  1. I have renamed this car the 'Quack Edition'...
  2. Buttttt coz its from racing page, is it just a LC GT-something? Lexus main pages have been fairly good with recent teases, I was even intrigued by the new RZ450e. At the big 'ol launch where they said 25 (i think) new models, don't think an LC-F was accounted for? Alsoooo didn't the rumour mill kill that car and supposed twin turbo V8 that was also then rumoured to just be used in... racing 😞 IF it does come to fruition, much wantings, current LC's are a bargain but I'd hold out for an F!
  3. I am hopefully test driving the 2L twincharged and 3L 6 cyl in next few weeks, so will find out. Only ever driven 2 Volvo's - XC90 for 15mins to help a friend swap his cars around and a V70 R, which was such a sleeper and really enjoyable to drive. I wanted something a bit more modern so the V60 Polestar seemed like a good answer. Not a German estate car fan, wanted something bit unique but still had some power for 'spirited driving'.
  4. My PSS original tyres did it something awful, but they came with sod all tread on when I picked the car up in 2018, so thought nothing of it. I had a set of PS4's all round and with it being daily driven, lasted about 24k miles, didn't notice the same happening though, but I did wear them to the limit! I now have PS4S's (discount code made them as cheap as PS4) and they've been on the car since and still plenty of tread, no sign of same wear pattern but would admit with use of other cars, lockdown and a job much closer to home, mileage has been reduced from 12k per year to 4ish.
  5. 1. Get rid of the rot boxes, get seat covers and let it be your F be 'everything', more excuse to clean it regularly as well, get decent pet hair removal tools (happy to recommend the ones I have, best things ever) and don't look back. 2. SORN it and keep it, when the time comes back around, still there to enjoy. Nothing is ever permanent in life (aside death and taxes), so your situation might change again and the F could be utilised once more and you'll thank yourself for not letting go. 3. Sell it, regret it, blame the wife, divorce her... depressive spiral 🤷‍♂️. My 2 cent in different situation - I am SORN'ing my F for a little while as insurance and tax renewal due (£££), just bought a unit, got my wedding in one month and then honeymoon coming up, rebuilding my LS too. So with F off road, probs getting a V60 Polestar (2L twincharged) as the daily/ and dog mobile. Mrs keeps her NX for work and can be used (as it currently is) for moving the dog about if required as well. I cannot let go of my F, so I'll do my best to work around the situation. Without sounding too stupid or like a therapist, it can be tough for non 'car people' to understand the attachment, but we all have them, just to different things, I'm sure your wife has things she'd find tough to let go of... Oh and explore finance to maybe keep costs down if you want something new and keep the F, can make better use of money rather than getting it locked into a car.
  6. Sooo I probs have DOT 4.55 then? 😆 combination of 4 and 5.1... only did a top up and quick bleed, might do a full change at some point then, car stops when I press the pedal, that's good right? 😉
  7. I asked my local dealer after my lil mishap, 5.1 was their answer.
  8. I have dealt with Lexus Swindon on two occasions, what a lovely bunch! Saw that RC F in the flesh late last year, it is a marmite colour in all fairness and would agree with others about it being a turn-off for most buyers, I wanted it for mine but with only 2 GS's in the UK, was going to take forever most likely to source! It is wonderful in the flesh imo. Also echo the comments regarding Swindon and F cars, they have got it down to a fine art if you ask me, might get some money off or bits thrown in, if it moves it on then I can't see too much of a fight. Unfortunately those discussing the supercharger, I've heard from overseas users that unless the conditions are bone dry, the car is essentially undriveable. I was interested at one point, but with the UK weather and reflection on whether I needed the extra horses, I bought an exhaust instead 🙂 Two V8's in the line-up, about to try and add a 6 cylinder, the heart wants what the heart wants... if you get cold, just put more layers on and cold showers are good for mental health 😛 Look forward to welcoming you to F club 😉
  9. Known problem as mentioned above, could be worth a go on the 'ol welder, I think a few people have replaced them with PPE ones as I'd imagine OEM might be a smidge hard to come by and maybe ££.
  10. Interesting info guys, good research. Definitely keep it in mind when ours comes up for renewal. I remember the first time I used the cover on my Abarth, was told over the phone 'your cover doesn't include that' - after discussion with I presume a supervisor, they then apologised and arranged the call out, followed by 'that's an amazing cover'. I've only ever used it for my non-Lexus cars and being a passenger in friends cars, always gives me a giggle on how good the cover is.
  11. Life is too short to worry about embarassment, go to an indy and get it fixed, then sell it on knowing it is in working order and you can detail the 'recent work' carried out in your for sale description, win win! If you are set on getting rid without spending any more money, ebay 'spares or repair' - and in the description just state what you know. Be prepared to be messed around A LOT, answer stupid questions and receive stupid offers, part and parcel of the experience and then pay the ebay fees and probably let the car go for less than what you wanted, but at least it's gone. If that doesn't work, as the saying usually goes I'll give you £5 and a packet of haribos!
  12. keep it of course 😄 'keep in the collection' if I wanted to sound like a knob 😆
  13. In the same boat regarding the GSD, when the Mrs is at school and I'm off, he doesn't go in the F, trying to source a dog-mobile! I've been looking at Volvo V60 Polestar, 2014-2016 has 3L six cylinder and 2017 onwards has a twincharged 2L 4pot, mid to high 300hp range, so plenty of punch. Weighing up the pros and cons of each engine, as well as trying to find some within reasonable distance to test drive. I like non-mainstream cars. As above, what is the rough budget and maybe some more sensible offers could be made 😄
  14. Was only a matter of time, good move on their part!
  15. When is the next meet up then? 😛 I can post-pone the wedding if needs be... 😆 I'll be at FoS this year and might do Beaulieu as that was a hoot last time a bunch of Lexi attended, see if some scrambles are on, just wanna talk cars 😄
  16. Well looks in an imaculate state, compared to some of other ones we've seen out for sale asking strong money. Nice to see it in all honesty. Something to aim for! 😛
  17. Whilst I don't think it is 'common', I think it is something that has happened a few times due to the design. I believe a few members have done it as mentioned above as a preventative measure, hopefully a few more will comment. Whilst you ponder on it, get some quotes and then decide if you want to get it done or DIY it 🙂
  18. Go to the JapFest thread as depending on where you are coming from, a few groups have arranged meet up points 🙂
  19. Not enough Lilac... otherwise I'd buy it! 😆
  20. I'm also in the UK? 2016 model year, so there is only one way it's going and that is up!
  21. Bargain compared to the £600+ over here on a 16 plate! 😆
  22. Dodged a bullet, riddle with issues I'm afraid, got pictures of some with corroded ECU pins from water ingress, lovely cars but nothing more than eye candy for me.
  23. I think on this thread, the car has been discussed and I don't think there was anything bad about its history (may be corrected by another member). In terms of the Lexus Relax warranty, maybe have a read to yourself if you haven't already, just to see what it may or may not cover. High mileage shouldn't be an issue if its been cared for and I don't know of any issues that show themselves with our cars (yet)! If it ticks your boxes and you do your checks on the car, then we'd love to welcome you over to F-club! If other members don't add any useful info, I will have a scroll about in the mean time to see if anything comes to light 🙂
