Hey gang, our current Bridgestone Blizzaks are just about out of life. I purchased them from a forum member on here and they've served us well. Before I go on the hunt through the various tyres sites, is anyone selling winter tyres? After 225/60/18, I already have spare wheels, so tyres only please. You can reply to this thread or pm me. I would be willing to travel a reasonable distance from Hampshire or meet half way etc. TIA.

I was the complete opposite, proper JDM kid (kinda still am), the NeedForSpeed era of gaming got me early and hooked! I get more enjoyment looking at 'old japanese tat' as my dad calls it, than most modern stuff. I have recently discovered, I quite like my new dog-mobile which kinda came out the blue considering I was looking at Alpina/ BMW tourings... I bought a V70R!! 😂

Careful, that can end up being quite deadly, you may never stop and then all of a sudden you've packed yourself neatly into a box and shelved yourself according to your new alphabetic system 😂 An amazing channel, I tend to watch them whilst on hold to HMRC or on a call that I just need to be 'present' for but not contribute towards, amazing what you can watch whilst 'at work'. I nearly bought an BMW touring as the dog-mobile after watching some of his videos. I'll keep an eye out 😉

That is exactly where mine was leaking from, I hosed mine down with brake cleaner, went for a spin round the block and confirmed it was there, it had already killed one alternator as it was fairly bad so whipped it off and got it sorted immediately! Something infinitely enjoyable and satisfying about stripping stuff apart and putting back together, happy rebuilding 🙂

Free laugh on me, ordered some generic centre caps for the barge. Ordered based on specs found on this forum. They finally arrived and with the gods allowing a 30min interlude between rainy spells, decided to go pop them on. They seemed a little tight, but I found that reassuring. Couple of taps with the rubber mallet to send it home so to speak, but the cap had other ideas, pinging straight back out and hitting me on the tooth! 😆 Then it rained, so went back inside and will leave it for another day 😛. Maybe a tiny bit of lube required, or possibly the wrong size, we'll find out on the next episode of....

If you are rebuilding the power steering pump, it is pretty easy with the seal kit, access isn't terrible to remove and taking apart and putting back together is DIY- able and you seem handy enough. For the rack, US forums pretty much suggest buying remanufactured unit or taking to a professional, at least you get warranty should something go wrong and apparently its not very DIY friendly with 'many hurdles along the way'. I would also suggest typing 'Toyota' followed by the part numbers into ebay, I have found a lot of parts for mine that way and have all been of decent quality and much better price wise.

It does grab my attention that she runs well 'when the car is warm' that something is amiss and I would ask how long is a while? I'd say my fast idle drops off quite quickly after start up, has been a tad longer now the temp has dropped but not significant. Any other 'odd' symptoms that the car has? It seems you've done a lot of fettling in the right areas with no luck. Could one or both of the cats be on their way out/ clogged/ partially clogged? Any smell from the exhaust, sluggish throttle response, dark smokey exhaust colour...

Lots of fun, got 2 new inner track rods, fitted, front realigned and living the dream! Have been away for half term and left her with my friend who is a fabricator to finally get the exhaust tips done. 1st pic was obvs the obligatory ***** take one 😆 and then following 2 are the end result, very happy with the outcome 🙂

Yet Another Tyre Thread!
hockeyedwards replied to Jgtcracer's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Fair point for the wear factor. I found the OE PSS got shredded on the rear of my GSF. PS4 and PS4S wore very well. I guess with my dad only using his car as a weekend/ driving trip car, rather than a daily, the contis weren't a bad choice. I have nearly always found Camskill to be great value and usually have some Michelin discount when purchasing 2 or 4 tyres, would recommend having a look. -
Yet Another Tyre Thread!

Not the same car, but my dad swapped Michelins for Conti 7s on his Aston and said it is night and day different and would use them again. -
The LS facebook group (I am also part of but must have missed your post), is a great collection of owners. Combined with this forum, not a lot slips through the knowledge gaps! As scythe has pointed out, could possibly be mistaking cars so whoever replied, maybe get some more info to maybe not do yourself out of a potentially great purchase 🙂

Someone had done something similar looking for a leak on the backend of my LS, siliconed everything to within an inch of its life, ultimately just trapping moisture against the already exposed metal. Somewhat comical that I solved the leak with £6 worth of neoprene and 20mins of my time tracing and cutting new weather seals for behind the rear light clusters. That rust doesn't look too terrible, hard to tell from the pics if it has eaten its way back into the metal. Definitely can be salvaged either way. New weather seals can be found on ebay and seem to work. Check the weather seals behind the lights for good measure. Happy repairing 🙂

Cherished Plate
hockeyedwards replied to Archirob's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Generally it is what someone is willing to pay for what 'they want' the plate to be for their car. Less characters, popular or funny names/ words, popular car models (like the RCF on your plate) but imagine 'BMW', all generally drive the price up. I like 'cherished plates' but I am usually a minority and get heavily ribbed by friends/ family. I spent moderate money on my 777 KE, but my L400 JAP was fairly low. A quick search online to cherished reg businesses would put yours at £600-£1k, minus listing/ sale fees unless you cut that bit out 🙂 -
Yes, going to have a spare blade key cut regardless, just trying to get round having to go aftermarket central locking straight away and try keep some OEM-ness. Have kindly been gifted a spare genuine Lexus fob from @Razor61 and going to see if I can get that programmed to work. Luckily made good friends with the auto tech who fitted the starline to my GS F and he is gonna come try work some of his magic!

Might drive you mad (pun intended), but maybe spray lube something you may think is causing the sound. Go for drive round the block, try recreate the noise. Rinse and repeat until you have eureka moment! My LS had a squeak that turned out to be the drop link, took a lot of patience to find, as everything looked fine and technically was. Even when I took it off, didn't look particularly dry or damaged... Happy lubing 😆
