  1. I have a non AVS car (poverty spec haha), the ride is still phenomenal 🙂
  2. @RadicalCoupe-Fuji Welcome to F-club! Manual turbo to NA 8spd auto are very different indeed! SS/SS+ with manual mode = solution 😆, if I'm wafting about then usually auto and normal, but anything remotely spirited, into manual mode and SS/SS+ Few people have used the Apexi throttle controller with success, give the car and yourself some time and then you can decide if required 🙂
  3. I've always been that git who asks for Denso as they work miles better than any cheapy replacement. If they haven't been available I've just sourced them elsewhere.
  4. Won't know until 4th January (ish) whether I can attend, waiting on some diary dates to come through, if I am free then count me in 🙂
  5. Ooo, I was going to treat myself in the new year to some carplay. Might give this a bash after checking fitment. Thanks for the update and as Billy says, a big win to find it in the UK without requiring a remortgage! 😛
  6. I've never had an issue with Lexus Guildford, F serviced there past 5 years, wifes NX past 2. Have done a few things as good will gestures (which I didn't even ask for). Just took out another service plan for next 3 for the F and the NX is mid way through its current one. I have a long standing relationship myself as well as through my dad with the manager (as far back as his first RX!). Only drove to Cambridge as it had the spec and price I was willing to pay for the NX, but the sales guy was beyond useless and if the car wasn't such a good deal, would have walked away!
  7. Shows how we all have differing experiences, I cannot stand Lexus Cambridge haha, genuinely one of the least pleasant transactions we had purchasing the NX.
  8. The joining/ driving/ leaving is a good start. It would be something like meet at X at 11am, leave at 11:30, journey to Y, meet at 12:30pm etc. You'll need a mutual whatsapp or similar messaging group in case people are delayed with their own local traffic, or main group is running behind, you can then atleast give a heads up as to where the group is on the next leg etc or if they are only minutes away, holding on for them. The other snag is how 'spirited' drivers wish to travel along the route, some want a bit of adrenaline, others may prefer a cruise, but also being wary that some may ruin it for others. Grouping may be required if numbers get out of hand or pre-planning of 'spirited' sections, followed by some scenic cruising. I know there are 101 other things to consider, if you wanted to start a messaging group where a few could rattle some ideas around and then once it has a bit more structure, offer it out to wider club, I'd be keen to help, but don't want to overstep.
  9. Have done the most and experienced the best driving in Scotland. The NC500 is great as a bucket list type item, pic opportunities etc, but don't think it's a club type thing to drive (but I would certainly do it again). I would echo @Flytvr with the Cairngorms, even taking the NX up there in winter each year, I get a great kick out of driving. It is the only place I haven't been with my F, but have driven previously owned cars in and around the area. I would happily drive Hampshire to Scotland any time! Hope the idea manifests and becomes reality, I would certainly be a keen bean 🙂
  10. I reckon these fuel pipes must causing our interior carbon delamination.. @F.A. 🤣
  11. @Blackbeard, you are definitely suffering/ enjoying right foot fever 😉, I drove mine into single digit MPG when first getting it, now get mid 20's on the daily and 30's on motorway cruises. you can mitigate any brake squeal and the well known excessive brake dust from the stock pads by swapping them out, good few of us have EBC reds with no complaints, OEM stopping performance with no squeal and much less dust, there are of course, other options out there. heated seats are fine if i am in spring/ summer wear, but would say compared to the wifes NX lack in 'power' when I have a jacket or thick jumper on... re: your carbon idea, look up RC F Carbons on le google or autotrader, they came with said features, so might save you some hassle/ labour to find out you don't like it!
  12. @Rob RCF had his done after some persuasion, mine is already 6 years old, but I was going to do it myself but honestly forgot, so with service due soon, I'll be asking them to do it on mine too 🙂
  13. Sorry to hear about your troubles, especially at a time of year where we are meant to be in a seasonal frenzy! A cracked rib is awful, literally just have to suck up the pain until it heals. No laughing, crying, deep breathes, coughs, standing, sitting, lying, walking too fast, jumping, jogging - yano, all the fun stuff! Few pieces of medical advice to maybe save you some additional anguish, ditch the Naproxen, as an anti-inflammatory it will do you no good and is notorious for being harsh on your stomach and making you feel a bit iffy. If set on an anti-inflammatory, Ibuprofen will be more than enough with less of the nasty side effects. Paracetamol may not be strong enough as pain relief, so possibly consult your GP for some additional pain relief or over the counter something a bit stronger from local pharmacy to mix in on your more active/ painful days. Might sound a little stupid, but make sure you stay warm, even if it is a little into the breaking a sweat zone, being cold and breathing with a broken rib do not mix well! P.S. I realise accepting internet advice has never been received well, but, my previous career was a consultant physiotherapist, with prescribing ability 🙂
  14. Thanks Bernie, I was referring to Papa Munchy as maybe having missed it. I have EBC reds in mine front and rear 😄
  15. Times are tough and realistically isn't going to slow any time soon. If you can give yourself some peace and sleep better, then it is the right decision. At least you aren't digging yourself into a financial hole just to uphold an 'image'. Always a shame when head and heart conflict, but maybe down the line when things settle, the opportunity will come around for you to own again. Plenty of members have gone and returned. Best of luck with the sale and some easing of your woes!
