  1. Evening all,

Given the cold weather we are experiencing recently. I have noticed that cold air blows in the footwell area in both the passenger and drivers side. Even with the AC turned up at a high temperature, I can still feel this cold breeze around my foot. Have tried all the different modes on the AC, but no luck.
Half and hour later and my knees are cold to the bone.
Does the IS not have a good insulation around the footwell area?

Had this same issue with my old IS 250.

    Any one have similar issues.

    Thanks

"I think"  that the 250 is the best car I've ever had in all my motoring years so it would be nice to know what you think and to give a resume of it from your ownership for any potential new owners all the plus points and the negative.

Hi Paul , Yes i do agree with you. The IS 250 is one of the best cars out there.

The V6 is super smooth and built like a tank. Look after it well and it will never give you a problem.

Have driven to Germany and you don't notice how fast and silent its on the autobahn.

    Cons:

Its a bit on the heavy side, wish it was few kgs lighter.

Bit thirsty, and living in London with start stop traffic doesn't help.

  3. Hi All,

Has anyone managed to install a DAB Radio on the standard IS250 CD Player (without sat nav). The radio on my SEL has not so good reception. So i came across these DAB radio antennas that you stick on the windscreen, so was wondering if it is an easy fix to take apart the existing radio and attach the antenna in the back, will the existing radio have an external antenna socket.

    Thanks

The IS250 is the best car I have ever had ( now aged 55 so had a few!) that sure looks like a good example, nice Black interior ( only colour to have in my opinion, looks classy for longer!) that one also has the stupid expensive option extra Moonroof as Lexus call it. The only option it does not have is ACC and that is like Unicorn poo to find anyway! The pedal/covers are not standard for a SE-L but it IS an SE-L as it was the only model to have wood trim ( and it is real wood, supplied by Yamaha the Piano manufacturers!) and it is marked on the drivers door jamb "IS 250 SE L"

looks like a lotta car for the money and the mileage should not be a concern if you can check any maintaince history to confirm spark plug change at 60,000 ( or six years). As all servicing was ( allegedly!) carried out by Lexus you can view everything they have ever done on their "MyLexus" portal. Someone recently commented on the lack of past paperwork/invoices for work done when buying a 250 compared to other cars they have bought, simple reason is it wasn't missing, the car is so reliable and hardly anything needs repairing!

better go and stand in front of it to see if photos add up, but better still get out in it! You won't be dis appointed.

in the above buyers guide it mentions the boot lid slamming down like a Guillotine very un-Lexus like but it is an easy fix and unless already seen to then most cars this age will suffer.

Yes i agree. I have mine in shimmering red and love it. You mention ACC  - can i ask what that is ?

  5. Hi All,

On a Lexus IS250. Have recently noticed and have rear passengers also said that the rear air vents do not blow any air, warm or cold. I have checked that the vents are both open.

Putting the AC on only blows air in the front and not in the back. Have tried putting Fan mode only and the air vents feel a bit warm.

Does any one know how the rear air vents work?

    Thanks
