  1. Amen, haha! I didn't realise mine had a Lion battery as the labels had semi scratched off. Usually get Yuasa from halfords as I have a trade card 😄
  2. Manifolds are fine but from the end of the Y piece back it has been butchered beyond belief, it has been made into a single exit, has about 4 different diameter pipes and the joins are all either corroded to dust or smothered in the worst exhaust chewing gum. Have a friend who does projects as pocket money and he is going to help me out with making a custom one 😄
  3. https://blog.lexus.co.uk/hakuji-white-lexus-rc-f-track-edition/ I mean I am bias in liking white, but this is noiceeee and has PPF installed already. Price is a bit eye watering but 1 of 1 ordered by Lexus UK is kinda cool 🙂
  4. Maybe some transparency of numbers etc might help with future purchase and what you want to pay, nothing to hide and happy to help fellow LOC members 😉 Purchased by '96 LS400 for £1300, I have replaced wheels with aftermarket and the suspension for coilovers. I have put a new AC condenser and dryer unit. I have serviced the power steering reservoir seals, added back the original airbox and slam panel intake. Rear discs and pads changed. I have replaced headunit backlight bulbs, hopefully fixed a wiring gremlin related to door locking and windows opening. I converted headlights back to stock from HIDs and replaced a few bulbs here and there. The battery has been upgraded and bonnet struts have been replaced. Including car price I am currently at £3.5k total spent. I admit I have saved money by doing things myself and making use of mates rates from a friend who is an autotech. I was fortunate to be given a look at the cars history by the owner before me, it had received a new starter motor, alternator, timing belt and water pump all within the past 5 years. I serviced instead of replacing the power steering pump that was leaky. I have to get a new exhaust and new windscreen at some point. So probably pushing £4k by then. It will also require a full respray as the paint is knackered. I also need to get the rear subframe out/ thoroughly checked including brake hard lines (known issue) but I don't enjoy lying on the ground in the freezing cold 😄 if I were to get it resprayed and check the subframe/ brake lines and then put the car up for £4-5k - I don't think I would classify that as a rip off? (Opposing opinions always welcome), plus prices will start to lift with time. The links above regarding 'thing to look out for' are really worth a read. Can help you dodge a bullet or provide ammunition for haggling. I was offered a very very well looked after LS from a member on here when I was first looking, but I wanted a bargain to restore myself. His price was somewhere in the zone you've mentioned and I thought it was reasonable and I don't think £5k is too bad if you know the history and the car has been loved.
  5. Had something a little similar but not indicator related. Think it was narrowed down to dodgy connections in the boot by the hinge. Ended up taking all connections I could get my hands on apart, drowned in contact cleaner and toothbrushed lightly. Hey presto all working again... Also might have been coincidence seeing the battery related comments above, but the Lion battery (big paperweight) was duff so was replaced as well.
  6. The eBay ad will be a scam, say they are selling cheap because of 'insert excuse here' they'll take a deposit bla bla via some scammy website link or offer drop off of the goods and if you aren't happy they'll refund etc and goodbye to your money and no car for you. Could message just for the banter to see their response.
  7. Rock auto it is, delivery next Tuesday. Looking at breakers for the pipe first, otherwise it's anayama. Any feedback on that site as I've only ever used rockauto in the past? 🙂
  8. Thanks for the reply, I have gotten quotes from LPD in the past for a few bits and they were as expected, obscene. I had found one UK place for the condenser and dryer unit but I am awaiting a reply on what brand they are as its doesn't list it (suspicious), I've got the bits bookmarked from rockauto, have used them in the past and always hear good things about them so wouldn't have a problem ordering, just good to check if i can get it within UK first. Will have a look and see if rockauto also have the pipe required too, never used amayama, so will check them out as well 🙂
  9. original post mentions I have already looked here for a rough price, just wondering what the difference is for any UK sources anyone may have found and what LPD would charge me 🙂
  10. Condenser is knackered and dryer unit pipe broke off, last bit that needs done to get the LS back on its feet. I've had a look at rock auto to get a rough price up, LPD website doesn't let me send a parts request form 😞 Has anyone ordered either of these bits from them and could tell me how much they roughly paid or has someone managed to source a UK supplier? @LexusPartsDirect see above about enquiry form not working on website, could you contact me about said parts? Lexus LS400, 1996, N reg. New condenser and dryer unit, require pipe from dryer unit as well as previous one broke off in the old unit. 🙂
  11. I am aware of such tactics, I am that saddo that lives on autotrader every evening, spending imaginary money! 😂 Poor explanation on my part - When first listed many moons ago, they were the price you see them at today. When Covid came knocking they put the prices up into the mid and high 80k region, which seemed a bit dumb for the midst of a pandemic. Could of course as you mentioned above be they were trying to dupe people into thinking they had discounted a mid 80k car after restrictions eased. Could argue with them being a Lexus, not gonna be that many eyes on them in comparison to M, RS and AMG cars, so why bother?!
  12. Yeah I have the red interior on my GSF, but the TE seems overly red, also a silly thing that bugs me is that it didn't get an updated steering wheel haha! Carbon kit does look nice in my opinion. Remember seeing it at FOS and it really did look mega. Still super expensive for what it is.
  13. Does wonders for my future valuation. Settling finance next month and will own it outright to keep forever (hopefully), be interested what a 2016 sunroof and ML with 45k miles would fetch...
  14. Same company has both, probs kicking themselves! Ironically, when the first lockdown came into force last year, they put the prices up by like £5-7k... for whatever reason. 'lads they arent selling, I've had an idea... lets put the price up!' Shame it isn't in white (personal fave) as I'd go have a ganders at one and kick tyres and offer them some ridic low ball offer haha!
  15. Should see the two RCF track editions collecting dust... haha
  16. That is a ludicrous price, not that I want to sell mine, but if someone would give me that much I'd be over the moon! 😍
  17. Probably from the same forum or a similar one, but I saw that someone had taken out the old seat heating bits and wired in an Amazon 'modern' seat heating pad. Seemed chuffed with it in the thread and I'd imagine it would warm up quicker. I am still rectifying other interior problems first, then I am getting onto testing my seat heater. Agreed on waiting for better weather!
  18. 😮 my GSD makes for a great co-pilot on occasion but I have to tone down the lead right foot ha!
  19. Everyone needs to complain about something... haha!
  20. I have a good relationship with my local dealer so I will probs give them a call and see what they can do for moi 😄
  21. I have an old trade card for Halfords, so tend to get the Calcium or Silver batteries, have never had issues with them or Yuasa (silver) and the halfrods own brand used to be made by Bosch (unsure if still the case), plus the warranty cover is pretty decent. Unsure how the prices stack up against LPD but I had presumed (maybe incorrectly) that they would be a rip off. About to replace my '96 LS battery as it has a Lion battery (aka big paperweight) so I will be on the prowl soon.
  22. As above, but since switching to PS4's I havent noticed it as much... I hear it's a hot topic on Merc forums!
  23. Think the term is 'crabbing', but its basically the tyre skipping on the surface. Happens in mine on cold mornings too 🙂
  24. I have used EBC reds on my front with significant reduction in dust and about equal to better stopping performance than OEM, I know a few other members have used yellow as well which offer a bit more bite 🙂