  16. Must have missed it, quite a few of us discussed it but it was a little while back. All who swapped the pads out, resolved the squeal, the OEMs are also infamous for the amount of brake dust given off. There are plenty of pad options available, all down to budget and preference. As mentioned above, won't get anywhere with Lexus directly.
  17. @Malc1 not far to go!
  18. Just doing my hourly AT check... 🤣 down to £50,980. My original bet still stands 😉
  19. Congrats on your impending purchase and welcome to F club! A truly great car and becoming an ever popular choice for dino juice enthusiasts 😛 Plenty of reading available on the forums re: mods/ upgrades, but as always feel free to ask questions! I had a CT as my sensible car back when we were purchasing the house and buying all things that go with them, but as soon as finances settled, it was traded in for my F, so a fair jump! Had an SC430 in the family back when I was a kid, lovely car. My dad had 3 gens of RX and never had a single issue with any, really bomb proof, so as you'll know, the wife is safe with that! Jealous you can PPF your own car, mildly amusing that you can't get time with yourself though 🤣, echo the sentiments above, times to put some miles on that V8 and enjoy the endless grins they'll bring!!! Oh and some obligatory pics are required when you get it 😉
  20. Said 'bonkers' noise with a full system haha!
  21. joined_video_0f729a34cc6649f59d298f2b077bfecf.MP4.b65a4d8cf3c47ef5f94a1f07d4cc2864.MP4 IMG_4128.mov.270a18273aae569fdef59881eab2d0f5.mov GSF_pull.mp4.4a562dd95c62ddd7742949ea40837db5.mp4 QS backbox has been good from what owners have said and what I've heard. I think it'll be loud and you'll have to get used to 'loud all the time' as you have no valves. The mid pip really does give you the biggest noise gain due to the decat. Unless you get headers, which then just make it on the bonkers end of the spectrum. Clips above 😄
  22. Servicing will be fine with Lexus, warranty will also be fine as long as the aftermarket part does not cause the fault/ failure, i.e the brake caliper has a problem... hardly related to an aftermarket exhaust! Only other thing I didn't mention was insurance, just make sure you update them/ get a quote including the system. @Hatat I will try and find the old uploads of mine for cold start/ drive bys etc 🙂
  23. A few things: When I say it's loud, it is a monster, the mid pipe is a decat (more on that further down) so I hope you have forgiving neighbours for cold starts or live in the middle of nowhere. Although the back boxes are valved (if purchased too), it is still damn loud. They should slip onto your OEM system fine and utilise existing exhaust mounts etc. Running the wires/ hoses for the back box valves is the only fiddly bit that you need to work out where you want routed. It will drone, but if you are good at caressing the throttle and keeping at a certain RPM when cruising it could be fine, or just play your music loud haha! The decat. Everyone and their mums cat has got an opinion BUT, it is an MOT failure. Although many cars will pass emissions tests without secondary cats, the wording is ANY modification of OEM emissions equipment is a failure (regardless of a passed emission test). Now, whether your average garage KNOWS that the secondary cats are missing and/ or cares is another discussion. That is for you to make your peace with either way 🙂 My only true negative was, my one had the valves seize open on the back boxes, simply because I never closed them. So periodic opening and closing may prevent this, or possibly I was just unlucky. Now the great bits as alluded to in my opening statement, its LOUD! You really unleash the NA V8, the idle is magnificent and low rev rumbles are just superb, bouncing off the limiter is beyond a dream. If you like NA V8's, then this exhaust will make you feel whole haha! It will be a talking point amongst car people, you'll get chatting to other V8 lovers, just because engine go brrrr 😛
  24. Rare factor could play in our favour if enough of us banded together. 7 of 70 is 10% of cars in UK experiencing same problem... I would be up for a group letter of some sort. I know it is impacting RC F owners too, so could gain more numbers that way. Mine is only getting worse, will see how cheap/ expensive a repair would be and maybe suggest Lexus good-willing that cost!
