  1. Blimey Linas your statement about the Turanza not being a directional tyre made me just go out and look at mine! Mine which ate the T005 don't have an arrow for direction But as clear as day the word Outside. Now that could just be because the tyre has a rim protective lip which is one of the reasons I got them. Gary you need to tell us your cars tyre sizes front and back and what tyres are on the car.
  2. Yes as above but the spark plug change isn't that expensive. I was quoted £25/plug supply and fit.
  3. You rotate left to right on the same axle? Errrrrr are your tyres Not directional?
  4. Linas. Keep out of threads of cars you haven't owned. Personally I'm sick and tired of your inputs which you have gained from research or copied and pasted. The is300h isn't a performance car but it's performance in real life is excellent. Between the two I owned I had a 240bhp ford mondeo and yes it had 240bhp. I had it on a rolling road as I was intrigued why it pulled so well. It had a mild tune. Anyway my 2nd 300h felt as quick as the mondeo. Trick was to make sure traction battery had at least 50% charge. Sport mode activated. Pedal to the floor beyond the detant in its travel. I showed up many cars with that cars take up from a standing start and boy oh boy did I enjoy it. Brought a smile to my face each and every time. Gary. I hope your reservation on that car is successful. You'll love it when you get it or one like it 👍
  5. OMG Linas. Have you actually owned a is300h? I've had 2 and what you say about its performance is absolutely kkrraapp. You're right about the trim however.
  6. Yeah the fuses seem a really tight fit hence I used long nose pliers. The fuses are the micro style and you'll need a 10 amp micro fuse in the piggyback adapter. I agree the twirp who planned the siting of the fuse box needs shooting 🔫 lol When pulling fuses out don't be scared. Just use a constant pulling force with a bit of wiggling.
  7. Hi Mike and welcome to Lexus ownership. Your write up on the RX450H is bang on. You should write for the motoring press. I totally agree with everything you said except the comfort. I had a 2012 f-sport and it's comfort was 10/10. By far the most comfy drive of all the 29 cars I've had so far and every car I've had has been top of its range. I miss my Rex but I don't need a big car anymore so my is250 is the love of my life. Enjoy your car. Look after it and it'll look after you.
  8. Hi Gary. Nowt wrong with the is300h but of late there's been issues with the 12v battery when it's changed then weird electrical issues popping up. I've had 2 is300h. First one lasted 5 weeks coz I just couldn't get used to the CVT gearbox, all cars before were manual. I swapped it for a mk4.5 mondeo titanium x sport ecoboost. That was an auto so after a year I swapped back to a is300h and loved it to bits. MPG averaged 50. It was more than quick enough. Comfort 10/10. Handled great. Swapped it for the RX450H bigger car needed. If you've not had an auto gearbox before then you may struggle. Because when you want to accelerate fast you floor the gas pedal and the engine screams at near red line until you let go coz you've reached your speed. There's no gear change like you'd expect. It's like a one gear only but if you've had autos then you'll get used to it and love it. Definitely take one for a test drive. If you can get the Premier spec. 30 miles to your nearest dealer isn't bad. When you book a service ask for a curtacy car and you'll get a new lexus for a day. I wish you well in your search.
  9. Haha John you took your time lol. No I can't remember the origins of Jeff Tracy's sons names. But I think they're something to do with astronauts. And a Happy Easter everyone
  10. Who gave you that advisory? From your pictures your tyres look fine and dandy to me. Even wear across the tread. Do you have a tyre tread depth gauge? If not spend a few quid and measure them yourself.
  11. How did you get on with your shock absorbers?
  12. Welcome to is250 ownership. Love the colour. As a highish guide price get a quote from your nearest Lexus dealer then compare that with nationals like Halfords Kwikfit etc then any independent garages you know of. You may be surprised by the differences not being so far apart.
  13. Hi Lee. Yes fuse No12 10 amp ECU-IG LH Air-conditioning system, cruise control, power steering, rain sensor, anti glaring I side rear view mirror, shift lock system, moon roof, VSC warning buzzer. Think our guest boxes are the same
  14. Oooops I forgot about the suspension. My heads full of thunderbirds at the moment lol.
  15. Hi Lee. At first I connected it to a permanent live but I got fed up of turning the camera on and off so I looked for an ignition on fuse. Never crossed my mind to connect it to ECU.
  16. All specs of is250 with auto box have the same performance. Only trim differences.
  17. Wow Phil of that list of yours I only know of Supercar. Although I don't remember seeing much of it on TV.
  18. Hi Lee. Yes it's a squeeze. I'm 5'8" so for you I suggest get the passenger seat as far back as it'll go then basically with knees on the ground twist yourself so you can see the fusebox. It'll end up being a one handed operation. I placed a torch in the footwell then using my right hand I pulled the fuse out with thin pliers. Make sure you put the supplied fuse from nextbase in the correct space. I did it wrong the 1st time and blew it as it's only a 2 amp fuse. To thread the wire from the camera tuck it under the headlining and along until the A pillar, tuck under the trim until the dash. Where the door opening is you can see a piece of trim kind of triangular in shape. Remove that using a plastic spatular. Feed the wire through the big hole you now see to the fuse box. The hardwire kit wire is really long. I ended up curling it up and taping it together. You can hide a lot of the wire under the headlining. All the best pal. You can do it.
  19. Interesting thread. One of my jobs was I worked for Hotpoint for about 18 years. 9 years in the warehouse and 9 years as a home delivery driver/installer. In my time as a driver I delivered countless thousands of appliances. 99% were new machines with collection of old machines. You name a brand and I took one away faulty. There wasn't a brand which I hadn't taken away. However one brand which did stand out for quality was Mielei (forget how to spell it). As for a gas hob. All gas hobs are good. They have to pass gas safety checks. The o lying difference is the number of rings and if it has a wok type burner, if its white black or stainless there's no difference. As for fridge freezers actually Hotpoint were the best. Because of how I left Hotpoint and being stubborn I won't have their products. As for a combination boiler oh yes Vailant for sure ( however save some cash and buy last year's model. Heatline. Rebadged Vailant). At the end of the day there is snobbery with brands. Fair enough. If you can afford it then get it. If not then read reviews on Argos for appliances and go from there.
  20. Yeah the original animated series are just superb. Technically brilliant. How they matched animation and real life hands unbeatable. The newest version of Thunderbirds isn't a patch on the original. I forgot all about Supercar. Wow. Nice one Herbie 👍
  21. Well I've had this box set quite a few years now. Took the cellophane off it today ( it's getting really boring being on furlough) and decided to start watching it. Boy oh boy how fantastic it is. Love it to bits. Don't care I'm knocking on the door of being 59 but I was born in the best period of time and this superb animated was transmitted when I was a kid. Only 8 more discs to watch. Yippeee.
  22. If you bought it recently and still got the receipt then send it back with a full explanation why. They'll send you out another one. I was offered that because mine had a charging fault which it actually wasn't. It wasn't sat right in the cradle. The is300h seems to have quite a few 12v battery issues which surprises me.
  23. That's a kit Herbie got I think. Don't know what kit the is300h guy has got. Waiting for a reply.
