  1. Useful link thanks. The video car went from 245 to 255 front and 275 to 295 rear - the slightly bigger sizes seem to offer a slightly larger choice of tyre brands plus I’d hope there’d be improved kerb protection - damaging the wheels is the one big worry on the LC for me! I had an AMG Merc that felt like the back end was on ice skates and it turned out the visibly bulging rear Pirellis were 10mm wider than stock so the sidewalls were really flexing on corners. I’d guess the low profiles on the LC would avoid that.
  2. That Hyundai will outlast most of us! I dinitroled a landcruiser I had and it definitely helped. To avoid messing the drive up I treated it outside on the public road. Five years later I can still see where it was parked 😇
  3. Good video and he was clearly impressed bearing in mind it's a GT not an Elise competitor. Bigger tyre sizes are interesting - I'll bear that in mind when mine need replacing. I watched this one recently too - UK channel and yet another positive review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LJVM-hDGU0&ab_channel=JDMClassics
  4. The ultimate would be an aftermarket alarm with shock sensors mounted in the front arches plus a nice bright dash led - I have looked into it and nobody seems interested in fitting as these cars have canbus so the old school Clifford type alarms could be difficult.
  5. As already said I'd guess it'll be expensive and only an OEM one would work 'cos the radar is behind it.
  6. Hi Salvador - did you definitely get canbus steel protection plates fitted in the front wheelarch areas? I'd love to know if this is now available for the LC and not just the RX? Mine's already got a tracker and I've asked for the Geofence device - if I can get plates as well it's got to be worth doing despite my reservations that they can be bypassed.
  7. Enthusiast-wise there is nothing electric at all. Stick as many badges on it as you want - M, AMG, N - there is zero heart behind it. I had a Model S P100D - 700-odd bhp - for two years. One trick pony white goods. OH has a Honda E - rear wheel drive, decent chassis, reasonable power. It's nippy but boring. No electronic fake exhausts or pretend gearboxes can hold a (low emission) candle to a petrol powered car that's been blessed with a decent engine.

Spotted - Bredbury - 21 plate blue convertible - looked like Structural Blue, plus cream/blue interior and navy hood - looked beautiful 😀
  9. My guess is the theft risk is the major problem. Nowt else apart from maybe the weight that I can think of!
  10. I already had a cat S5 tracker, which allows ME to track the car on the app. As I understand it, the Lexus one is a cat S7, which only allows the tracker co to track the car after it’s gone missing. A geofence device can also be provided by Lexus which I’m guessing would ping your phone when the car leaves a predetermined area. Lexus refunded me half the cost of my tracker a couple of months ago, rather than fit theirs alongside my existing better tracker. I also had an immobiliser upgrade fitted when my tracker was fitted - that imho is essential. An Immobiliser is the only sensible option - having a tracker doesn’t stop it being nicked, and relying on a third party to track the car using Lexus’s tracker didn’t appeal. The key to all of this is some sort of visible deterrent. Trackers and immobilisers still don’t stop attempted theft.
  11. I'd check with Lexus UK that your car isn't affected. If it is, you should be offered an immobiliser and geofence device. I had a Scorpion Cat S5 tracker fitted (I can track the car myself on an app) with an additional immobiliser upgrade, done by trackerteam. I've also fitted stickers in the hope that puts thieves off causing damage before they realise the car can't be stolen easily. Visible steering lock can't do any harm either.
  12. Brilliant. Pressure from recommending Hedge End now off 😄 They really are great cars. Enjoy.
  13. It’s odd but I look at exhausts and mods and so on quite regularly then when I’m actually in the car I always think it’s so well judged it doesn’t need messing with. What to look out for - trim and colour. Apart from that there are just two factory options. Heads up display with keycard and keyless entry and the Mark Levinson stereo and that’s your lot. Earlier 17/18 cars have 471 bhp whereas later EU/UK cars have a gas particulate filter that slightly hinders the noise and power - they’re 464 bhp. Everywhere else stuck with the 471 bhp. Post 21 got wired carplay, and very late cars - late 2023 onwards - got 360 degree cameras and a touchscreen and arguably better interface/controls in place of the original better looking (in my opinion) dash and clock, plus different wheels. Same engine as the ISF/GSF, but a 10 speed gearbox. Do it!
  14. I think a velour jumpsuit could be the answer here… get one with Velcro rather than a zip. Cheaper, washable, and you can probably get a colour to match your LC. You’re welcome 😀
  15. Just spotted this. Do check the Lexus cat s7 is acceptable to the insurers. Mine needed a cat s5 which is more expensive.
