Correction. To replace a wing mirror you only have to take the door card off. A dead simple quick job.

What I'm about to state is actual fact where tyres are concerned with the same vehicle. Back in the halcyon days of biking in part of that era I had a Yamaha FJ1200. A best friend bought one soon after. I had Dunlops on mine he had Contis. We with others would ride hundreds of miles. Those times were brilliant. One one occasion we went to a show at I think Haydock race course. There was a carpark on the opposite side of the road which if viewed from above looked like a race track. So when the carpark was empty we indulged in some very fast riding. Ok I was always in front. We swapped bikes and again I'd get in front and stay there. Both of us were trying hard to bear each other. The moral of this story is it doesn't matter what the tyre is. Yakamoto XYZ2 might be the dogs danglies to some yet ruddy s**t to others. There's too many tyre experts out here and there. Basically trust to a brand and not what type.

If your near a lexus dealer take your car there and get their advice.

From day one of ownership of my car the driver door mirror has never worked except it folds in on the button. It doesn't go left right etc etc on the button. I've had the door card off today but didn't see anything untoward. I took the passenger door card off and saw a difference. Both mirrors have a Red box denso control unit. The passenger side mirror has Two plugs. One plug goes into the harness and the other to the Denso unit. However on the drivers side the mirror has only One plug which goes to the harness. Can anyone confirm that the driver side door mirror (car is a SE-L) has 2 plugs or 1? I ordered a pair of mirrors thinking I could swap the inners but no chance. Sent them back. Got others coming but only one of them has the 2 plugs, other doesn't. What gets me is I'm wondering if there's a different Denso unit for driver side and passenger side because my two denso's are identical and on the passenger side the wiring of the 2 plugs on the mirror plug in neatly i.e. where the mirror plugs into the denso is towards the front of the car. However on the driver side the socket in the denso is towards the rear of the car and possibly the mirror wire won't reach. Anyone with a SE-L recently had their driver side door card off and can remember how the door mirror cables/cable is connected?

Hi Steven. Regarding what you stated about your old is250 SE-L having automatic folding mirrors. My is250 SE-L doesn't and I'm sure it wasn't even an option. Anyhow enjoy your is300h. A superb car. I've had 2 of them premium spec. Mind you I love my 250 just that bit more than I loved the 300h.

Yes Castrol Magnatec is an excellent oil. I've used that on a lot of my cars and they were top of the range turbo cars. Before that it was Duckhams Q. If it was good enough for formula 1 cars then it was good enough for my cars. Of the past few years I just use the dealer to do my services as I can't be ****d anymore lol

I'd have thought the oil you've used is OK. Might I suggest you buy a bottle of ZX1. Halfords have it. I've used it in All my cars since the mid 80's. It coats all moving metal parts and reduces drag massively. Great for cold starts where the car has stood for a while. No tappety noises heard etc.

I remember wanting a is200d as my 1st diesel. It was about a year after when the is220d came out. Reviews on the 200 were quite mixed especially about the useless 6th gear and economy not overly good. Reviews on the 220 were surprisingly negative. So I went for the MG ZT diesel with the bullet proof beamer engine but a better turbo. Yes I fitted the RonBox which was made specifically for that engine. And oh yes on its highest setting and flooring it it produced a glorious black cloud behind me lol. Just thought I'd say that.

Hi Luke. As you don't have satnav you are in the lucky situation that there are a good few Android units specifically for the gen 2 is200/220/250. Ok they're a few hundred pounds but they're flush mount. Google upgrade radio lexus is220 and you'll see. So you don't want a £20 ebay thing? I have a £20 ebay thing in my is250 and it connects to my phone every time I get in my car and start it. Music quality is superb. Grom have a lot of negative reviews and good ones too. They have a habit of ******g up which is annoying.

Hello Ozzay. You have decided to take advice from one member only. That is your choice. Let me put you straight about tyres. But first I'll tell you I'm a professional driver having driven trucks for nearly 2 million miles and I'm on car number 29 now and easily done over 500k miles in cars. Tyres have one job only. To keep your car on the road in most conditions. Choosing a tyre that will let you travel twice round the world is outright stupid. Choosing a tyre for grip is paramount. The tyres on my 2007 is250 are Infinity Evomax on the rear and Roadstone Eurovis. Budget tyres But they have kept my car on the road admirably and without fear of losing control. I drive my car fast by the way and I love going round bends very quickly and setting off from the lights quickly too. You've already chosen a tyre and I hope they suit your car and the way you drive it and the price you've paid is bang on. I look forward in hearing how you get on with them.

Ok since you have the Aux socket there is no need what so ever to do as you've done. I take it you have an Aux button on your radio?

Chris re fitting your fold up bike in to the boot of a GS450h. I doubt it very very much. Yes the volume might be bigger But it's the dimensions that are critical in your situation. Just look at pictures of open boots of the GS hybrid Yes wider but not as deep from seat back to back of the boot. RX on the other hand you'll get 3 or more in lol.

Excellent post Jon. Am I right to assume your 2007 is250 is without satnav? If so does your car have a aux socket in the arm rest cubby hole? I'm not au fête with none satnav is250.

Ahhhh fuel rail coating differences. One wonders if Lexus would make a considerable contribution to an updated fuel rail on our cars.

Yeah good points. It's struck me what differences are in a 2007 is250 and let's say a 2009 is250 that E10 is not suitable for the 2007 Yet it Is suitable in the 2009. Does the 2009 car have different materials in the fuel system? This is a weird situation regarding E10 fuel.

Actually Linas at the time I was buying my 1st Lexus it was Lexus blurb and a couple of road tests that stated there was a few more ponnies in the GS. In my test drives of both one after the other the GS actually felt quicker. I even stated to the sales guy that accompanied me. Thats my actual findings from actual test drives.

When I was after getting my 1st Lexus the is300h was top of the list. Lexus Leeds where I went also had a new shape GS300h. I took that out for a longish test drive. Had grown up daughter, her son and fitted the baby seat too. That GS was ruddy impressive. Oh and it was rather quick as quick as the is300h I tested straight after with same passengers. I couldn't believe tho that daughter and her son preferred the is300h in the rear than the larger GS. I bought the is300h. The GS300h has a few more ponnies than the is300h and that's from Lexus. Oh. My passengers absolutely loved it in the back of the RX450h I got a couple years later.

Well said John and an eye opener personally speaking. Before I read your post 450h was top of my list lol. So Lexi have you not considered the RX450h? OK a little dearer but worth considering. Stay with Lexus and keep your name lol 👍

Blimey that Dewsbury breaker is charging 5x more than I've paid on ebay. The Accrington breakers seem reasonable from my experience.
