  1. Great channel, gonna be an interesting 'transplant' 😛
  2. We went from the Mrs being in an A1 to an NX to accommodate our new dog and hopeful first kid... had an Abarth 695 Biposto Record (mouthful) as a run around but she hatedddd it, now trying to get a GR Yaris but with test drives not being available for a little bit, just waiting! Bloody dogs and kids hey! 😆
  3. Wouldn't beat yourself up about it, think we've seen over the years it has always been coming. My dads mk1 golf is peanuts to work on compared to the LS, but the LS is peanuts compared to my GS... enthusiasts will always find a way to tinker and don't forget as tech improves, our knowledge does too - could lead to it being easier from a DIY perspective, who knows. I'm happy as long as I can do something 🙂
  4. Good shout about getting one from a car being broken, I'd be inclined to see if you can get one privately from the states, just did a check out with one from rockauto, between £800 and £1100 with shipping. Rockauto are quality and the fedex postage has always been spot on. Shame to write it off but sometimes hands get tied and in all honesty it is just a car... can always enjoy another one or something else. Do what's best for you 🙂
  5. Well... how deep is your pocket 😞 depending on your vin and exact registration in '97 you should be able to get the glass from amayama or rockauto but whether you want to try and import glass without incident... I use megazip (suggested by another member) to find the correct part number, I've used '64810-50180' from guessing some details about your car and prices start at £300 - not including shipping from rockauto and £870 not including shipping from amayama...
  6. As mentioned, don't be shy give us some details 😉 there is a chance someone either knows the car, or has previously owned it! Also helps weed out any dodge ones that may exist 🙂 and also don't be afraid to ask any burning questions that may be on your mind, the forum in general is a chill place and people are out to help each other 😄 Re-iterating some above points, service history should be on point, otherwise yes something is a miss, there was an old fuel pump recall that you might just wanna check was done to the car by Lexus, tyre tread depth otherwise you are looking at some instand cash splurge to replace, discs and pads are only mega expensive if genuine Lexus, there are OEM suppliers outside of Lexus that can save you some serious monies. Maybe see if you can arrange an inspection as it isn't coming from a dealer. Definitely echo the 'know your options' as a lot of sellers tend not to have a clue about what are options and what are standard. You can get the list from Lexus themselves if you get the reg to them. Hopefully all will go swimmingly and you'll be in the club in no time 😉
  7. As mentioned above, there is crossover with other models, so potential that greenstuff has been put in but not specifically made for this car. Have EBC reds on mine as the OEM brake dust was madness, significant improvement with the Reds!
  8. Unlikely to be that high for our NA cars, by no means an expert in the area so happy to be corrected, but I'd imagine any gain to be difficult to notice for us average joe's 😄 I'm also not bothered about any gains and the exhaust was purchased for aesthetics and noise 😛
  9. It is the wording of the failure criteria, as mentioned in previous comments, it is to do with 'modifying OEM emission equipment'. I have passed 2 MOT's with the GTHaus system fitted, but this was not Lexus it was independent garage. The front cats are enough for UK emission laws. Get some ear plugs and pre-apologise to all neighbours in a 100 mile radius 😛
  10. @Hatat see this previous comment regarding potential MOT problems, still got the GTHaus on the F, due for service and MOT in couple of weeks. Ended up speaking to my dealer about it, they will get the car MOT'd at a local garage nearby to avoid any potential issues as mentioned in my above comment, they video the inspection and 2 cats missing isn't something they can glance over 😛
  11. I'd have children, to then sell them for one! 🤣
  12. @steve2006 pester pester, last piece I need to complete my LS 😛
  13. Yeah the GTHaus is beyond loud haha! The mid pipe is where you get your gains on our cars. There is a youtube recording of stock back boxes with and without the GTHaus mid pipe and the difference is mad. I know there are a few on instagram that have mixed and matched different brands to get the sound they want. I have stainless mid and titanium on the rear, the blue matched the F logo so well and get some nasty (satisfying) cracks!
  14. It was on my potential list when looking at aftermarket. I fitted GTHaus mid and back boxes as i felt the noise was more what I wanted, but it is insanely loud. I had to do most of my research via instagram and youtube, depending on audio quality it was hit and miss! With so few GSF's in the UK it really is hard to come by someone else to hear exhaust options in the flesh. Apexi and Toms seem to be the more 'modest' options for opening up the V8.
  15. This was me going to and from the office last year when the very first bunch of key workers were allowed back in, had to go and pick up/ drop off files... kept trying to beat my time each trip 😛 and for reference: Normal traffic - 1 hour Lockdown record - 21mins 😆
  16. Shame it isn't white 😉 just kidding, black with red interior looks noiceeeee
  17. I hope you're taking advantage of the Driftwork JR Wheels sale? If not, check it out... chop chop though ends tonight I believe! 🙂
  18. Thanks for the feedback chaps, now I know I'm not mental and will get them fitted when I've got the time, will look out for the rear possibly missing the 'slot' 🙂
  19. Help the dummy please 😄 Nearing completion of the LS aside that f-ing AC pipe... car came with wear sensor light on the dash, no sensors in place so I bought a front and rear one on the advice that only 1 was needed for each pair. Am I an idiot? (please tell me). How many wear sensors are on a '96 LS, 2, 4, 8? Think my brain needs a wear indicator sometimes when it's time for a lie down 😆
  20. Either the above or your car had an interior transplant and the colour chosen for the seats was 'black, but blue in comparison to other black items' 😆
  21. Black alcantara, black carpet and black leather all look different in their 'blackness' ?🤣 and god knows how many variants are out there, but it's black to me, blue to you, factory listed as black with no blue option available for standard F cars... Suggest to 'close' the matter to get your spec sheet from Lexus, it'll say black 😄
  22. @steve2006 sorry to pester, has the mystical shed provided any results?
  23. Sorry to be that person but pretty sure that's black... and the interior choices for our cars black/white/red? And as mentioned above, the blue reserved for anniversary editions? 🙂
  24. Join the queue 🤣 from previous forum posts I believe they are a bit tougher to get hold off and somewhat expensive compared to years gone by. I ended up looking at some alternatives, the MR2 came with the same part number but are clear, however operates slightly different, was gonna go to a breakers to see if I could view one in the flesh. Quite a few of the Toyota group cars shared parts, so once you have the part number you can have a look around 🙂
