  1. No luck at all. I took my 07 is250 to Stockport and they treated it as a new car.
  2. Hi Bal. For your initial state of mind take your car to your nearest Lexus dealer. If only the once they'll give it a thorough going over and inform you of any problems if any. If you look on the Lexus website for essential services you may well be surprised what they charge plus you get a yearly hybrid health check.
  3. Hi Adi and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Hopefully I've pasted a link showing you how to connect your phone to your car using Bluetooth so you can make/receive calls and stream music. https://youtu.be/d1fFgdyWIDM
  4. Ok I have the is250 but I had that problem. Cure was to get one of those gel pads used between the windscreen and the sensor. My car didn't have one because its had a none genuine new windscreen fitted at some time. One the gel pad fitted all works as it should.
  5. That's a fair asking price selling privately. About 8 months ago I paid 5.8k for a 1 owner from new 82k on the clock SE-L with moonroof etc.
  6. Is your car a 350 or 250? To the right of the steering wheel on the dash in almost a blind spot is a round button in a rectangular box. Either side of the round button is a plus and a minus. Press the round button and in the display between the rev counter and speedo you'll see a few options each time you press that button. Keep pressing until you get the park sensor symbol (same as the above video). Once on that symbol press either one of the two other buttons , can't remember which but the Green symbol will appear on the dash.
  7. To me it's way more than sad news. Known about her for years. Total respect and liked everything about her. Rest in peace Sabine
  8. Oh on an awards thing. There's a kind of association of women car journalists who are well respected. They voted the Lexus LC500 cabriolet Best Luxury Car. (Can't think of another word for the roof chopped LC500)
  9. Weird. Lexus 8.8 Toyota 9.0. So what award as I couldn't be bothered to read all the article.
  10. Very nice Graham. At least your loads are palletised. Mine are all handball and my 7.2t is almost as full as your photo shows.
  11. Hi Ian and welcome back to the fold. What car did you have between your last SC430 and your UX? The UX is s cracking car. Had one for a day whilst my is250 was in for a service. Go to the UX section of the forum, you'll find tons of info there if needed. Enjoy your new car.
  12. Errrrrrrrr regarding sound quality. I've mentioned in other threads that I have a quite cheap Bluetooth adapter in my centre console compartment. My current 2007 is250 SE-L with ML. Especially when I listen to the BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass show with Rene le Vice the sound reproduction is awesome. Now until the last few years I was an Audiophile with top notch home hifi from Quad etc. So I know music reproduction quality. Also I'm a former semi pro car hifi installer and I've build quite a few systems with one in particular a 3 series beemer with 14 speakers and roughly 2k Watts. No I'm not blowing my own trumpet but stating that a lexus with ML needs nothing added. To use a DAP in a ML system is pointless. I never used one in any of the car installs I did. Bluetooth via Aux in or direct line in to the Aux socket in a ML system will please everyone. I don't know about Apple stuff, just don't like it for some reason.
  13. Regarding how the bootlid of a car opens. Personally speaking I think it's a waste of time, effort, design, manufacture of and automatically opening bootlid. Yes I can see one purpose and one only. A mother holding a baby in one arm and bags of shopping in her other hand. Ford have that solution with a sensor under the rear bumper and a waggle of the foot will open the boot. For everybody else it's a function not needed. Also I'm not getting the point of comparing toys/gadgets you get in a sporty coupe car and a SUV.
  14. Zx1 will sort out any rattles caused by oil starvation. Look the stuff up and you'll be surprised. I recommend it to a neighbour who has a 3.0 V6 s type jag. It stands for months and when he started it it rattled like crazy. Now after ZX1 he's as chuffed as a chuffed thing. No more rattles.
  15. Blimey 1st cars and 2 cars mentioned here I've had a lot to do with. Learnt in the Austin 1100 for about 4 years (was very heavily into bikes so didn't bother with a test). My 1st car was a 1.3s Metro (changed the interior to MG spec and the MG zorst) had tons of fun in that. After that I had the Morris Marina 1.7. For the life of me I don't know why I got one but hey ho. I'm on car number 29 now lol
  16. Blimey Linas I'm kinda surprised you're selling your RC200t. Apart from an issue with the boot lid what other reasons are you getting rid? What you thinking of getting to replace it?
  17. That's interesting read F.A. out of curiosity I'll manually move the mirror lens to each of its extremities however the mirror moves to its extremities with the toggle switch. Therefore I'll look into getting another memory module. Thanks for the info 👍
  18. Well i can confirm that a 2007 SE-L does indeed need a wing mirror with two multi plugs. On Saturday there was enough of a break in the weather to change my door mirror with one I bought on ebay. Had to swap the plastic shrouds as mine were in much better nick. My new mirror now moves with the switch and it moves down when I engage reverse. My passenger side one doesn't move anywhere as much as my new drivers one when in reverse but it does move fully with the toggle switch. Must be dodgy somewhere in the motor mechanism. Think I'll swap it for another one. Hope this will be of use for someone down the line.
  19. They're available after market. There's a couple of threads in the modification section of doing cosmetic body additions.
  20. Old hand at the wheel ? Seen and heard everything too I suspect. I don't think I'm much younger than you John but I bet I've got a helluva lot more driving miles than you. Including motorbikes cars and trucks I'm approaching 2.5 million. I rather miss the HUD I had in my RX450h f-sport. An excellent feature. Oh I stopped using cassette tapes soon after CD's came out except for a few which never came out on CD and one CD which is metal and has studio quality and is better sounding than any CD I've heard.
  21. Phil. When it comes to coffee being a snob is nothing to do with coffee. With coffee it's taste. John. So you know spacewagon and you say he's not a snob. He must be a closet snob to come out with that statement which annoyed me. I know 2 multi millionaires both very successful business owners and if you saw them in the street you'd think nothing of them. No BS from either of them. Isn't it strange how a thread starts by someone and it goes haywire lol. Nowt stranger than folk. 🍻 everyone
  22. What I'd like to know about the MBUX screen thing is Where do I put my CD's?
  23. I went for a test drive of one. The car had me in it and 2 sales guys. It was in Leeds at the time and I drove it like I stole it aswell as sedately. With foot firmly to the floor it certainly shifted. Well impressed by that. Also how it takes off in electric only mode was impressive. As for mpg I can't comment. However I've noticed that their are at least a couple different spec of GTE. And to be honest for what they are they're too expensive. Ok you have a CT. Have you had a go in the UX? If not I strongly urge and recommend you do. I had one for a day as a curtacy car whilst my is250 was in for service. WOW what a car. Definitely 70mph on electric. I did 47 miles in that car. Drove it like I stole it and normally. When I gave the car back they asked me if I'd like to know what mpg I managed. Errrrr ok I said sh***I g myself. You managed 51mpg and was on battery alone for 48% of the time. If I had the money I'd buy one within a heartbeat. Compared to the golf? Forget the golf.
