  1. Well we bit the bullet and bought an interior. thats 8 foot tall by the way and about 95% of an entire F-sport interior. it was filthy, but having cleaned up the front seats they literally were plug and play. So I’ve gone from manual half leather to electric operation and heated half leather sport seats, I so with I had done it earlier this was the seats when I took them out of the container. there’s quite a lot of things in the crate I’m not going to transfer over to my SE though
  2. My daly driver, just clocked up 205,000 miles in it and now treating it to an F-sport interior upgrade. normally I move my cars on by this mileage but this one doesn’t look like it’s done half it’s mileage so it’s staying for a while
  3. Finally crossed the 200K barrier today
  4. I have joked with my local dealer about trading it in for a GS350h in the past, they weren’t that keen on taking, using the immortal lines “you’ll get more for it selling it privately” 😂 I would have another Lexus hybrid but currently it’s not a good time economically in my trade so mine will soldier on.
  5. Aside from the hybrid battery that you had commented on earlier in the thread nothing major. a few sets of caliper sliders, but that seems to be standard for Toyota/Lexus. I do all the servicing myself. In a past career I was a mechanic and I enjoy keeping my hand in, all my parts are genuine Lexus,
  6. it took me a little longer that planned but at last I have found out the answer........ My car is prewired for heated seats. I took the seats out this weekend to clean the interior and looked at the multiplugs. the seat, a bare multiplug the loom that's on the car, with all the correct wiring in place so now the hunt is on for a switch, seats and centre console trim
  7. Mine will be hitting 200K next week, currently sat on 199550 miles. Mechanically I have no doubt 300K would be easily possible, that will be another 2 years the way my work is going currently
  8. Thanks for that, the plug looks similar but most importantly the number that’s stamped on the plug is the same number listed in the wiring diagram. the seats are coming out this weekend so we can get the carpet up and look for the looms for the heaters and electrical motors
  9. My 2014 IS300h is SE spec, as a result I have half leather, manual, non heating seats. I have located a complete interior that would be a nice upgrade, however its electric, cooled and heated seats. Sometime ago I asked the question about cars being prewired for things that the car may not have been fitted with, the general consensus was that Lexus didn't do this as it wasn't cost effective. Today I was doing some work on the centre console and I noticed there was a 6 pin multi-plug that was taped up and is not being used, so I got the multimeter out, there was power to one of the terminals. Looking at Lexus-tech this appears to be connector K99, the multi-plug connector for the heated seat switches. Looking at the connector blocks that are listed K99 is the 6 pin connector listed here There are 30A fuses in the power seat fuse locations and 15a fuse in the heated seat locations. Next job will be to take out the seats, lift the carpet and see if there are any multi-plugs attached to the wiring loom in the area of the seats my current seats have 3 multi-plugs on them, does anyone know how many connectors an electric operated and heated seat will have?
  10. wow!! that's not good and a poor reflection of the roads in your area. i've done 195,000 and still on its original bearings
  11. Finally got to the bottom of it... the rear bumper has just been repainted the garage removed the bumper as it’s their preferred way of painting them, and mine as well anyway, during removal they had to remove the tool tray in the boot and one of the mechanics has dropped a trim tool and it fell under the hybrid battery, that’s what was rattling about
  12. Thanks for that, I was expecting a to see a flap, like an anti-siphon device, on other people cars. ok, back to the drawing board then.....
  13. I bought one of these last year......... in one sentence don’t waste your money. it’s not android 10, it’s a clone of android 7 that can’t be updated. Many of the apps in the play store cannot be loaded because the OS is too old. the tech support is terrible and the fitting instructions are a joke, you are seriously on your own as they provide no realistic help. That may be due to the language barrier. if your using iOS and apple CarPlay then you will find it will never connect smoothly and without some kind of intervention. I’ve used an XR and 12pro and none of them connect automatically. The reverse camera is distorted as it stretches the picture over a greater area. the touch screen is a nice idea but the screen is too far away from you when you’re sat down driving so you have to stretch to touch it all in all, great concept poorly executed
  14. Need some help clarifying something, I wonder if someone could help by removing the fuel And taking a picture of the filler neck? I wonder if someone could help by removing the fuel And taking a picture of the filler neck? A bit of an odd request but I have a feeling something is missing from my filler neck and I have a banging noise coming from the back of the car that I think is the part in question is in the fuel tank This is what I’m looking at……
  15. I did mine a few days ago, its interesting the info you can get out of the system, Many thanks @Britprius
  16. i fitted a Vline grom upgrade on my IS300H, it was so much better. Apple carplay, google maps and the ability to download your own apps, so much better than standard.
