UCF20 Celsior Facelift TOMs Performance ECU
hockeyedwards replied to DanMystro's topic in Engine & Transmission
I would give all the money for the cool key alone 🤣 -
Dropped all seat related plans to have some enjoyment over half term whilst the wife is off work and the weather favourable. Have made the executive decision to just repair/ repaint the seats for now. Car should be back with me next week, the weather is nice, so heated seat function is low down priority and I'll save it for a winter job. So the mystery shall remain for now. Have cleaned the seats and my dad is popping over tomorrow with spray gun to apply dye and newly acquired sealant. Will do my best to get some pics for the forum to assess 😉

Good spot @Linas.P, jogged my memory, he had switched to some rotiform centre locks. I had forgot I had him on instagram. Just had a skim back through his pics, his description for set up was 15mm spacers all round with correct spigot rings and the Vantage wheels were 8.5 fronts 9.5 rears - hope that helps @ubersonic

Thanks @steve2006, got mine from that rainforest website 😉. I take pictures of everything, as I never tend to get the time to put everything back together in one go. Still got all my interior pics from that dismantle, no nuts or bolts left over! 💪 My kit was delivered today, no free time until the weekend so will have stare longingly at it in the meantime!

My Gsf stolen
hockeyedwards replied to Gsf grey solihull's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I joined a few facebook number plate groups a while back and it was honestly the worst experience ever so avoid them. Might be worth asking on the Lexus Owners UK facebook group, there are a few people with GSF's not on this forum in that group. If you want to shift quick, best bet is to approach online reg sellers, plenty out there so shop around and if they are interested enough, they'll buy it off you, otherwise they'll advertise on your behalf and take a fee upon selling 🙂 -
My Gsf stolen

Super sad that another one is off the road! Gutted for you and the car. I can't believe it is a write off though, £30k+ worth of damage... really? Wonder if it'll go up for auction eventually, be keeping eyes out to see what the future holds! -
Sent my sun visor off last week, has been received and colour matched. Should be getting my kit this week sometime! I do plan on deconstructing the seats to try and work out whats going on with the lack of heated seat-ness, before I start to make a hash of it, any recommendations for tools/ methods to removing the hog rings? TIA.

If it's your favourite CD that you just can't stop playing, that can cause the disc to become warm. Don't think it would result in 'hot' though. If the laser is receiving power surges, it can heat the CD - a possibility. Might sound daft but can you play the CD on another device without issue? - Just to make sure it isn't the disc. Do you get any error messages on the display? - might narrow down the issue. US forum general suggestion is - With the car off, hold down "seek up" and "disc" at the same time. Continue to hold the buttons and turn the car key to "ACC" mode. This immediately ejected the CDs and the word " SHIP" displayed on the screen. I pressed "LOAD" and that took it out of shipping mode and everything is working like normal.

Spoil sport haha! The windscreen and chrome top strip was £500+VAT, so £600. As they were not fitting it, I had to collect but it it fit quite nicely in a friends estate and I just packed it with pillows and duvet, not that I was expecting a random shattering event! The screen is sourced from a 3rd party company (cannot remember the name), but as detailed above is made by Pilkington. When I picked it up, they had my one, one on reserve and whilst searching for mine in the warehouse located another one, so one potentially still up for grabs!

I think you can get away with some of the colour combinations more than others and of course as is everything, it is a matter of personal taste and opinion. I saw a brown-ish metallic with beige interior and I swear it looked ancient. But you could equally argue that the browns, beiges etc are more 'classic'. I used to think green made cars look dated, now I find myself eyeing a few cars on the green spectrum.

I want to keep it the original two tone and although generally not a silver car person, I do think it works well, plus the wheels add to it without being OTT. I think either works for you, full blace can look lovely but if I were to pick a complimentary colour, it would be grey! I understand the problem, I hate being indecisive... or do I? 😉

Contacted Gliptone and after a quick phone discussion, will be sending off a sample or my headrest to get a colour match and then they'll happily send me a kit. Got the seats out of storage and gave them a glance over, nothing substantial on the damage front, didn't get around to cleaning them properly as I've stacked 2 sets of wheels in front of my cleaning boxes (of course), so a damp microfibre wipe down had to suffice.

They were highly recommended among my automotive friends and considering the car was about 3 different shades of white, few rusted spots and torn bumper corners from careless previous owners, I wanted it done properly. Not to mention the addition of the Artisan Spirits kit. The owner and I had a great chat about 'how far' he wanted me to go with the paint job and we agreed it needed more than a 'blow over'. Funnily enough, I didn't actually ask if they were removing the rear screen, the front came out as it was delaminating in all 4 corners and required replacement and just made for an easier job. There was a few rust spots creeping through under the outer window chromes which required repair, so I'd imagine he removed them all to make sure nothing was hiding. I'm most surprised the bottom cladding came off, but pleases me the job has been nothing but thorough. Yes they are DHP wheels, all freshly refurbed, really are a lovely wheel. Wish they came in 18's but I do prefer them over the 18's I had on the car as a stop gap whilst sourcing them, even managed to get 5, so have a spare 🙂 Good spot on the LEDs, I like the more intense/ clear light they provide but despite being sold as CANBUS compatible there is a dash light on saying a bulb is out. Still comtemplating if adding resistors will look ugly, or do I just go back to stock... decisions!

Trans Oil Change

Take it to a Toyota dealer, probs get a better quote! I echo the annoyance about a pants car. I had nothing but CT's other than my last service, a UX instead, which tbf was actually quite pleasant to drive. I did ask about an LC and was considering one for a while, but a no go 😞 I just sit and wait, connect to the wifi and work from the dealer now, not worth the bother. Can take phonecalls outside and have a good nose about the inventroy stored round the back too 😛 -
A plethora of knowledge as always chaps. Always appreciated! Just read your entire thread @steve2006, great result after the song and dance of getting a colour match (hence me wanting to do the faffing up front now) Will probably get some time tomorrow to get the seats out of their current residence and unwrap to inspect but otherwise nothing until next week as graciously the boss (me, I'm self employed) has set aside some car time whilst everyone else pledges allegiance... 😂

Mucho gracias, it is just the usual cracks. Will need to give them a proper once over to double check. Currently wrapped and stored in the garage so no pictures available at the moment, but will try and remember to do some before and afters. Obviously if they were ripped, a proper repair would be required. Was just seeing if I could get away with dye only, before ordering the whole shebang!

After my windscreen success, feeling positive that this car will look the business once it has all come together. Need to potentially dismantle the front and rear seats for a number of reasons, so fancied 'tarting up' the tired interior. The leather seats require some TLC, going to have a go at some DIY repairs, but I can't find the name of the colour for my interior. 1996 LS400 grey leather. Anyone got a scooby on the name? I don't have the car as it is at the bodyshop so can't access the VIN for the 'trim colour' but hoping someone with knowledge can quote the colour name 🙂 And whilst I am seeking advice, if anyone has attempted DIY leather repair on these seats and could give me some pointers (outside of copious youtube video watching) or a recommended kit they have used, that would be smashing. TIA!
