  1. Not to add any fuel to the fire. Captured from FB group. Funny how in the US, it seems to be replaced under warranty...
  2. Although it isn't quite the same, I had a 695 Biposto as a run around for a bit and drove it to work Mon-Fri and getting in the F on the weekend was just other worldly! It would be the ultimate yin and yang if you add an exhaust haha 😛 I love the idea of the 500h but the Mrs wants something 'economical', so I might gloss over the fact it will be a 'performance' hybrid and just leave it at hybrid. I've been reading some of the forum comments on actual MPG, which seem promising for the 350h and 450h+ in NX form. I know a total petrol head who bought a Tesla due to tax reasons for his business, it was a no brainer, so I can understand, but as you will, he still has a combustion engine for pleasure!
  3. Saw them at FOS and EV show, really did look the business. I am with you on the trying other brands/ not buying the norm! We are holding out with our current NX300h until the new RX comes to dealers and then we will decide what to do and whether to stay hybrid or add a BEV. I do like the RZ look but fear it'll be too small. Hope all goes well and maybe it'll add an extra bit of smile when you swap over and fire up the F as a treat 😉
  4. With the AT ones and now this valuation, mine just keeps going up and up. Soon I'll trade it in for an LFA... 🤣
  5. Just to clarify - you have auto on and have engaged main beam by pushing stalk forward and the blue dash light goes on/ off whilst motorway driving? If it is doing it with traffic around then it will react to oncoming headlights, rear side lights and sometimes bright reflection from signs and that is behaving correctly. If it is cycling on and off with no traffic around, signs or reflective surfaces etc then it is not behaving correctly, check the sensor is not obscured/ fogged up?
  6. If they rang you out of the blue, they've obviously got a customer after one. I'd say that's good/ fair money. If you need the money/ want to swap/ upgrade/ downgrade etc then considering a private sale would likely take a while, I would go for it. If you are going to get something else through the dealer, I would chance your arm and ask for more - they'll be getting your repeat business and potentially making a quick sale to this other customer...
  7. Thanks for the info on the GivEnergy front, I had done most of my research around Growatt as my installer at the time could give me a better lead time than if I went with GivEnergy. The Earth concern was noted at my dads property especially due to age and location but I believe some back and forth between the grid and the installer produced a solution (it escapes me what the conclusion was).
  8. @Shahpor no problem man, it is usually a guarded topic by many discussing financial outlay, which I totally understand but it is a complete minefield in a booming industry and businesses are essentially making the prices up. Seems you are on the right path which is good news. I would potentially swap out our NX to a plug in just for the cheap rate charge haha, could actually be useful 😛 The Zappi is decent, again my dad has 2 and the whole system 'talks' really well and managed via app and he's a fussy git so must be good to keep him happy!! If you want an Eddi, order now its already an 8 week wait 😞 and make sure you get the new gen and don't get lumped with an old gen for new pricing (old has one aerial and new has two). Another small tip, saves you getting it added in later, but having the battery doesn't actually truly take you 'off grid' if the power goes out, you're still stuffed. Need to add in a 'switch over box' which then allows you to use your battery energy in place of the grid, should it go out due to damage or for repair etc. Currently doing a nerdy 'energy audit' on our appliances to see real world consumption and swapping stuff out for more energy efficient items, the dive is deep! 🤣
  9. My house was new build and came with solar panels, admittedly now 6 years ago so were a bit behind tech wise, so I filled my roof with 12 new panels, new inverter and added a 6kwh battery and due another 6kwh to be installed next week. I ordered in May and they installed in September after 2 push backs. 12 Hyundai 410w panels, Growatt inverter and 6.5 kwh battery with scaffolding and fitting cost me £9990. The new battery will cost me £3k but they are waiving install fee as I had my previous one through them. If you looked on Deege Solar website, they give you 'bundle prices' - I would say my package equivalent would now cost me £13-14k (plus the £3k for new battery). I used Deege Solar, as they had done a big install on my dads house and an enourmous one down the road on a farm to replace diesel generators. However, they are booking for installs half way into next year and think they will likely have to push those dates back as supply/ demand starts to skew even more. If you are interested, ordering sooner (atm) is better. The owner of Deege Solar said that currently his month on month buy in price for the equipment is raising 6% each time! Make sure whoever you order with is established and not just jumping on the hype to make a quick buck. They should do a sun-path analysis and advise what you would benefit from most. I am totally obsessed with it. I manage the battery charge/ discharge through an app and about to add an Eddi to divert solar excess to heat hot water. GivEnergy and Growatt would be my go-to for components. Also if you go with Octopus as your provider and have an EV, you get a cheap overnight charge rate. Happy hunting!
