  1. @Herbie. The only way I know is via the 'share' icon. I click on that and the only option I see where I can copy it in any way is to clipboard. Then from clipboard to either a text or WhatsApp message or email or a post in a forum. I do 99% of Internet on my phone by the way. Linas. I think you missed some points in the video. Yes hydrogen was used well before petrol or diesel. 1803 is the year I think. JCB are using a sparkplug to ignite the hydrogen which means they've converted the diesel block using a head similar to that from a petrol engine. Years back a major complaint was a knocking. That was because of the very high temperature. Now they've cured that with a much lower temperature c/o a lean mixture. Personally I'm all for hydrogen engines. Yes BEV is much better for small low use vehicles but for large vehicles then definitely hydrogen. There is a company that has got a truck I'd say the size of a class 2 truck. Its a rigid truck which is BEV. Its battery weighs 8 tonnes and apparently its payload is 8 tonnes. That company states its purely for inner city use with low mileage etc etc. Actually that vehicle is impressive but is the limit in size of vehicle. 4 plus axle vehicles can't be BEV coz it just won't work. But powering with hydrogen is totally possible. The great thing about hydrogen as the fuel is that you can hear the engine. You can't in a BEV. I really do hope that the boss of JCB ( I forget his name) can show the world just how right it is what his company is doing. God bless them I say.
  2. I came across this video and it really blew me away. Extremely interesting and full of information which basically is the answer to alternative fuel which isn't electric. Just hope the link works. https://youtu.be/19Q7nAYjAJY
  3. My bad. 400h is belt. Belt is 45ish .
  4. ROFL that's why I drove like a granny.
  5. I've just had a look. Timing belt? The RX400h has a chain and £160 seems quite reasonable. £16 for the aux belt. So Robert. What makes you think you need a new timing Chain? How many .lies on your car?
  6. Hi Kevin and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. Blimey you bought it in Feb 2019 and you're just saying Hi now? Tut tut lol. Stunning car you have. Don't just leave it to stand. Drive it. Whilst you're at the dealer ask about a service plan.
  7. Lexus parts direct and you don't have to pay any admin fees or other taxes other countries charge and delivery is within a day or 2.
  8. Look on the Lexus website, put your car details in the service section and it'll show you.
  9. Yeah this E10 petrol I think has scared off a number of is250 owners in that I've noticed an increase in the number of them for sale at what I'd say if far too less money. Ok so what about E10. The simple answer is use VPower or an equivalent. The only bind is it'll cost about 45p more a gallon. I'm keeping mine coz there's nothing comes close for the money in reliability and luxury.
  10. Hi Waheed and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. It's good you've joined us. I've had 2 is300h both premium Premier (that's how the Lexus dealers described them,I didn't know any better back then lol). There is a section within the forum specifically for 3rd gen IS which yours is. The car is actually really reliable and the only real gripe someone here had was when they changed the 12v battery and that caused the screen display, I think, to fail. What spec of car is yours? How many miles on it and has it a lexus service history? You can use an Independent garage to do services But you'll have to go to Lexus once a year for what's called a Hybrid Health Check usually about £55 but lexus service prices aren't as bad as you think. Check out service plans.
  11. No I didn't as the tip is only about 3/4 of a mile away.
  12. Easy. Get android instead as iPhone connectivity is a pain at best. There's been quite a bit on here about your issue.
  13. Look up Lexus Parts Direct website. Genuine lexus Parts at discounted prices.
  14. Hi David and welcome to is250 ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. You say your car is 10 years old. So is it an 11 plate? Which spec of car is yours? Re satnav. Unless someone corrects me the satnav is a CD/DVD type. If you look at where the hazard warning switch is on the black central panel between the heater buttons and the satnav screen. On that panel at each end do you see a small hole? Also in setting in the satnav screen do you see eject DVD? If you do see those then the only way to update is via an upto date disc which your car should have that in anyway. Personally I don't see why other fellow owners slate the satnav. Its more than good enough but yes there are a number of roads streets which have been built within the past few years but even my tomtoms don't k ow of some of them and they're all up to date (I have 3 tomtoms, I don't bin them when I buy a new one)
  15. The only thing I like about apple is the sort you eat. As for passwords sheeeesh I hate them with a passion. Can I remember them No lol.
  16. Hi Michael and welcome to is250 ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. Why do you require top up oil? Our cars don't drink oil unless there's an underlying issue. Has your car got a full lexus service history? I'd suggest book it in with your nearest lexus dealer for a service and a checkup. More than reasonable prices. 44k miles in 11 years is very rare and a great find. Enjoy it pal. I know I enjoy and love mine.
  17. Hi Gordon. Try 247 spares. It's a nationwide spares stockist made up of those breakers who register to it of which there's 000's. You phone a number and they do the rest.
  18. Hi Brian and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. Wow a supercharged is200. Excellent. You really have to post some pics of your new car. Within this forum in the first gen IS you'll find tons of info on your car. There are a couple of is200's modified to an extent they're superb examples. Enjoy your car.
  19. Best to phone a dealer and ask or look on lexus parts direct under gen 3 IS. That ebay zorst is a tad rip off price wise. Elsewhere on eBay is a standard fit zorst I don't think stainless but an alloy mix steel for a 1/3rd of that other zorst.
  20. Ruddy excellent. Not heard that in years.
  21. On Wednesday as I was off I washed my car and then used Williams waterless wash as a wax (yes it has carnauba wax in it) on the Thursday after I finished work and went to my black is250 by jeez the roof and bonnet and rear bonnet were covered in kamikaze greenfly. Must have been near a thousand. Just that one time only. Ok my car is always parked outdoors and with this super hot weather I wonder if its that making the cars finish too much for flies. That is the waxes in high heat produce a smell that only those flies can smell. In my one and only case tho the flies on my car were all dead as they must have got stuck to my car and perished in the strong sunlight.