  17. I use Eco around town and normal mode on the motorways/duel carridgeway. Sport mode gets used when im on the traffic light grand prix 😁 My average across a working week is 50.5mpg, this has improved over the last few weeks, especially now the weather is improving
  18. Wow I’m surprised it doesn’t have keyless!! my 2013 SE had it as standard, to me it’s a normal feature now of all Lexus models
  19. It's good, but the IS300h only launched in 2013 so less time to get there. Jason has 180k on his IS300h. Recently put in a new hybrid battery. Hopefully he was unlucky and this isn't the norm. Several GS450h batteries have had problems way lower than that mileage. All other hybrids are more reliable than the series III GS450h so hopefully that IS300h follows them and not the GS. Closer to 190k now. I still believe that my battery failure at 180k was abnormal, I’ve seen/had a few Toyota that have done well over 200k still on their origins hybrid battery. now that I’ve had the battery done the difference is massive, you don’t notice the old unit degenerating until you drive one with a new battery in it. I was going to trade it this year but having spent 2k on the battery I’ll take it to 250/300k and then pass it on
  20. strange, my dealer charged me £137 for mine last month
  21. My Bad 🤦‍♂️ I did get my figures wrong
  22. No, the problem was Lexus wanted to do the job during the week and the car is in use every weekday so I only had the weekend to do it. I would guess there's about 10 hours of workshop time there at the least
  23. The video.... apologies for the quality 🤦🏼‍♂️ @https://youtu.be/jP9unL-yxxk
  24. My point is that I don't know whether dealers disclose that the pack is reconditioned. I have had a few customers (yes I am involved in the trade) that they've had brand new packs from Honda (1st Gen Civic IMA) and wasn't told or explained why they wanted the old pack back and the 'new' one installed and fitted for £1800 was reconditioned hence my conversation with my friend at Honda UK to verify this as my customer was absolutely certain the whole pack was entirely brand new, with new cells direct from Panasonic etc. I had my Samsung phone battery replaced by an official service centre. They made it very clear that the battery is reconditioned so that I know what I'm paying for (£130) is acceptable. So I'm wondering when Jason purchased the pack, whether the parts dept explained clearly what he was purchasing unlike Honda (without explaining) They did say the battery pack was factory reconditioned, and then went on to explain what’s meant by that. In my eyes because the chemical part of the cell is brand new I was happy that the battery was going to give me the performance and longevity the original one gave. I did ask about the price of a “brand new” one and was told they are not listed. The one I purchased is the only one that is available for trade, retail and Lexus warranty as well. Battery prices are starting to fall now, I was watching a program about it, today we have reached a point where a Li-on battery costs per Kw (battery capacity) have now dropped below £100, the IS300h has a 40 Kw/h battery that’s Ni-Mh and so is older technology. At £1900 is almost half that price and good value if I can get another 180,000 miles out of the car. The regulations about new/reconditioned have become a bit blurred over the years, and it leads to all manner of customer confusion. Because the greater part of my “new” battery is a reused component (carcass, bus bars, battery frame) it has to be classified as reconditioned. The cells themselves could very well be brand new from Panasonic but because they don’t constitute the greater part of the component it has to be called reconditioned/remanufactured
  25. I would do another battery everyday rather than plumbing 😁 Yes. I've been out in it today and done one of my daily runs of about 80 miles, temp was between -3 and 1 degree the MPG was better than it was last week when it was between 4-10 degrees. There appears to be a lot more torque and around town it now runs on EV a lot more than it used to. The guys at Lexus were telling me about the process of reconditioning the old battery. They reuse the carcass and wiring loom, the body of the battery cells are reused and there are some elements of the Ni-Mh battery that are recycled but the cell can be passed as new because a greater percentage of it has not been used before. However by the time you build the whole unit up to be a complete battery a greater %age are parts that have been pre-used so it has to be called reconditioned. The parts that are reused will not compromise the longevity of the battery though. Toyota/Lexus are happy to warranty the part and also continue to offer health checks on the battery that will extend the warranty of it. to me that's treating it as a new unit.
