  1. Sorry, couldn't resist. I love red interiors....
  2. Get the warranty, as said above it includes the recovery. If it was me, and I know this is harsh, but I would book it in with Lexus for the inspection straight away. Then, if Lexus find lots of faults (unlikely) you can then reject the car under the 30 day rules.
  3. Just avoid them ones with them carbon bonnets, it seems they melt in the sun.
  4. The RCF got a little mention in Evo mag this month. An article comparing Aston with a Mustang for a 40k purchase. At the end it mentions some alternatives. "while at the other end of the sensible spectrum it's possible to get a nearly new RCF, which provides the high revving, naturally aspirated V8 experience but with supreme build quality and reliability"
  5. It seems your carbon bonnet has melted.
  6. Quite a fair review I thought. I don't compare the Rcf to an M4, the Rcf for me is a nice reliable GT car. I'd compare the Rcf to a Jag F-Type, Jag XK, Aston DB9 even. My last car was like an M4, I chose the Rcf because I wanted something a bit more luxurious, better quality, and more grown up. Just like he describes the buyer in the review. And of course the big one for me, something rare. After a couple of months of ownership I'm still getting people asking me what it is.
  7. Some dealers recently have had their Ebay accounts hijacked. It's a very clever scam. Scammer sends the dealer a message saying they want to PX their car, they say the car is on ebay, have a look. They supply a link to the px. Dealer clicks on the link and is shown the log in page for Ebay, it looks very genuine. The dealer enters their user name and password to see the car being Px'd, it even takes them to a car ad on ebay that looks genuine so at this point the dealer doesn't know they've given away their user details and password. In the meantime the scammer posts up some ads for an unusually cheap car and takes several £500 deposits of people before it's all closed down. I'm not saying this is the case here, but it's going on.
  8. Do the guys at Cheltenham have an opinion on supercharging them? My friend in Canada is about to have his Subaru one done. $15,000 canadian I think he said.
  9. Wow, that does look very nice in an old school way. What's the interior like? It looks high quality in the pics.
  10. The difference is hanging the tail out on a nice wet, deserted, roundabout. These cars are so easy to learn oversteer with, they'll do it at very low speeds in the wet.
  11. I really wanted one of these when they were launched. I've owned several of it's older brothers the AE86's. But I felt it just needed more power. I too would like to try a supercharged one.
  12. And another one on the center console in front of the gear stick. Nice spec car though, TVD and a sunroof.
  13. Is that a Carbon edition? Or has it just had a bit of carbon wrap?
  14. Someone educate me please, I'm not getting it. £1200 for PPF that lasts three years? Then pay £1200 again? PPF will protect from some damage but not a bigger impact that dents the bonnet. And I've read recently some PPF's haven't even lasted three years with suppliers blaming car washing for it's failings. Has anyone on here had experience of these PPF's that runs to more than three years?
  15. You'll have to go in and ask them. I'm not local to you so can't recommend anyone, but there's a couple of bodyshops my way that do Bentleys and similar, I'm sure they could paint a Lexus, and they don't charge £1100 You only have to blend into the next panel if you're taking the colour close to the edge.
  16. £1100 to repaint a bonnet? Find yourself a local bodyshop that comes recommended.
  17. Do I get a prize for having the slowest "other half"?
  18. Most of the reviews I've read compare the RC-F to an M4 which is a fair bit lighter, hence they're labeling the RC-F as heavy I suppose. For me the M4 is just too common and too "Bmw same same" on the inside. What I love about the RC-F after 4 weeks of ownership is that everyone has to ask what it is? My last car that was stupidly quick and agile, was just an ordinary looking car that all my friends thought must have been my wifes car (Audi TT) The RC-F has so much more presence than many cars, I've seen so many people staring at it more than most of cars I've had before. For me the comparison was also a ten year old Aston for the same price, I went for the much newer, and more reliable, motor. And also rarer.
  19. Ok, I'll keep an eye out on the BCA lists. I still feel a little guilty of getting the grey one you'd seen.
  20. We all have our reasons for choosing our cars, I find it interesting to hear other peoples views. Not sure many of us bought their Lexus to do track days, anyone? For me it just caught my eye in a car showroom. I had read about them, and saw one at my local Toyota dealership when they were launched, so they've always been on my radar. Having owned it for 4 weeks now I'm pleased to report I've had several people ask what's that car on your drive? I've always had fancy cars, and I often have a fancy motor on the drive as I collect them for dealers, so for people to ask what this one is pleases me as it shows it's a rare, good looking, interesting motor. Hoping to get it above 16mpg in the future sometime, but if not never mind. I'm still loving it.
  21. @Bluethunder If you're still looking. BCA Blackbushe have a white Carbon on buy it now, £34,975 plus fees. YE65 ZGL 9,023 miles, 3 owners, 2x main dealer services. I don't think that's particularly cheap as you'd be buying it Trade, but you could always make them an offer, it's been through the sale and not sold. Get someone to inspect it if you're interested. Many cars at auction are very genuine, but many are not, and may have accident repairs or issues. Check underneath the car as I've bought many a good looking car at the sales to find damage underneath when it goes on the ramp.
  22. A couple of years ago Aviva gave my missus an introductory discount, she'd been on my policy for ever so hadn't got no claims of her own. Worth a try, they're not on comparison webistes.