  10. I'm more gutted the 450h+ is the only one with the Sonic Copper! Want to see one in the flesh, wonder what lead times are like? (rhetorical) 🤣
  11. I can sense you are a bit miffed and rightly so. Sounds like a case of 'we can't be bothered'. What is baffling to me and probably anyone else that reads your spiel. There is a known problem... you have the symptoms of said problem... a Lexus 'master tech' acknowledges the noise of said problem, yet neither them or Lexus UK want to move on it.. WTF?! I would ask Lexus UK directly, if you were to get a second opinion, who would they accept as 'credible'? Maybe a known specialist or another dealer? Also the 'what if it isn't that problem' is such a fobbing off, they should start to do it, then if it isn't that, call you and explain and say it is XYZ, it'll cost ABC to fix it, but if you don't want us to do it, then it'll cost you DEF because of the labour time we've spent so far - that is fair and to me, the correct way to go about things. If I had my be a **** cap on (it comes out now and again). I would go to another Lexus dealer, explain the situation, pay them to inspect and diagnose. Then go back to your original dealer and rub it right in their face that it is the exact issue you have mentioned, then demand them and/or Lexus UK to reimburse you for the trouble of having to get diagnosis done (for an obvious problem that meets the service bulletin criteria) before being 'believed' and then once they agree to reimburse you (it is the minimum they should do as good will for wasting your time), go and get the recall done at the other dealer that helped diagnose and switch to getting your servicing/ MOT done there (if you get it done by Lexus). An all around 2 fingers up to this dealer that in my eyes (and i am sure, yours too) is slacking, to the point that they've essentially lost your business.
  12. I have ventured back over here to simply express my love for our NX. We have a 67 plate F-Sport, it has just ticked over 75k this week after having completed our 5th Scotland trip in it. These trips tend to be anywhere between 1300-1700 miles in a week (1300ish this time around), it is hands down the best thing we've owned reliability, comfort and driveability. It has a dedicated winter wheel/ tyre set up, which have proven their worth on a previous Xmas time trip to the NW, which was ice city, roof bars/ box and averages between 29-32mpg fully loaded and this time including 4 people and a GSD, managed 31mpg for the trip. It has held up relatively well on the interior, considering the amount of wet, muddy and potentially careless passengers that have been in it. We have a full boot liner cover that protects it from dog claws etc and it looks mint underneath. I do clean it relentlessly to maintain as best it can. We have had precisely 0, zero, nil, zilch, f-all problems. Other than general consumables and repair to a minor car park scrape it received courtesy of a careless driver, it has required nothing of expense. We had planned to upgrade to the latest NX, but are now likely holding out for the new RX. The only minor 'issue' that could be said, we noticed that fully loaded with 4 people, luggage and a doggo, it did struggle just a smidge to get up some of the larger inclines Scotland has to offer, but considering they only last a few minutes its more a minor inconvenience than cause for concern. I would have no issue buying the car again at its current mileage, just an absolute bulletproof piece of kit and of course, with correct accessories, really is unstoppable!

  13. Someone should buy them all and start collecting them and manipulate the prices... can't think of ANY other manufacturers that have done the same 😛 🤣
  14. Nothing to suggest you did, merely mocking that regular Diesel is more expensive than Supreme 99!
  15. Expensive putting diesel in isn't it 😉 🤣
  16. All you need to do is slap the roof and add 'All yours for £56990' and that could have been a sales pitch! 😂😂
  17. I have a CTEK for the LS in the workshop, considering the F is my 'daily' was hoping to be driving enough to not warrant needing one at home. I also have a NOCO, brilliant bits of kit has only been used on neighbours/ friends cars ironically!
  18. Yes they can! Picked mine up with around 14k miles on the clock and the pads were fooked. Glad they were to be honest as the dust was annoying enough, but had another more valid reason to change/ upgrade them! Could most definitely have been a track car, either that or '1 careful owner' as they always like to put 🤣
  19. Same thing happened to mine over Covid, all the short 'necessary' journies, compounded with sitting for ages didn't do it any good and the battery threw a tantrum. Would say that since putting a Yuasa Silver in, it started on the button after being away for almost a month and not a single issue since. As you say, maybe it new its time was coming! 😂
  20. Potentially different display parameters between the GS and RC, maybe I have naively presumed they would be the exact same system!
  21. I've just re-read this reply, you should be getting a visual confirmation on your dash that the cruise control is ready/ active and to say what speed the cruise control is at/ what you have adjusted it to?! It should appear on the left side of the instrument cluster, I would say that it's possible your seating/ steering wheel position may obscure your view, only because I can't see my indicator flash sometimes due to my positioning.
  22. Diamond cut can just be £££ to refurb if done correctly with diamond cut machine. Some can repair to 'look' but they aren't, however, is mucho cheaper!
