I'm very surprised at the behaviour of that Toyota dealership. I can only assume they or at least the person you deal with are racist. Personally I'd contact the dealer manager and put your concerns to them. I think they're fobbing you off. Find a lexus dealer and phone them. I bet you get an English speaking person.

Len. The 322GW and others in the range of which mine is at the bottom lol has a socket on its side where a rear facing camera plugs into. Great idea and yes saves ooodles of time wiring. Oh yes I've seen for myself idiots racing towards a car with a camera in the rear screen then suddenly slow right down. Oh how it makes me laugh.

As Roy said. My is300h averaged high 30's. My journeys were short like yours. On a run to Leeds tho I'd be getting 50 easily. Don't sweat about your mpg figures. There's nowt wrong with them. Oh you were getting better mpg in your is250 than I'm getting on the short journeys in mine.

If you look more closely where it states market value you can actually change that as there is an option. When you agree to a quote then contact that insuring company and state clearly you have changed the cars value accordingly to that of a similar car actually for sale. They will do one of two things. Increase the quote or tell you the value generated is the one they'd offer in the event of total loss. Don't just use those comparison sites. Go to insurance companies direct.

Well I've had a look on my ebay purchases and unfortunately two of the parts aren't available but you'll definitely need one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-Right-Angle-Adapter-Male-to-Female-90-Degree-Bend-Adaptor-/292074804774?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 Look for a Shallow 12v cigarette lighter charger and there's plenty of Bluetooth adapters available. Being in the glove box means it's out of the way and connects instantly.

It's been a while since I've been here in the RX section but I've had to post this video. It's the best one yet that I've seen. What a palaver to do but doable.

Hi Younas no I don't know anyone on here for parts. Look in the parts for sale section somewhere on here.

Blimey. I've had both a SRI Cavalier and a SR Astra (I think it was SR but a 1800 injection anyway). Both for a couple years and must have put 40k + miles on each. Oil changes were at 6k intervals and neither car had oil leaks or burnt its oil and neither lost any either. I must have been lucky with my vauxhalls.

Is there any point in 'servicing' the car?
Mr Vlad replied to ganzoom's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Interesting thread. As for the IS having only 3k miles put on it annually then it is totally essential to have an oil change once a year. Yes it sounds weird but it's a fact. There's loads on YouTube about it. Lower mileage cars need more care than a high miler. A yearly Hybrid Health Check is a must too. What is your 2.5 ton electric SUV? -
Hi Younas. Ask the family member you got the car from if the diff oil has ever been changed. I can't remember if there is an issue with sticking brake calipers as on the is250 but you could check the caliper slide pins.

New owner here with a quick question
Mr Vlad replied to Bounce75's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Hi Steve. Mmmmmm so you're going from a manual to CVT. Be prepared for a very big difference. You may initially hate the fact you think you're revving the nuts of the engine to get anywhere in haste. Don't worry about that. Oh the is300h is way better than the V40 D4 180 horse power. When I had mine it felt 98% as quick as a Mondeo ecoboost 240 horse. I know I've had both. What you'll notice most between the Volvo and the 300h is the ride and smoothness. The interior quality too. If your car has the ML system then your ears are in for a treat. -
Hello guys and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. You both have excellent cars. I've had 2 of them. I suggest you search this forum for your answers. The 3rd gen lexud IS section is excellent. Lots of threads about just about anything you can think of. One thing Sully if you're Not going to use Lexus to do the services then once a year take your car there for a Hybrid Health Check. It's about £55 But is necessary as it checks the hybrid system and gives you a 1 year warranty too. I'm assuming Younas you'll be continuing the dealer servicing. One thing regarding high mileage cars is Not to stick with service schedules. Oil changes need to be done more regularly like every 5k miles. Enjoy your cars. Look after them and they'll look after you.

wow what a video. Not too sure what to think of him. One or three contradictions at least. Personally I can't believe a car from new covering just 40 odd k miles had a knackered engine because of oil changes at 10k intervals. To me that's one helluva poor engine design. I agree with him about oil changes at 5k miles. I suppose its lucky to me that I'm now a low miler. About 3k miles a year. Mind you my car has averaged 6.5k miles a year and with a full lexus service history I think my engine is just fine and dandy. Out of interest tho I'll look at the oil level at fuel ups. Interesting video you've found Linas.

RCF 6-year service - spark plugs
Mr Vlad replied to Keith_W's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Blimey Keith. £300 to change 8 spark plugs? Now I don't know if there's a difference between the plugs in the 5.0 little V8 to the 2.5 V6 but fir my is250 Lexus Stockport quoted £25 per plug. I can't see why you are concerning yourself so much regarding the plugs in your spectacular 20k mile car. Leave them be unless you have noticed a deterioration in performance in your car. Don't you have a service plan on your car? -
Sadly i think its time to leave the fold
Mr Vlad replied to Twellsie's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I forgot to mention. Use we buy any car. Create a duff email address first so you don't get inundated with emails from them. Once in the site be honest. Mention all dents scratches etc. This will give you an accurate value a dealer would offer if you were to part ex. But add £1k to that as your asking price. This is about as real as you can get market value wise.
