  1. Hi Graham Is it a powered tailgate? Asking as mine has an electronic release but the lift is then manual. Check in the owners manual if there's an emergency release procedure, there may be a catch or something you can do from the inside.
  2. I already have one but may be willing to trade depending on its road noise characteristics.
  3. We have a winner! https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=73371-44020-C0&tbm=isch&sxsrf=ALeKk00EE_FRfGyJ2wWuTT_bxq7ZdWaKMA%3A1618645897037&source=hp&biw=1440&bih=767&ei=iZN6YOgttpuMuw-wq7KwDw&oq=73371-44020-C0&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQA1CPCViPCWCxC2gAcAB4AIABV4gBV5IBATGYAQCgAQKgAQGqAQtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZw&sclient=img&ved=0ahUKEwioltXt5YTwAhW2DWMBHbCVDPYQ4dUDCAY&uact=5#imgrc=trDNwCZCNappmM thanks 🙂
  4. Might help if i actually upload the photo!
  5. This clips into the side trim behind the back seats, one side is broken but I'm struggling to find it on the toylexparts diagrams, anyone know which diagram its in? It looks like it's to clip the seatbelt into although I'm not sure why you'd want to do that behind the seat.
  6. I have 3rd party rubber floor mats in the car that are great, was vaguely considering buying a new set of the official Lexus carpets to put in it for the summer but now I'm thinking, why bother? They're harder to clean and I can't see any real benefit other than it looking slightly nicer.
  7. Might be worth a second opinion, I had an MOT advisory once for "corroded fuel pipes" and when I took it to Toyotec I was informed that it was just a tiny bit of surface rust on one part of the system that was no problem at all and shouldn't have been an advisory. I did nothing to correct it and it was not mentioned again in the two subsequent MOTs I had done somewhere else.
  8. An easy way to determine if they're being truthful is to find someone with another one and see if it does the same thing on the same bit of road.
  9. If it's continuously dripping over a long period of time with the engine off then that definitely sounds like a leak. If it looks like water it'll either be coolant or screenwash, check levels for both and then leave it for a few hours and come back and check the level again. If one of them is down that'll tell you which one is leaking.
  10. I forget which of the bulbs they were but some of mine needed a 28mm bulb which was hard to find online. I think I ordered these in the end: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075GH27K4/
  11. If the existing bulbs are just filament bulbs then it's just a case of finding LED bulbs in the right size. I replaced all my interior bulbs with LEDs and it makes the car feel newer somehow.
  12. Alternatively, spray a bit of nip on the wheels each evening 😄 the cat will soon become very protective of that area.

  14. Get a soft comfy cat bed and take him for a drive with the sunroof open on a warm day? If I were a cat I'd appreciate that. Maybe then he'll deem the car "his" and guard it, as cats tend to do with things.
  15. Sound advice. Rodents can lead to expensive problems - http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/297 I would jump on this and do everything you can to keep them away.

    Oily soot!

I have an RX not an LS. I got the gasket from the main dealer (2AZ engine).
  17. While I appreciate there may be some aftermarket products that are good quality, I would certainly not trust a £15 control arm when the OEM part is £400! Perhaps consider what could happen if they break while driving. I would always use OEM for stuff like this.

    Oily soot!

It's possible to have very slight leaks that aren't always obvious. I had one identified recently in the rocker cover gasket on mine, it was never noticeable on the dipstick and only a tiny little bit of oil was weeping out.
  19. I never speed in 20 zones but there are some areas where I live that have recently been dropped from 30 to 20 for, as far as i can tell, no good reason. One particular road springs to mind, it's a busy main road out of the town and gets a lot of traffic during peak hours. There's really no good reason for the limit there to be 20, and this seems to be backed up by practically nobody observing the posted limit. One day they'll find somewhere to park a van and nab quite a few people I suspect.
  20. He's an honest guy too, on a few occasions he could have easily done additional work for me but turned it down because in his opinion it wasn't necessary. He also once diagnosed an engine rattle for free for me too, I think that was when he did the control arms actually. Oh and they have loan cars 🙂
  21. I would hope that all these inspection and checking activities would have been done before buying a 2018 car, but in the absence of that then yes check everything and maybe take it for an MOT.
  22. In my case the bricks are simulated by way of a computer-controlled throttle cable actuator.
  23. FWIW mine is a JDM import Harrier, most of the controls and buttons are english but the computer that shows cruise distance and fuel consumption is in japanese, however I suspect it's actually been reprogrammed to some degree for the uk market. The cruising range is shown as km but in reality it almost exactly matches the cruising range in miles. Took me quite a while to figure this out. Not sure why they do this, maybe it's too expensive to change the language of the module but changing the ratio between the tyres and the range counter isn't a big deal. No idea what the deal is with the fuel consumption readouts because I never look at them.
  24. It sounds like your car is a JDM import like mine. You probably can't change the language without swapping out entire modules and even that isn't guaranteed to work, especially on a newer car like a 2010. This question makes no sense
  25. My aftermarket cruise control works at 20mph but I rarely use it at such low speed.
