Car is unknown to me, but can you ask to see the servicing proof and notes that may confirm or deny your suspicion? Also will allow you to see any notes for areas that may require attention in your ownership and most importantly, hybrid health check certificates. Or simply contact the Lexus dealer it was serviced at and say you are looking to buy, just want to check its history etc etc - worth a shot? Before I would even consider the trip. Ask for video of it running, bonnet open etc (surely dealer will oblige, considering your potential round trip). As with most older cars, check for recent or lack of fluids being changed, belts, tensioners, pulleys, steering or suspension components, discs, pads all your wear and tear items etc - again if full Lexus history, dealer should be able to check through paperwork to provide the info. Best of luck on your potential new barge! 😛

Slowly whittling down on the problems. Next in line, keys! I only have 1 key, which is just a blade, no buttons or fob to lock/ unlock. Tempting fate everytime I use it, getting a bit flimsy and I can see it ending up snapped. Any links or info on where to get a key with transponder and/ or fob for 1996 LS400?

Just dropped the LS off for a 4 wheel alignment, couldn't match diaries with the garage I would use for the past 4 weeks, but finally came together. Having just 'thrown together' the car after replacing all the bushes and track rod ends many moons ago, I was running some seriously random camber and driving with the steering wheel at 11 o'clock to be 'straight'. Also had my sexy new exhaust tips arrive, so fabricator will tend to those on Friday 🙂

You can use megazip or amayama to filter down to your sons car, even down to the VIN and you'll hopefully be able to find the parts diagrams with correct part numbers required. On megazip, search toyota parts catalogue and then you will find Lexus models. Don't buy from megazip though, a lot of bad reviews, but the parts diagrams are good! Once you find the part numbers, you can do the old magic trick of going to ebay and typing 'toyota' followed by the part number required and searching, usually throws up results.

Thats the angle for sure, look nice and beefy! -
@Gary H lets hope it flops, but a few reallyyyyyy high spec ones get purchased by dealers or customers, only to become absolute steals for the second hand market! 😉 On the pricing front, everything is just insane money, not that I would ever really consider buying new, but having looked across the board at everything from little to large and sporty, nothing is 'good value' in my eyes. Not until it's two years old 😛

Yeah it was 17 onwards that had adaptive, just ask for a photo under the bonnet and you'll see the control modules sitting on top of the struts (or lack of). I don't think because the car is 'known' means it is a bad thing, the lip kit just made it distinctive. WBAC/ book price was lower than what mine sold for. If I was an owner, I would be happy if that sold at £43k, as a buyer... not so much haha. -

yeah the lip kit is a dead giveaway, sure it went through Monza, then was sold privately, quite easy to keep track as there are so few! -

£43k blue beauty up for sale on AT, not sure if I am disgusted or happy with that price 🤣 -
I ran errands as the weather was quite nice this morning, got them all done like the good boy I am, went to reward myself with giving the LS a clean, got the pressure washer out, sorted the buckets etc and it absolutely chucked it down, so instead I sulked and sat inside the car and cleaned the windows... 🤷♂️😂 By the time the rain gave over, wife was home, dog needed walked and went to the gym. The LS shall remain mildly dirty for another day!

LC500 V8s back to mid £40k by end of year?
hockeyedwards replied to Flytvr's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Blimey, haven't visited this thread in a while, got real spicy for a bit didn't it?! 😂 @Flytvr how much for yours? LOC discount right 😛 My visit back to the LC side of the forum is not just for sight seeing, things have turned themselves back around after a turbulent year. I miss the GS F, but don't need the 4 doors, I want another V8, before everything is boring. Consider the LC back on the list for car shopping. If I wait for the next 6 months, I'm sure I can talk the prices down right? 😉 -

It is tempting to come back, but I want a change but can't decide what V8 is worth having! -

Couldn't stop yourself could ya? 😉 Hope you enjoy it, as many others do 🙂 Nearly purchased one as a 'run around' as the wife thought it was pretty and missed her nippy little Audi, but was a bit much £££ for the purpose we'd use it for!
