That’ll be stunning. The green is awesome in the sun. -
That’s a very good way of quality testing. My roofer won’t let his power tools get wet, dusts them off every evening, and sweeps up every single day. Heating engineer has a very tidy van too. Both trustworthy and do a great job. My garage… utter carnage.

I think he’s American. They can still buy the LC and we can’t because Europe. Or polar bears. Or ULEZ. Or something. -

Cadoxton Slate. A good bit of metallic fleck in it…but you know you really want yellow. I’d love a yellow one. -
Now add another three, then find some snow!

Odd it’s not on autotrader - I’d have thought that was where most sales leads came from. Sticking something like an LC up for sale without an autotrader ad is a strange strategy. Looks like it could be a really good buy. Enjoy electricity for a while… you’ll be back!

I think earlier convertibles have dropped ten grand since I bought a year ago, with maybe a little more to go… but summers coming so who knows! Find me another non turbod V8 convertible with a ten year warranty that sounds, looks and is built like this! Do it! -

Definitely a buyers market for anything high end. As a potential buyer it’s worth downloading the autotrader price tracker plug in that shows previous prices - some Jags and Land Rovers are showing five figure reductions over several months of advertising certain cars. My local dealers dark blue base LC500 started off at 68k and is now IIRC just under 60. The Auto100 sport plus was advertised in august and has been reduced by £9300 since then - a real incentive to live without an ML stereo! Bargains to be had, but it’s a catching a falling knife scenario timing it right! -
Cant get 2022 Lc500H to work with Link+?

Depends what year it is. The only big update the LC tech has had is for 2023, apart from the addition of CarPlay for ‘21 - it’s such a low volume car perhaps it’s not been worth the investment in tech improvements. Lexus have instead concentrated on the drive, tweaking chassis etc almost on a yearly basis. -

Now they’ve stopped importing it’s quite an interesting topic - with only around 300 LC in the country with a normally aspirated Euro 6 compliant V8 maybe it could be a candidate for a collectible modern classic in the future. It’s a futureproof modern classic - Euro 6 petrols won’t get hounded out of our cities for decades yet. Right? Right?! A lot of the Americans on the clublexus forums seem convinced it’ll be a classic at some point, and they can still order them. The Z8 was lower volume and the James Bond connection maybe helped cement its classic status, but hey, we’ve got Black Panther? As it is, spotting any LC in the wild is an event, regardless of roof or propulsion. They don’t make em like they used to 😂 -
Potential LC500 Owner after a little advice

I think the standard fit stereo is Pioneer with 12 speakers. The only two options are the 13 speaker ML and the HUD. ML can be spotted as Colin’s said by the logo on the rear seat centre or the logo under the CD player. HUD can be spotted by a missing section on the dash top where the ‘projector’ is, or by looking at the row of dash buttons to the right of the steering wheel where the fuel flap release is. Wheels are crazy money new and very tricky to refurb, but there are companies that can do it - I know Lexus Stockport know of a company that is capable of refurbing the 21 inch chromes. The biggest driving difference (from what I’ve read/watched) is the sport plus having the rear wheel steer plus variable ratio rack plus LSD. Mines a convertible sport plus without rws as there’s no room for it to be fitted. Brochure download here with specs, options etc : LC500 UK brochure -
Apart from sport plus (rear wheel steer etc)or sport there are only two options - the mark levinson 13 speaker stereo to replace the standard 12 speaker pioneer, plus a HUD which also comes with keyless entry I think. Everything else is standard. Seats vs sports seats - hardly any difference other than a tiny bit more side support on the sports seats. It’s a Lexus so it’s nowhere near an AMG sports seat in terms of comfort - mines got sports seats and they’re genuinely the most comfortable seats I’ve had. Do bear in mind the ten year warranty - as far as I know you could buy privately or from a non Lexus dealer, put the car into Lexus for a service and get another twelve months warranty on it.

LC 500 Structural blue limited edition for sale

I’ve seen a structural blue one and it’s a stunning colour. -

I completely agree but we’re kind of stuck with what’s on offer - either use cheap visible deterrents which can be removed with grinders etc, or fit immobilisers and so on which will theoretically stop the car being stolen but don’t show any signs they’ve been fitted. I suppose belt and braces is the best option. The perfect solution : Lexus remove their vehicles from the top ten of the stolen car market. Recall all affected cars, add immobiliser or wholesale change of the canbus system (retro fit of immobiliser is probably cheaper and quicker). Simples. Thieves realise the cars anre unstealable, and move onto something else. Value and image of used Lexus increases, dealers can sell more, owners can get sensibly priced insurance again. Downside : forum traffic goes down by several percentage points! Over to you Lexus.

The ultimate solution is an insurance approved tracker and immobiliser - I have a scorpion on mine - no fob, no start. Downside is it’s invisible so the bumper and so on would be in pieces and the thieves inside the car before they realise it can’t be moved without a tow truck. Steering lock is a very good and very visible deterrent too.
-
It’s not just the ES! It’s every bl**dy Lexus built in the last five years or so. As I’ve said before, this is a reputation destroyer - Lexus should take the initiative and offer free immobilisers to every affected vehicle, and quickly, while we can still get insurance.

End of new LC and RC-F availability in Europe ?
eightk replied to rsdave's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
End of another era! The LC has vanished from the Lexus website completely but Toyotas website says “The GR Supra is currently unavailable to order. Contact your local dealer to discuss placing an order for a GR Prius or some crappy front wheel drive hybrid SUV instead” -
Dubai, where I’d guess thieves get their hands chopped off. Yes please.

My LC needed a tracker for the insurance. Completely invisible and not a deterrent at all. I’ve stuck a Scorpion sticker on the windscreen and upgraded to include an immobiliser so at least the car theoretically can’t be started, although the bumper and wheelarch liner will already have been ripped to bits by that point. Hopefully the sticker will put them off 😐 I cannot express in words exactly how pee’d off I am with Lexus doing nothing at all to sort this. Yes RX owners have invisible steel plates on offer, if you’re lucky enough to find out about them via this excellent forum, but it doesn’t stop the initial damage unless EVERY car is protected through software changes or free immobiliser fitting for EVERY car at risk via an official manufacturers recall. Oh, and I specifically asked the service guy in my dealer last week which new Lexus are still at risk. He was adamant a new RX is still vulnerable. That’s not what I’ve read on here. Hopefully he’s wrong.
