  1. Yahoo Japan is a pretty amazing place, looking forward to seeing the wheels on the car, seen a few on the US F forums, do look good. I was slumming it about in my wifes NX for a bit 😛 whilst I waited for my LS to get some paint and lip kit applied, now road worthy and MOTd but got a few niggles to sort and waiting for final exhaust parts to come in to finish her off, then I'll be wafting about in that 😉 although do have my eye on another V8 😜
  2. That came quick! I shall keep an eye out for you on the road and maybe catch you for a ride along 😉
  3. The quote from GTHaus with full system was +12HP I think, but without mapping, the HP 'gain' will be minimal if any. Cold start is the best part 😛
  4. Much appreciated, unfortunately the link doesn't work for me, just hangs 'this request is being processed' but never loads 😞
  5. And I presume there is only one relay that includes the rear fogs or should I be snooping elsewhere? 🙂
  6. Thanks @ColinBarber and @BigBoomer, I have wrangled a friend whos an auto electrician to come have a look for me as I imagine it will be a quicker process 😛
  7. Thanks but I was aware. Have tried everything so presuming it is a broken wire somewhere but can't find a diagram that has rear fogs, I have an idea but it will give me better direction than just blindly searching for a miracle.
  8. Have tested fuses, relays and even swapped them over and no joy. I am getting power from the fog switch but nothing at the bulb itself, bit odd as reverse light right next to it in the same holder does work 😞
  9. Hey peeps, does anyone have a wiring diagram for 1996 LS400 that includes rear fog lights? Tested all the simple things and they seem to be functioning/ not blown so now need to go on a more indepth hunt to find my problem. TIA.
  10. One present at Goodwood FoS this year by the company advertising on Autotrader. Really nice guys to chat with and some serious bits of kit on their stocklist, some to taste such as this LFA and some questionable items 😛 even caught a few rev blips of that superb V10! 2023-07-13 22.29.11.mp4
  11. 'Players' at Goodwood is better, not Jap specific, but the people and culture is cooler and more welcoming, went as a spectator only this year but will definitely take the LS in the future. Also Daikoku at C&M is brilliant. FoS has been ever improving, it went a bit dull for a bit, but since Duke's son has taken the reigns, diversity has definitely ramped up. Bonus of being a member means discounts 😛
  12. My god, this is turning into more of a ball ache than I'd ever imagine. 3rd phonecall of the day trying to source a decent policy for my LS to be back on the road this week. £800, £1000, £10000!!!! Might just go with comparison site for £400! Allegedly its my age... 32 - such a whipper snapper.... engine size 4L - have been insured on 4.7 and 5L cars before this and the type of vehicle... reliable land yacht?
  13. Ahh yes, you are now down the rabbit hole... welcome! 😆 DIY paint is so difficult, dust is indeed the enemy. When I DIYd the seat dye/ coating, some dust has got in whilst using spray gun, but I cba to rectify at the moment and until I point it out, most people don't notice. Just had my delivery of trim clips, nuts, bolts and all the inbetweens that decided to break during removal of the interior. As long as you're having fun, if not, cuppa tea and revisit 😛
  14. Funny, I phoned to get some quotes on my LS, previously paying circa £200 per year on a classic policy, went back to that company and they wanted £1000!!!!! The guy on the phone did apologise prefusely as even he thought it was a mistake and spoke with whoever underwrites the policies and apparently they cited 'increased number of thefts to LS400' models' - errr what now, are there even that many left to steal? 😆, also makes me think they are just lumping it in with the recent trend of Lexus/ Toyota CANBUS thefts and making a quick buck. I ended up using one of the generic price comparison sites and got £350...
  15. Use megazip or amayama to search the part numbers and see if they overlap 🙂
  16. Yeah I presumed it would reach a point where there would be excess still there after some time. They look good but not perfect, but a damn sight better than before. Annoyingly a few weird marks have appeared so possibly need some further work in the future, must have been from being left uncovered in the garage/ outside drying. Having watched how easy all the cream interiors on cars my dad owned mark/ stain, I vowed never to have anything like it haha!
  17. Busy car related week, tough but someones gotta do it 😉 Seats all done, had some leather cream applied which seems to highlight how dry they are as it just soaks it up in an instant and the seats still feel a little stiff, so will wait until tomorrow and reassess if they need more, have put them in the car as garage space is a premium at the moment.
  18. A picture may aid your search/ members brains, but if it the ones I am thinking of, might sound silly but you can literally just type into ebay 'car trim clips' and loads of variations come up 🙂
  19. Fair play to you, it can be a bit of a minefield when starting out and does take some bravery. I have been in that position when first starting out on car care, luckily youtube really is a great place if you pick up the right videos. 'Perfect' paint is hard to come by so if you have to look hard for any marks etc (especially on an aged vehicle) then you've done a good job. Just don't buy a detailing light/ torch, that is a real can of worms haha 😆 Looks great and of course, glad you are happy too!
  20. Haha amazing! Tbh I am pretty miffed as the bulbs were only 2 years old and only had like 6 months use!
  21. After weather seal renewal and the faff with dipped beam, all lights refitted and refitted the exhaust this morning, she starting to come together, some sneaky peaks 😉
  22. I would imagine a desperate move likely whilst it was rainy time of year and water pouring into the boot, probably had silicone easy to hand and temp fix.
  23. So after all of that, it was the sodding bulb, serves me right for not sticking to simple things first, both bulbs visibly blown on the dipped beam filament. Halfords will have to do for now and I will upgrade later as the light given off is abysmal, must have been bad luck that both went together.
  24. You'd be surprised what a well versed alloy refurb company can accomplish, most of the time it is whether they can be 'bothered' or just want a quick turnaround jobby. Do you think the look was obtained on purpose or by accident, I only ask as plastics don't tend to paint well and pit terribly, wonder if that is the plastic pattern underneath?
  25. Thanks Malc, they were 7 of the Kings pounds for a twin pack! Fortune would have it, I was a 'fitter' whilst working for Halfords at University and I would hope after stripping the subframe, suspension and interior, I could manage a mere bulb change (he says) 🤣 - time to find out 😛
