  1. That's why more and more folk are keeping their cars and not replacing them with newer models. As for servicing I don't think there's much difference. Negative depreciation? Mmmmm it's the car dealers taking the P**S pure and simple going alongside the hike in fuel prices.
  2. Yes I noticed on Wednesday tesco again put the price up to 147.9. Thing is this particular station didn't have any issues of massive queues or running out of any fuels. Pure greed in my opinion.
  3. I used to like F1. The Schumacher days in particular. I find the likes of the current top two drivers too big headed. Yes Lewis is an outstanding and lucky driver having g won so much to date. The past number of years the best four wheel sport I could watch on terrestrial TV was World Rally Cross very closely followed by BTCC. Both wipe the floor with F1 in my opinion. If not for this thread I'd not have been Informed that F1 won't be on normal TV? Is that right? Well I certainly won't pay to watch it if I can't record it on normal TV.
  4. If I remember correctly the face-lift without USB can stream music via Bluetooth. I'm sure someone will either confirm it or correct me.
  5. Then there is a conflict of information regarding ML in SE-L spec is250 cars. You state not all SE-L is250 have ML and its been stated on here by a number of members over the years with pasted spec sheets stating options that they do. Who's right and who's wrong I've no idea. All I know is the number of SE-L is250 cars I've seen have all got ML.
  6. Well there you go. If one likes interruptions to one's listening pleasure then using a FM 'unused' station is the way to go. When I had the FM Bluetooth adapter I got really peed off with those interruptions. Each to their own as they say 👍
  7. That's very Interesting Neil regards you using an unused FM signal 87.1. I used to use a similar method for Bluetooth streaming but here in the NW it was futile as 87.1 was always in use by back street transmissions of jungle krap. Never use an u used FM signal, always a wired connection.
  8. Hi Javier. Yes I suppose you can try to just disconnect the multi plug and leave it a while and plug it back in. You could also just have a look at the butterfly and check for debris (whilst the multiplug is disconnected). Out of interest when you did the clean, was the engine idling higher than normal like 2.5k revs for instance?
  9. Actually no need to disconnect the battery, what I did was to disconnect the multiplug on the throttle body. Just remembered.
  10. You've probably confused the throttle butterfly sensor by not disconnecting the battery. Look up throttle body re-learn which should cure your problem. I did mine months ago and my mpg got better by about 2mpg.
  11. And there in lays the problem. Repairing items. Its a dying art unfortunately. I'm generalising here BTW but let's say 20 years ago you could take a radio for inspection and repair. Today? You'd be lucky to find a radio repair shop as Rayaans has experienced. What you've stated toffee pie is bang on the money and I agree totally with it.
  12. Yes indeed the steering wheel does go in and out in the SE-L. If the car you've seen has a problem doing that then the seller needs to fix the issue.
  13. If the car is advertised as a SE-L and it doesn't have ML then it's not a SE-L. Lexus's DAB is rather rubbish at best. No owner has anything positive to say about it that I've seen. The SE-L has an aux socket in the armrest cubby hole. Plugging in a Bluetooth adapter means you can then use your phone as a music player as I do.
  14. If I remember correctly the tax on fuel here is a lot more than 63%, more like touching 80%.
  15. Sheesh that's rip off territory John
  16. I wouldn't expect a price rise twice in one week. That's why it's bordering on rip off. Nothing to laugh about.
  17. Update on tesco momentum price. Gone up again by 2p to 145.9ppl. Looking like rip off fuel prices.
  18. Stick with what you know. Yes there's quite a bit on here regards which tyres are used. Browse the threads which will answer your query.
  19. Hi Roland and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Excellent choice wanting an is250 as your first Lexus. Browse the 2nd gen IS part of the forum as your question has been asked a good few times and you'll find a breakdown of spec differences. You are typing SE and SE I. SE L is the one fully laden like wood, rear blind, ML system, rear camera, satnav etc. There are a number is is250 fir sale on auto trader which I'm sure you've seen. Yes some specs of cars are confusing. se-I se se-i seems odd but there you go. Look for the threads what to look out for buying an is250, there's tons of info. Happy reading.
  20. The redex stuff isn't the ordinary one you have to look for an E10 logo on the bottle. Research needs to be done on this stuff me thinks before trying it and comparing price using it with E10 and just E5.
  21. Millers Olis EPS is specifically made to counter the effects of E10 on our cars that can't use the stuff. Halfords price £10.99 for a 250ml one shot bottle however Millers recommend 250ml per 15l petrol. So far using E5 I can't say I've noticed any change in fuel economy. Mind you I'm no Miss Daisey but more like a nutter. Trip to Leeds not sticking to any limits and flooring it my trip computer stated 27.8mpg. More than happy with that. Maybe I'll try a sedate trip next time.
  22. I noticed today that tesco has put up the price if E5 by 3ppl to 143.9. As for an additive there is one by Millers Oils only thing is its expensive. £15 a tank full rings a bell.
  23. That's bazaar re the VSC light coming on after fueling with E10. That's more to do with a sensor on the rear suspension both sides. Maybe you went over a bump a bit hard and it upset the sensor and did it again and it kind of re set itself. I put E10 in my is250 but with Millers Oils petrol ecomax with no I'll effects.
  24. Hello Greville and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. Well done on posting a pic of your bargain steed. Great price you paid but knowing you've got some spending to do, only to be expected on an older car but once worn items replaced you'll have years of happy motoring ahead.
  25. Strange that different areas have their own isolated fuel problems. I've had no issues at all. My local tesco never ran out of fuel even through the sheite that's gone on the past fortnight. I've fuelled my truck every day to at motorway fuel stations and at stations in Denbighshire, Conway, and along the A55. As stated it's the morons who like sheep follow other morons and fill their vehicles causing massive Q's.
