  1. No need to worry about the sub speaker. You don't get one in the SE-i. Not from what I've seen.
  2. Funnily I saw a jag x type with rim protectors on. They looked rather good. As for which ones and they cost the same then I doubt there's any difference. Once damaged then that's it. Replace them. As far as I've seen to fit them you have to let quite a bit of air out of the tyre so that the protector can be hammered in easier. I've been thinking about them after I had my wheels powder coated some months back. Ruddy scuffed one recently and defo not happy with myself.
  3. Hi there. I don't think the gen 2 is250 multimedia system allows music streaming. Gen 3 definitely yes. SE-L spec is the one to go for. In the arm rest cubby hole is a 12v power socket and an AUX socket. I have Bluetooth music streaming made capable by buying a Bluetooth adapter and putting it in that cubby hole. Leave and forget. It connects to my phone within 2 seconds of starting my car. If you're interested I'll post just what is needed. It's child's play really.
  4. No need for a ceramic coating on a car. Just a normal wash and polish or a waterless wash/polish which is what I do 80% of the time. If I see bird pooh then a simple wipe away with a damp paper towel. It's the carnauba wax in the waterless stuff that works wonders.
  5. As above. That video review to me is the worst that guy has done. His other Lexus ones are very good. To say the is250 isn't as good to drive as a bm he's talking out of his a***. No need whatsoever to worry about a rattle from the top end unless the car has had a very neglected life. A documented service history will tell you a car is as fine as it can be. 2007 was a good year for the is250. I would say that as mine is a 2007 and it runs oh so sweet. My car doesn't have a rattle on cold start. 1st thing I did when I bought mine was to pour a bottle of ZX1 into the engine oil. If you can't find a f-sport then that SE-L you just have to snap the sellers hand of. Top of the range and service history too? It's a no brained. Got buy it. You won't be disappointed. In fact you'll love it within 20 miles.
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth-Audio-Music-Adapter-LEXUS-IS-ISF-GS-RX-LS-300-350-400-H-/264004475652?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 This has been recommended by at least one member here. It does however mean you have to remove the radio unit from the dash to get to the back of it. Actually it's quite easy on the RX compared to the is250. I looked a good while back as I was considering getting a RX400h and looked at YouTube where there are some excellent videos on how to take the radio out.
  7. Hi David. I've posted a couple of times what I've bought on eBay but I no longer have the links. I'm not sure if your car has an AUX socket but my car has, I've an is250. If your car doesn't have an AUX socket then there's an alternative but you havevto remove the head unit and plug a different Bluetooth adapter in the back of the radio. Look on either ebay or amazon for Bluetooth adapter for your car.
  8. Eh up Paul. Every bike I've either owned or riden, except the RD500LC stage 3 Stan Stevens tune, I've ride at full tilt. Yes the KH400 sounded incredible and I suppose it sounded slightly deeper than the 250 due to capacity difference. I miss the 80's and 90's but hey ho we get older.
  9. Hi Arthur. How do you listen to music in your car? Do you listen to the radio, CD's, or do you stream music via Bluetooth? The most simple and by far cheapest way to introduce DAB is to get a Bluetooth adapter and then use your phone to play just about everything you can find.
  10. Mmmmm looks like the lacquer has been attacked by summat and made it dissappear. Makes me wonder if a simple rub down with a cutting compound to level it off and just apply a few coats of lacquer. But yes looks awful.
  11. There been a shed load of posts and threads about all the gearbox issues you can think of here. One of the outstanding points was error messages being sorted by a gearbox oil change. Be aware though not all the oil comes out when you drain it. The gearbox holds about 8 litres but only 2-2.5 litres comes out. Sometimes just the one drain/refill works or doing it again. If you get one of your mechanics to do the job then make sure they do the job right. There are a number of good videos on YouTube how to do it. Yeah I don't blame you wanting to keep the car coz you can't help loving them. Out of interest does your car have an automatic rear window blind? Anyway welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. Like I've said there's tons of stuff about gearbox issues But there very very few.
  12. The paint shop I use of the past 8 + years was by passing one and googling reviews. Plus a visit. Straight talking no bull etc. Don't know where you are but have you noticed body repair shops? Try Google and reviews. Go to them and get a sence of how they talk to you. Personally I prefer Straight talking no BS and look at their premises. My shop has a camera system that takes lots of photos, cars age so does the paint and new paint never matches for obvious reasons, which the computer then matches and produces a paint recipe and heyho a perfect match. I'd never use a dealer for paint work.
  13. That's fair enough John. I've read lots of reviews about how bad the pads supplied with affordable polishers. Very good idea to get other parts resprayed when you get the roof done, makes it more economic 👍
  14. Errrrrr are you sure you've only got 2 sensors at the rear? My car has 4. The 2 in front are in the best position as most damage done to the front of a car is when manoeuvring it in a tightish spot.
  15. Well done with the exhaust ends. I don't get it when folk spend, for a very good one, a couple hundred quid on a DA when for the same price I got my cars paint corrected at a place I know well. I did a thread ' not bad for 13yr old paint,. It's the fear of damaging my paintwork that put me off getting a DA. Bad luck their John with those areas.
  16. lol from advice on a yaris to when ones elderly family give up driving. Yaris. I had one for a day when my car went in for paint correct. Well impressed and enjoyable to drive. A step daughter has one infant it's her 2nd one. Loves them. My Dad got his insurance reminder. A zillion years ncb etc etc. £500 it was for a 13yr old Austin Metro. He only drove about 600 miles a year. He thought sod that I'm not paying that and gave up there and then. Thank feck I thought as he really was a terrible driver god rest his soul.
  17. If you have a front porch then a light with a movement sensor is a first step. Has to be mains powered tho. Another is change your door locks to 3 star security ones. They're much more difficult to pick if at all. They're anti snap too which most aren't. Another is to change your door handles to the 2 star ones. Typical door handles are easily snapped. 2 star ones are basically impossible to snap. Just some suggestions that I have recently changed to.
  18. Nahhhhh. Modern alarms don't go off or get triggered accidentally. I'm sure back in the day the stop lock had a siren built in and a flashing red light if memory serves.
  19. Oooops my bad. Yes 3rd gen.
  20. You've got your head well and truly screwed on when it comes to preparation before the arrival of your baby. Great idea for the tracker. Might I suggest getting a slave alarm siren But fitted inside the car. I used to do that in the 80's and 90's in my cars. No one could stand being in the car for more than 2 seconds lol. Oh happy days. But yes get a slave siren running with your cars alarm.
  21. Hi Attila and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. Really glad you love your is300h. They're a really good car. I've had 2 so I know. Excellent photo of your car in a beautiful setting. Head over to the 2nd gen IS section of the forum where you'll find all the info you need about your car.
  22. I found using long nose pliers and one of those fork trim removal tools did the job. The pliers to grab the flat ends and pull up enough to put the fork in and pop the beggars out.
  23. Hi Chris. WOW you jammy beggar lol. Excellent choice for one of the best cars built ever. Now keep calm so when you do get it you'll not pee yourself with excitement, but bet you will anyway. Anyway welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. When you do get your supercar don't forget to post lots of photos as we like to see each others cars.
