the have the footwell and puddle lights, just need to figure on some single LEDs to light the console from above
  14. I picked up my 2014 300h today, absolutely love it, such a different car to the Prius I used to drive. i have a few queries though about interior and exterior lighting. Mine is the SE spec, in the handbook it makes reference to footwell lights and outside puddle lights that are on the exterior mirrors, would mine have those as I couldn't see any light in the footwells? also in the panel above your head where the interior lights are there appear to be 2small led lights that would light the centre console, mine don't appear to be working, should the SE have those? If so does anyone know what fuse might be responsible for all of these? many thanks in advance
  15. My Prius has a reverse camera, I find it invaluable and when I buy my IS I want one with a camera fitted. i use it in conjunction with the mirrors and not as a standalone reversing item, you still need to see what's all around you when going backwards.
  16. if it anything like the Toyota VR system then trust me you are better off not having it, your sanity will suffer when trying to use it and eventually the buttons become redundant as you will never use it. And then every once in a while I forget how bad it is and try using it, only to verbally berate myself for not remembering how bad it is.
  17. an interesting thread, especially as I am looking to buy an IS300h that will be averaging 50K a year. I currently run a 3rd gen Prius that now has 160,000 miles on it and is still going strong, I have had that 2.5 years and put about 125,000 miles on it, most of it town and fast A road driving. The only things I have had to do aside from servicing are a transmission fluid change at 100,000 miles, a set of discs all round at 155,000 miles, two front shock absorbers last week and every 50k miles I replace the EGR cooler as these block up and can cause head gaskets to blow. If the IS300h is using gen3 technology then its fair to say it will be bullet proof, does anyone know if the 2.5 IS engine is a derivative of the Prius 1.8 or is it a whole different engine?
