  1. Scrub that - check out the pics on the Lexus LC 500 Regatta at Lexus Edinburgh thread - looks like light beige mats?
  2. Yeah the tan interiors get tan mats so I'd guess a Regatta would get dark blue? Or white 🤣
  3. Screengrabs shamelessly stolen from clublexus / Lexus Poland - it looks like the 2024 model will be losing the clock and gaining a touchscreen with idrive style control and a 360 camera system, together with some new colours. Not sure on the new dash personally but the ultrasonic blue paint looks very attractive.
  4. Cloudy and not that warm. Climate concierge doesn’t care. It’s very clever!
  5. Was this at a dealer? There are a couple of white ones on AT now. Won’t be a hybrid though because the hood goes where the battery would fit.
  6. I’ve now got the controller in my sweaty hands. Thanks Martin. Fitting imminent…
  7. Meeee please. Can we PM on here?
  8. Maserati amazed me on two points - the noise and also rust protection, or lack of it. Basic black aerosol’d subframes and sheet metal components underneath. No stone chip or thought to water drainage. The front suspension arm mounts must have been deliberately designed specifically to collect mud and water. I got off very lightly with mine as the subframes were excellent but there were plates behind the headlights that had lost all their paint and were very close to disintegrating - and that’s only at 6 years old. I’ve seen forum photos of newer cars that have failed mots on corrosion. Frightening.
  9. Bump and a question for K22MDL - what’s holding your front plate on? I’ve removed the big black plastic mounts as they look crap - rear is ok with double sided 3m tape but on the front (also shortened like yours) plate I’ve had to use two stainless self tappers through the gaps in the grille where the original plastic mounts screwed in. Can’t see any screws on yours - how did you do yours?
  10. Ouch. Brand new - yes I’d also guess the dealer or transport people damaged it, it wouldn’t have left Team Takumi like that. Mines the same colour but slightly secondhand, first time I saw it was at the point of delivery from the other end of the country. Got off lightly there I think. It’s now PPF’d so I can happily disappear backwards into hedges and stuff without worrying about scratching it… It’s honestly well worth the wait. Awesome things. Best of luck with round 2!
  11. Ah ok thanks Brett. Bit disappointed tbh - for the price it should have many leather bound books and manuals. I’ve seen the pack on eBay but Lexus can’t tell me what’s actually in it! Might just buy it and see if it’s different to what I already have, I can always send it back I suppose.
  12. ...because all I have is a single handbook in a black wallet. No service book, no quick start guide or anything, just one manual. Looking at ebay (US site specifically) there's loads in the book pack. What did yours come with? PS I love this car!
  13. Dark blue with blue hood and the Regatta interior will look lovely. I part exchanged a Maserati to get the Tunbridge one - my guess is I was 5k off where I could have been with cash but I was trying to sell for 12 months solid. Maserati and private sale is an impossibility! There was also a red on red car near Southampton that appeared just as I decided to go for one - that's also sold within about a week of me getting mine. They're so rare but do seem to sell - if you know... you know.
  14. This does sound like a design fault. Plastic where metal should have been used. What should happen now is Lexus should update the part with wilksy’s idea. That’s what a quality brand should do anyway. I’d show the dealer who said it’s not covered under warranty this thread which clearly says other owners have had theirs replaced.
  15. That’s good news. I think shipping can be well over a month but it’ll definitely be worth the wait. Regatta Edition - very nice - what colours did you spec?
  16. Thank you! Yes it comes with a bag, and it probably covers almost half the boot floor when it’s in there. Bit of a knack to sliding it into the boot too, as it’s just two full pieces without folding sections to reduce the width. Better than my non genuine Maserati deflector was - that didn’t fit in the boot full stop.
  17. Savagegeese ended up buying one I think - he’s done lots of LC videos, all incredibly positive. One of the good bits is when he has them up on a ramp examining the suspension etc. Very in depth videos, well worth a watch. TheSmokingTire / Matt Farah has also reviewed both the coupe and the convertible - it’s his convertible review that’s partly responsible for me going for a soft top over cheaper coupes…
  18. Quite a lot of new convertible activity! I’m now the owner of the red over all-black Tunbridge Wells car. its a deeply impressive bit of kit. Early days yet.. it’s very very good in so many areas - quality, looks, equipment, noise, refinement. Re the wind deflector the current price is £1163 for the genuine Lexus part. I managed to negotiate one into the deal. It’s better than the cabriosupply one from what I can tell as it has snug fitting white rubber inserts to all four ‘feet’ so I can’t imagine it’ll rattle, whereas the cabriosupply one looks a bit more industrial looking with welded steel construction on show. Just need some decent weather to test it!
  19. Good decision sticking with a sensible 5 litre V8. I think a better photo would be nice 😂
  20. Red/black at Tunbridge Wells? It won't be there next week 😁
  21. His gearbox comments are the opposite of every other journalist that's driven the LC as far as I can see. It's set up as a six/eight speed with some overdrives, and yes it'll change up quick if it's in Comfort. I will be able to report in further detail next week 😁
  22. That’s all useful stuff thanks. The back seat of the LC is clearly useless for an adult anyway…
  23. Germany don’t just burn coal, they burn lignite - one of the most polluting types of coal you can find. We are in our 8th year of EV ownership. Current EV is our 4th. We’ve always had petrol cars as well. EVs work great as low mileage company cars (low tax), second cars, city runabouts and OAP pop-to-the-shops use, but for long journeys they’re next to useless. For the uses I’ve listed they do make sense - Instant heating, thrash from stone cold, silent and nippy, super reliable (apart from our Tesla) - they do have a lot of positives. The environment doesn’t come into it for the vast majority of EV buyers - it’s zero benefit in kind tax that’s the attraction. If that’s removed or brought in line with fuel powered cars most EV owners will be going back to ICE.
  24. Thanks all - that suggests that with radar cruise enabled it’ll self steer up to a point, to a similar standard to the Kia. Ping pong could be annoying though. I’ll have to try it on a test drive. Road surface, white line quality and so on do make a difference to how well my current car copes, but overall on long journeys on deserted toll roads it’s a game changer in terms of stress and driver input. On the M25 not so much…
  25. As above, I’m kidding about having a doze, but having done 8,000 miles across Europe last year in a Kia with lane keeping assist I’d like to make sure the Lexus is as capable. Resting fingers lightly on a steering wheel that the car is guiding and assisting makes long distance trips a lot easier.
