  1. Has been around for a while, I want the wheels to then have summer and winter set up, but not at £1k a piece. Engine and gearbox could make for a fun transplant 😛
  2. Now would be the time to get out if you were thinking about it. As you say, you've ticked the box in essence. After this summers car events/ antics, my F will be SORN and live in the garage for a bit, going to be away a lot later in the year, so will run a more suitable dog-mobile over winter and then put the F back on the road when time comes. Funnily enough, just had my tax reminder through in the post, always shed a small tear. If you want out quick, head to a dealer and accept a lower price or stick it out for a bit on autotrader, seems to a few IS F's up for sale atm, maybe people with similar ideas. I remember when there were 1-2 floating about max!
  3. I am currently running my F as a temp dog-mobile. Have covered rear seats to avoid nail marks in the leather, no issues so far. My GSD just lays down and nods off haha. I would admit they are fairly short journies, max 1 hour at the moment. I would conceed that I don't fancy a drive to Spain as @Womble72would be doing, bit cramped for his and my liking I'd imagine. I would presume they didn't cover the plastics very well in the car you mentioned and the dog was a keen window surfer, ha?!
  4. Well, super glad we held out from swapping in our 2017 NX to a new one, me likey this RX and reckon I could sneak the 500h past the Mrs 😛
  5. Long time since I ventured over to the NX side of the forums 🙂 we are due to take our friends from abroad to Scotland for some hiking adventures later this year. To do this comfortably with dog, 4 people and luggage, need a roofbar/ box set up. I would always opt for Thule having worked alongside their products in the past, but saw that LPD has a decent reduction on some of the genuine accessories for the NX. So - anyone used the Lexus genuine accessories, any comments? Same goes for Thule items or any other suggestions welcome. 2017 NX300h with flush rails.
  6. Knowing what they paid at BCA, which I am sure would have occured fees on top, would be still be very inclined to low ball them for a quick sale/ turnaround/ profit, yano if I had the cash under my pillow and wasn't buying all the cars I dream about daily 🤣
  7. If it was a bit more middle-ish I would be keen, otherwise its a fair distance to travel, not that I don't enjoy driving the car for that long, just got to get it passed by the Mrs 😛
  8. Very much the Japanese and Toyota way, continuous small improvements over time, which I admire, but is unfortunately why sometimes they fall short in the market as it evolves so quickly. I do miss the 'nutty' Jap car era, where gentlemens agreements were made and immediately broken haha. The GR brand gives me hope! I guess because my GS came with the electronic park brake, I had assumed RC would too, oops!
  9. Only just noticed this comment, can't believe RC's still have the foot parking brake pedal, my 96 LS has that! 😆 Do all the RC's have it out of interest? Bit antiquated isnt it?
  10. Surely it gives photo evidence? If not then you obviously have the right to request it be provided, especially considering your concerns. Could be a blue Lexus sporting the plate, rather than an IS F, not like they are very diligent before issuing the notice... Sorry that it has happened to you either way though.
  11. Fight it, there have been other members in the same situation who were given the same spiel who had it overturned after some push back - that is, if you are that bothered? Regarding the void of Lexus Relax is also nonsense, so if a brake caliper fails, that was the fault of the spark plugs not being changed? 😛 I would say fair if a tip broke off from a plug etc but outside of that, really scraping the barrell for excuses. What dealer do you use, Guildford or Reading? Also as a piece of advice, if you plan to keep the car for the forseeable future (at least 2 years), then pay for the services in advance or a payment plan. I have purchased the last 4 services up front and received a decent discount, locks the price in and eases the financial burden. Monthly payments also locks in the price, but less likely to receive discount.
