  1. Hi Mat. Yes there's a few videos on YouTube on how to change the PCV valve. Looks easy but you need a 19mm I think spanner with a 90 degree bend in it. I tried to do mine but the hose to it seemed stuck to it so I've left it for now. As for throttle body I totally recommend it and the MAF sensor too. I posted a thread on it so maybe look it up.
  2. Hi Andrew and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. How long have you had your RX? Look in the RX section of the forum and search tail gate problems. Personally I've not heard of this issue on that car.
  3. Seconded DONT USE ADRIAN FLUX rip off merchants. As for insurance it's all down to where you live. Try all the search engines like comparethemarket etc plus companies that don't advertise on those sites. Try the company you're with now, nowt to lose. You should love the RX400h when you get it. Hopefully you've checked it's service history.
  4. That sounds like a design flaw which Lexus must be aware of and know of a remedy.
  5. I've been driving cars 39 years. I'm on car 28 now lol. The last 6 cars I've had have been auto gearbox or CVH. All over cars manual gearboxes. I so much prefer autos now I'll never go back to manual. Just putting my 2p in lol

    Rust

Lexus Stockport will supply the spark plugs and replace the old ones. £150 all in parts and labour included.

    Rust

Lexus Stockport quoted me £25 per spark plug to change. That's parts and labour. The Hammerite stuff is KURUST. Don't use it straight from the bottle. Pour a little into a small shallow container like a bottle top.

    Rust

Blimey that makes 3 of us Vlads on here lol. I see you're in Greater Manchester too. And also the SE-L model. That's spooky lol. Which garage are you going to use? What service history has your car got? I recommend go on the Lexus website and register your car. You'll need the log book by the way as proof of ownership. Once you've registered with your cars reg number you can see if its got any Lexus dealer servicing. As to surface rust no sweat. Use one of those brush on rust killers, Hammerite make one and it's excellent. Kills rust and turns it blue/black and act's as a protective coating.
  9. That car is just about as good spec as the SE-L. The seats look like they're cooled as they are perforated. The car has ML and I think reverse camera. Though it doesn't have adaptive cruise but there again I've not seen many GS's with it and I have been looking. That car is a wonderful looking example of the GS and well worth considering.
  10. What? Between Bradford and Leeds yet you find Stockport easier to get to? Wow. I'm gobsmacked by that. I'm a professional 7.5t driver of over 25 years and knocking on the door of 2 million miles in one. Been all over the country in one and loved every mile. Mind you our of Lexus Leeds and Stockport I know where I'd go lol. I've bought 2 cars from Leeds and 1 from Stockport but each of my 4 Lexus's have gone to Stockport for services or a technical issue. Oh I've moved twice in the past few years.
  11. That's interesting because I'm sure someone on here in a thread about transmission fluid change used Hinds Head garage to do a Full suction drain and fill on his is250. Did you get the impression he was fobbing you off?
  12. Oh right. I always thought you was in Bradford because of the number of times you mentioned them. Out of interest where are you then? I'm in Rochdale. Suppose Bolton is nearer for me but I know Stockport.
  13. Rayaans out of interest how come you didn't try Lexus Leeds as it's a lot nearer than Stockport?
  14. Linas I KNOW. I'm asking Marlon to ask his friend and no one else. It's His thread. As for engine internals Linas our engines are just about bullet proof having forged pistons and rods and a very strong crank.
  15. I think it would be of massive interest to everyone if you took your 'damaged ' unit to a car hifi repair place. I'm betting they'd find the problem and fix it for not as much as you'd think. Then you could sell that unit on and recoup a substantial percentage of the unit you've bought. Google car hifi repair engineers or home hifi amplifier repair engineers. Well worth a punt.
  16. I ask again Marlon please get info on the remap your friend used to gain an extra 35bhp. Has that figure been proven on a rolling road?
  17. Yes I can confirm it's the sensor by the rear wheel as in that video. The AFS light came on in my car straight after it had a MOT done at Halfords. They plugged it in to a diagnostic laptop and within a couple of minutes they straightened that bracket and the AFS light hasn't come on since.
  18. Marlon please get info on the remap your friend used to gain an extra 35bhp. Has that figure been proven on a rolling road? As for the sound of that car, mmmmm yeah there's something real nice about it, sounds like a bigger engine sound.
  19. Blimey if you're not use to the CVT in your is300h after nearly a year then I'd get rid and get a different auto box car. I'm not sure if the is200d was auto or manual but you definitely need to get rid. I went from decades of manual cars to an is300h and a few weeks later I got rid because I couldn't get to grips with the CVT. After a year with a proper auto I got another is300h and loved it to death. Want to go fast? Floor the loud pedal. Let the car do the rest. That's why it's a genuine 50mpg car.
  20. Whether the job is easy or not to change the 12v battery in an is300h after reading the unfortunate situation Rayaans suffered I'd personally get Lexus to change the battery then if by any chance something happens like the radio unit going kapput then they'd be liable. Totally bazaar the situation Rayaans has found himself in.
  21. Just remembered a breakers called 247spares. They're a parts finder. You tell them what you've after, give them your details and breakers from around the country contact you with what you're after.
  22. Yeah there's a specialist lexus breakers in Accrington forget there name though.
  23. Sorry correction. The ML one has 2 white connector bottom left as you look at it. Although both videos are from American cars. Check yours first I think.
