Linas. Re the 360 all round view. Look up Saab Unleashed on YouTube. That's where the video is and personally speaking I think it's arguably the best 360 all round view there is. Depending on the reply I get from Teyes I'll be getting one this year. -

I've actually written to them yesterday and waiting for their reply. It'll be interesting what they say. In that video that guy has everything working plus in another video shows how to put 4 cameras around the car which when set up shows full 360 views. -

there's a guy on YouTube that is primarily Saab oriented But he's by far the best guy I've seen so far reviewing android head units and explaining them. This Teyes CC3 seems a superb piece of kit. it has an all round camera kit. But as I've said before. On the Ozzy site it clearly states the left hand buttons become redundant! -
Looking to become a Lexus owner - help and advice sought
Mr Vlad replied to HoofHearted's topic in New Members Area
One thing to look at After a test drive is feel the rear wheels both sides. If they're mad hot then the calipers are sticking/seized. A regular thing with our is250 cars unfortunately. If they are mad hot then one of two things. Tell the seller to get the calipers sorted or walk away as a 100 mile trip with hardly any rear brakes is a no no. Sorry to sound negative but it had to be stated. Hopefully the rear brake calipers will be ok and you go home in a luxury small saloon. Which spec of car is it you're going to see? -

That's an interesting headunit. But a point is that the site states once the unit is fitted the buttons on the left side will be closed as in not operate. You should contact the seller to explain that and let us know. -
Oh dear, looks like Halfords strikes again...
Mr Vlad replied to Herbie's topic in Lexus Audio/Video/Electronics/Security
Halfords Rochdale and Kwikfit Leeds the one near the Lexus dealer. I've nothing but praise for both and have had major work done by both. Just for people's Info. -

Not all Halfords or Kwikfit centres are the same. Some are shyte some are very good. -
Wow £900 to insure 4 cars. That's outstandingly good value. Well done John. I must remember to contact you when my insurance is up for renewal next January.

I use to have a list of area postcodes and insurance risks. I'm pretty sure someone on here found it initially. And oh boy does where you live dictates how much you pay for car insurance. Where I was born the area had an insurance code 'refer'. Band A the cost of insurance was cheap as you like. Yes it seems weird newer cars are cheaper to insure but the thing is the parts are not cheap. On the other hand a much older car like let's say a Rover 25 would be more to insure as new parts don't exist and used parts are scarce. What bugs me is if someone crashes into me and damages a wing and a bonnet and a headlight then the insurance company would deem it a write off yet they'd fix a newish is300h. Basically car insurance prices suck.

That statement from John is just bang on. Our of interest I went on just one comparison site to quote for a 21 plate takumi UXe. Everything included motor legal expenses, curtacy car, breakdown cover, no claims protection, etc etc etc. 21+years no claims I've got, no points no convictions, comprehensive cover. £545. I live in a high risk area with a high theft rate and crash claims (the dodgy ones). I'd be quite happy with that quote for that car. What you've found at £350, snap their arms off but more so enjoy your car.

Hi Lee. Blimey £450 to insure your electric UX? That's ruddy CHEAP. You're 51 so what. I'm nearly 60 and for the first time in 12 years I'm paying just under £400 for my 14 year old is250. All those other years I've had to pay over 500 quid. Your car is probably near 10X the value of mine. Out of Interest what was you paying before the UX and on what cars? Sorry but it winds me up folk moaning about car insurance prices when there are far too many steering about without insurance.

Have you not looked at any videos on how to change/check gearbox oil levels on your car? The way to check the level is 1st make sure the oil is warm, on level ground ideally on a ramp. Under the gearbox housing there are 2 what look like drain plugs. The one nearest the front of the car is the level Indicator. Unscrew that plug. If anything comes out then it's over full. If nothing then possibly there's not enough oil in there. Look on YouTube as there are at least 2 very very good videos on how to do a gearbox oil change on the is250. Oh. Lexus Stockport did mine soon after I bought my car. Charge was £180 for oil and labour, car was in for its service. Just over 2 litres was changed. Within this forum there are a few threads on this subject. I urge you to find them and read them. After that you'll know all there is to know about gearbox oil changes.

DAB Radio
Mr Vlad replied to Gordon28's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Failure to find a DAB module I suggest get a Bluetooth adapter and use your phone. There are numerous radio apps which provide DAB. -
I'd get the biggest size washer you can get to fit, even if you have to file a bit off. The more contact the better. Good luck with your efforts am sure you'll do a good job. Just to add when I did mine I left the glued in washer a day so it had fully cured and I used masking tape to keep it in place (yes it'll stick where excess glue is but the rest is so easy to remove)
-
If your bumper fixing point is like in the picture Linas posted then it can be fixed. Same happened on my car but on the back bumper. I used a metal washer and glued it in place using Araldite. A 2 part glue. I then used a nut and bolt and it's still in place over a year later. Bit of a fiddly job but very doable.

Hi John. First you have to let us know just what car you have. Your profile states you have an is250d. There isn't such a model. Is your car petrol or diesel? But regards the headunit. I'm assuming your car doesn't have the satnav. If it doesn't then you need more than just a u it with satnav but the console too. As for any wiring I can't honestly see a car without nav having the wiring there. You'd need to go aftermarket like one of those android ones.

Towing .
Mr Vlad replied to Zuke's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Yes but as Alan stated he only want to tow a small trailer for camping gear so the is250 should handle that easily enough. -

Your local dealer must be rubbish. Look on the whitter (maybe wrong spelling) website. Roughly £570 fitted but only a few left.
