That's a lovely pic, shame about the plane (flyTVR?) photobombing in the background 😀

OEM are the Bridgestones but I’ve seen Michelin too - they must be runflats too. I’ve used Camskill before, also Openeo and even Asda Tyres (!). The one thing that concerns me with the LC is the chrome wheels - a clumsy fitter damaging them would outweigh any savings so when I need tyres I may well go via Lexus.
-
That’s why I said they had access. Not the database, access to it. I wasn’t intending to trigger a brex——-(insert a random series of letters here) argument but as I understand it unless they physically stop you in France/Spain/Portugal/Turkey etc they won’t know who owns the car. Biggest problem as you’ve said would be impounding - a return visit using the same plate could trigger that, which is probably why carrying a V5 showing when you took responsibility of the car is required. Sending fines out by post as they used to is no longer possible as far as I’m aware, so, err, yeah, I’d call that a benefit. Sorry! Being told on our last visit to Portugal that citizenship used to cost 15 euros and involved a single form done at the local post office whereas now it’s an absolute nightmare would be classed as NOT a benefit. All the above is what I think is current info, not necessarily what IS current, legal and correct.

Email should cover you if they stop you. I doubt any police are bothered though. I just had the email as I’d put a private plate on the car right before the trip through France and I had no problems last year. As far as I know brexit means the EU don’t have UK driver database access anymore so any speeding fines etc cannot be issued by post to the UK, they can only fine you if they physically stop you in country, or presumably if they spot you and your car is on a list of ‘most wanted’ foreign speeders. Don’t quote me on that though…

LC500 V8s back to mid £40k by end of year?
eightk replied to Flytvr's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Oh, and Southampton have a 2020 white over black/red convertible with 12k miles on it for 86500 - cheapest convertible for a while - no plate visible in the pics but I’m going to guess it’s GU70PYL the ex press car. Bet it’s got new tyres! -

The NI one suggests Lexus Belfast need a new advert writer - it’s a petrol 500h “with a 5 litre hybrid engine”. Duh. It’s also got “black wheels and a full de chrome”. Needs pics to gauge how ‘personalised’ it is. The Chester one was perfect in terms of price, spec and so on, for me anyway - if I’d been in the market for a coupe that one would have been right at the top of my list. Someone must have agreed! From watching what sells and what doesn’t, if it’s ‘right’ it sells within days or weeks, and if it isn’t it doesn’t. A couple of long term autotrader cars have lost a grand recently, and they’re still there gathering dust. On the flip side there was a red convertible up for less than a week (april/may I think) for example. Summers coming too, which may gee the market up. Just 16 V8s on autotrader this morning including that ab-so-bloody-lutely gorgeous orange convertible - that started north of 95k I think, now it’s 89999. -
To be honest for a low volume high performance car £700-odd for a front set of discs and pads isn't bad... upgrade-wise we all need to ask EBC for brake pads - you never know!
-
https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-lc-front-brake-pads/ UK website - genuine pads for £121 above. https://racingbrake.com/lc500/ Also found the above US site with performance pads listed but no idea if they’re any good. It is a shame EBC list pads but have never made any!

I always use HUD if it’s fitted, but I’m not sure I’d pay the £1500 or whatever it is as an option on a new car. The red Chester one does look good. Sensible-ish miles, decent colour scheme, top spec. -
Ferodo DS2500 were always the go to for upgraded pads, or EBC yellow or red stuff, don’t know if they make them for the LC though. US forum may be more useful as they mess with their cars more than we do. I HAVE A FAULT!!! Mine is going into Lexus shortly for new pads all round at 5,000 miles under warranty as it squeaks when stopping below walking pace - that last little period of stopping when in traffic, at lights etc. I requested cleaning and greasing but they said full replacement was the best option as it’s a known problem, at least on 2021 cars. I do wonder whether the replacements will be softer and wear faster. It does suggest a harder aftermarket pad might squeak too.

It’s getting to be a long list. No more than 45k, must have HUD, buyer WLTM perfect seat bolster… Oh, and for the first time in as long as I’ve been interested in them the two cheapest LC on autotrader are V8s not hybrids. -
Use that £15 solution on the fuel pump relay, a critical ECU or the starter motor solenoid and you’re good to (not) go. No point shutting the entire car down - the alarm won’t work with no power. Heck, even disabling something like the gear selector would be relatively easy - dismantle centre console, fit relay in line to gear selector ground, job done. That’d really confuse.

You big child 😂 Seriously though it’s bloody brilliant the way it switches between burbley comfort, peace and quiet and relaxed to a very tuneful sports car. Once everything’s proper hot it’ll do some excellent exhaust noises and as you say the rev matching blips are brilliant - way better than I could do. Rev limiter upshifts are mental too (from what I’ve seen on YouTube…) Get it on open sweeping roads and it’s a joy. A slightly wide slightly overweight joy, but a joy nonetheless. Loads of confidence in it, far more than any convertible I’ve had since an E46 Alpina B3 that I managed to chuck around a bit in between bodyshell shudders. It really grips, turns in well, feels far smaller than it is and I don’t even have rear wheel steer. I’m two months in. There’s not much I can pick holes in yet…

Hedge End get a lot (relatively speaking) of LCs through their doors, they may have a waiting list for a certain spec. There you go - buy the Somerset car and save ten-plus grand. -
Spotted: Blazing Carnelian LC500 Convertible. Cheshire

Sport plus coupes do have rear wheel steer. One thing that attracted me to the LC is it doesn’t need to be thrashed to have fun. Only using a small percentage of the power is still enjoyable… and (stop laughing at the back) environmentally friendly too. -
Ooh posh!

Cheap enough for you? I'd offer them nine and a half, no part ex, no finance. They might take it. -

The Chester car is decent miles, good spec, right colours - same as mine so definitely the right colour combo 😂, ML, HUD, pre-18 louder exhaust, 50k sticker, you’d get that for close to 45k I’m sure. Put an offer in and see how you get on. -
Not cheap at 108k but this one’s red and tan.. https://used.lexus.co.uk/approved-used/lexus-lc-500-convertible-5-0-v8-sport-plus-auto-euro-6-2dr-203291?___SID=U

My top three guesses are Mystic Meg or Philip Schofield or Lexus Chester. I think Chester win 'cos they threw me the keys to a white LC and told me to go play with it. It didn't disappoint. The F type confuses me. Looks good, great engines, sounds awesome, much more of a sportscar but I can't help feeling it's out of it's depth on used prices. 50 grand plus for a decent V8 seems expensive. -

No harm in trying, and it’s quite entertaining. Slag them off enough and they’ll be 30 grand before you know it 😂 -

To be fair I also join forums before I buy cars. Best way to understand what makes them tick. Or rattle’n’rust in the case of Maseratis..
