  1. Hi Derek. What part of Manchester are you going to? Have you not considered a bed and breakfast type hotel instead of a 'named' one? If you're going to North Manchester I can recommend Westlynn Hotel. It's been there decades. I was born and bred just a 10 min walk from it and in the past few years it's my go to when I go to Manchester for a night out.
  2. Well I've done some research and on a couple of insurance claims companies sites were calculators where you input criteria. WTF. The offer I got was just about what would be put forward by the claims companies. Geez. I got more than that 35 years ago when I got knocked off my motorbike. And I was back in action sooner than with my rib injury. Nothing in my house insurance for legal aid etc.
  3. Blimey. Timing belt done at 30k 50k and 90k miles???????? What the hell were Lexus Leicester thinking of? 3 timing belts done within 90k miles? I've just had the timing belt done at 118k miles just for my own concerns on my (for now) 1.5 turbo Focus.
  4. Decisions Decisions lol. Good luck with whatever you get.
  5. Stephen I don't think my house insurance covers such things. It's a fully comprehensive policy new for old and accidental damage one. Len I've been fully recovered for about 6 months. The solicitor email did pee me off massively but I'm over that now.
  6. My fall happened on a Welcome Break site. Their insurance is through QBE and its their Leeds office who are dealing with my claim. I will However take advice from a local solicitor.
  7. We here's an update concerning compensation due to the negligence of the service station. I got an email on Thursday making a full and final offer. I told them where they can go. £7900. Yes a paltry offer. That's equivalent of the salary I'd have got in the time I was off. Nothing in that offer to compensate for the pain and discomfort etc. I wrote back stating that. I'm now waiting for their response.
  8. Yes CVR POV is a superb YouTube channel. I recommend you find it on YouTube and then go on their website to buy the paint and other products. I've bought and used their stuff and it's the best I've bought in 40 years.
  9. Ah so (to be said in a Japanese accent) I've seen those new cameras quite a few times. Wondered what type they were. More cash cow BS.
  10. Hello Adones. I can't comment on the exhausts on ebay. Some are good but which depends on what they're made of. Stainless Steel produces a drone but a custom built one can be made not to drone. Yes fabulous cars and I'm still heartbroken after writing mine off.
  11. Hi Ian. Why do you ask if your car has an EGR? Is your car giving you issues? If so what? If you haven't already then get yourself a copy of Techstream. It's the best diagnostic tool you can get. The only better one is the one Lexus/Toyota use in the dealership.
  12. Hello Adones and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Great choice of car you got. What made you want one? It depends what you call expensive but at around the £500 mark some owners got Vland lights. There are cheaper ones nowadays. Just look on ebay. As for exhaust. Just what is it you want in a new exhaust? Tony Banks in Leeds is highly recommended for custom exhausts. In fact he's probably done so many he could make one blindfolded lol.
  13. Silly question but what happens when you press Mode? Also the buttons Dual and Auto? Didn't you get and instructions with that unit? Which is it anyway?
  14. I've 'made' kindling years ago. Only thing is I always used a blunt axe. Worked way better than with a sharp one. Still got the one my Dad had so I'm guessing it's about 80 years old.
  15. I've been thinking about this as it's actually really difficult (we'll to me anyway). I'd be an Austin 1100. Nothing special. I get there eventually but 100% there. I keep going, so long as I'm serviced regularly and looked after. Dependable to get there. (Oh yes, the one my Dad bought for a sister about 54 years ago only recently departed to the great scrapyard in the sky). Answer to the needs of family and sometimes friends. Basically Simple Dependable
  16. Blimey that's not the first time I've seen that footage. Just goes to show haw many pillocks there are out there lol
  17. Yes it's gobsmacking how many 'steerers' ignore the overhead signs and then find themselves having to do a dangerous manoeuvre. Oh I love truck driving. I have a number of laughs every time I'm out. It makes my day.
  18. Hi Gray. Great poster lol. I've never been a fan of Harleys. Too big and clumsy looking. Just not my bag. Looking at your profile photo. Is that a Z900 you've got? Now that IS my bag as are many other Japanese bikes and a few Brit bikes.
  19. Blimey Mackeson Stout. I forgot all about that drink. What I do remember is I knew this old woman who was a dear friend of my mother's. She said she drank a bottle a day and never had ailments. She lived to a right good age. 98 if memory serves.
  20. Blimey. The look is great but the price isn't unless the two light units are included alongside the light bar.
  21. Hi Pash and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. So you've used CarVertical and it stated it couldn't produce a full report. Well as John stated above the rear bumper is Not from an is250 but from a diesel which indicates the car has been in a rear end shunt. Why else change a bumper. The twin exhaust on that car could just have been owner custom. I've actually seen similar elsewhere. If you really want that car then contact the seller and ask to repeat the VIN number just incase of typo.
  22. Hi Lukasz. Great idea in theory but Far too much of a faff to do. It would be cheaper to sell your 250 and buy the F.
  23. I'm not sure about Scrumpy because of the acids in it. I've forgotten what Black Velvet is, except for the song lol. Export Guinness which is available in bottles is a wonderful drink but its about, if memory serves, 6% hic! Guinness has worked for many ailments over the years for many folk.
  24. I've found drinking Guinness, just one, every day does weird but wonderful things to joints. In 1985 I got knocked off my bike and basically my hip joint was cracked like an egg. Cartilage destroyed etc. Whilst in traction in hospital a couple of work mates smuggled in a few bottles of Guinness. One a day I had and had it brought in too. After recovery and a catch up with the consultant he asked me "how do you think you've recovered so quickly "? I said well either my parents prayers or that I drank a bottle of Guinness every day I was in hospital. He dismissed the prayers but concured with the Guinness and with a laugh because he knew the ward I was in was really hard to smuggle alcohol in. So Stephen why not try a Guinness a day? Just an idea.
  25. Excellently put Stephen 👍
