  1. Your post came across as a little cocky so that's what instigated my reply if that wasn't your intention then i do apologise i sometimes don't read between the line's. In all honesty i wouldn't know the cost's of the service but at a quick guess it would be at least 35% cheaper as i don't have all the overheads as you mentioned in your post which is the main reason i can operate my current business rates a lot cheaper than others. It wouldn't be just for F cars though as there's simply not enough on the road to justify more investment, i'd be aiming at performance cars in general to keep it interesting.
  2. i had an incident were one of there employees backed my car into something and left a small mark, they didnt inform me either i found out after i found an incident report sheet showing the place were it was damaged ill post a pic up of the sheet up tomorrow i didn't bother with it as i mopped it out didnt really want anyone else doing my bodywork other than myself.
  3. I own a bodyshop and next im thinking of expanding into the mechanical side so hopefully ill be able to get my own stamp cut and be done with Lexus and their rates.
  4. Ok good to know next time ive got the ''deal of a lifetime'' for sale at my shop ill be sure to let you know if your that easily relieved of your capital, hell you even talked yourself into it above!
  5. I caught this just in time! it had the trademark pink residue was quite pricey if i remember rightly ill have a look in my service documents tomorrow and let you know.
  6. So your saying at least a £400 mark up is fair? that service would take myself or any competent home mechanic all of two/three hours the only reason i use Lexus is to keep the book stamped up if i decide to sell. I know i could buy those parts and get my local indy and pay them £40 per hour so why should Lexus charge so much that's the point i'm making.
  7. Well im quite happy about this being brought up as there is also the coolant leaking into the transmission issue so best to get everything checked, think everyone with an ISF should at least do a bit of research online as it could very well be the end of the cars life if either one of these issues raises its head.
  8. thanks for the input, ive been reading into it for a good two hours and have made my mind up to get the work done as mines a 2008 with 70000 miles so in my mind prevention is better than the alternative.
  9. Just done a little bit of research, it does seem that quite a few people have done this in the US but also quite a few have not and they have relatively high miles with no issues. What i've read is its down to how hard you drive your car as overtime a high gearbox temp can break the fluid down apparently, not sure if that will apply so much over here with our nice cool weather though.
  10. Ill be interested in hearing if anyone's actually done this, does make sense though as with BMW's i've owned are supposed to be fitted with sealed for life boxes but yet there's kits to buy that replace solenoids and replacement fluid.
  11. Seems very expensive considering you could probably get the parts for less than £200.
  12. now your talking my language.
  13. if you listen at 1.10 you can hear the headbolts fail😉 they do sound good good though.
  14. Little update on the m3 swap the engines been fully rebuilt along with forged pistons arp headbolts and full vanos overhaul, cars currrently getting this fitted along with a 6 speed box and brand new motorsport lsd with 3.45 ratio, im also getting every component which will go underneath the car either refreshed and powder coated or replaced. Then it will be back to my workshop were im going to give it a respray in the original dakar yellow as its quite faded in places and its got the usual bmw factory orange peel paint job which i hate, should all be done by end of august i did intend on it being ready a month ago but the engine rebuild place shut down due to the current situation, anyway a few pics if anyones interested.
  15. Cool, have you any plans for it or keeping stock although it sounds as though its good enough as is. love the colour by the way got to be the best shade for these saying that every type r looks good in white and then there's the nsx id absolutely love one but there a bit overpriced now. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/nsx/honda-nsx-type-r-49-500km-one-of-five-in-the-uk/10538167