  12. Live and die by the spreadsheet! 😛 If you can account for all ingoing/ outgoing money, you can sit back and look at a distance at where savings could be made, are you getting the best deals for your luxuries, do you need said luxuries etc Also, quite simply, make your money work or if the offer is good, make someone elses do work for you! If it is sitting in the bank accumulating a naff % then you might as well just go spend it. Has to be invested, there are so many ways to do so but I don't tell people where - it is all a risk and blindly following someone is a bad strategy. Talk to financial advisors, investment companies etc. Small to mid size are best, they tend to make a % off your gains so it is in their interest to advise correctly and safely, rather than just take an upfront fee, pocket it and then not give two poops about your actual investment 🙂
  13. I have never bought a new car, the Mrs who has been driving for far less time than me has had 2 of her 3 cars be from new 😛 I see that the current climate comes with opportunities as well as drawbacks, I'll never give up on car dreams (LFA!), maybe modify the strategy or move the timeline a bit, but never deterred! I think a big factor is money management and use of financial tools. I live off a spreadsheet personally, maybe a bit strict for some, but I am very much a control freak, love to know what is coming in and what is going out, always base plans off 'worse case scenarios' and then know what is afforable and living within means, with the odd splurge here and there as rewards for being a good boy 😆 I completely realise the current climate has impacted everyone in different ways and a few close friends have been hit harder than the rest of us, but I still think that a reassessment of how they use/ save money would ease the strain, but as always, it can be a tricky subject to talk about. I also echo the comments regarding Lexus, I'll wait it out for now and see what comes around, not that I think the F or LS are going anywhere, the NX might become the newer shape once used prices start to come in or maybe an RZ (a shock to those knwoing my EV thoughts and comments of late) 😛
  14. Sweet baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph for that matter, what an absolute bargain! Should have bought it as my dob-mobile! 🤣
  15. They do come off with some 'persuasion', took them off to clean whilst switching OEM system out for the GTHaus. I used a very heavy mallet, but used a block of wood to hit, with a tshirt scrunched up and taped to it to save the thin edges on the back portion of the tips. I used a heavy mallet so I could 'tap' lighter but it really needed a solid few whacks to dislodge.
  16. Sensible 😛 depends how much V8 noise you want, mid-pipe is where the noise can be gained the most. Do update with pics when you've altered the wheels and de-chromed 😄
  17. Congrats and welcome to being a fellow F-er! Always good to have a new car clean to your own standard. Forum is full of topics or you can just ask and everyone is easy going and happy to help 🙂 What are your thoughts on adding to it, or are you content as is?
  18. Youtube video incoming titled 'I bought the cheapest Lexus IS-F in the UK' and then do the jankiest repair job on it ever! 🤣
  19. Couldn't be bothered to clean it for the pics I see 😞
  20. Hi @DavidCM, welcome and good choice coming to Lexus! 😉 Unfortunately you are in the wrong area. If you go back to the list of models and scroll down past F club, towards the bottom you'll see RC200t, RC300h etc, hopefully other owners will reply to you on there once you've posted, maybe a mod will be kind enough to move the thread for you. The US forums can be a good place to have a scan too as they tend be be a bit more daring with mods, happy hunting!
  21. one of us... one of us... 🤣
  22. https://forms.lexus.co.uk/EBrochures/Lexus_GSF_e-brochure.pdf Colour options at the bottom, it was available 😄
  23. I have never seen one, that's for certain. I know a while back someone did post the number of each colour car on UK roads, could be worth a search if you were that keen or maybe they'll post again and jog memory! I do not recall red on the list and Orange was the rarest with 2 examples, could be wrong.
  24. Merc V8's more recently were a cross plane and then the AMG GT Black Series has a flat plane, which is all the journalists could talk about as it was clearly a point Merc wanted across, not that your average joe probs cared about/ knew the difference 😄
  25. I mean if money was no problem and/or I were to take up collecting Lexi, I'd definitely have one. @Rob RCF I'll remain pessimistic and then be pleasantly surprised for the announcement of an LC F and immediately go to the dealer and pre-order one without telling my soon to be wife 😄
