  1. to see if theres any You might aswell dive back in giving yourself more time to inspect the handbrake shoes and test the wheel bearing by rotating the wheel and also holding the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock and wiggle to see if there's any movement
  2. In the is250 on your kind of journey you should be in the mid to high 20's mpg. My journey is only 3.5 miles and I'm on low 20's which I'm happy with.
  3. Yes m8 we love our is250 cars. You'll love yours when you get one. Look on here for a thread what to look out for. Also that the car has the original key fob.
  4. The links don't work as the forum can't find them.
  5. Hi Darren. How you getting on with the washer jets removal? My drivers side jet is weak but not a MOT failure but not as good as the passenger side. Thinking of just replacing the pair and the valve connector.
  6. I'm sorry to say this but those who use a set of tyres in winter and another in summer have been to 'I've seen you coming' or brainwashed or bamboozled by utter b*l*o*k* information. But yes where snow is more prevalent then a winter set makes sense. But I sence most who use 2 sets are the 'Jones's' and have more mo ey than sence. Now don't get on your high horses folks. I've probably driven far more miles than you ( I'm knocking on the door of 2 million) and I've never felt the need for 'winter' tyres. Well said above Linas
  7. Lexus Stockport did a drain refill and charged £180. Just over 2 litres of oil was replaced. I did have to tell them it was possible to do as I've seen numerous videos on YouTube. They did it whilst they had my car for its service. That was the August before last so about 18 months ago.
  8. Wait while Linas posts his views. Had a nice barny with him about tyres lol. Don't go Bridgestone if you have a heavy foot lol. Goodyear is the one to go for. Oh budget tyres are more than OK. Most lexus drivers are sedate drivers. I'm definitely not. My front tyres are budget and are great and better than my rears. You've opened a can of worms asking for tyre recommendations as there are far too many 'experts ' . What tyres have you had previously?
  9. Thought you guys would like that 😏
  10. Way hey I got just that same effect. Much cheaper than your springs too. 13x30kg bags of garden rubbish in the boot lol
  11. Linas. There are Halfords there are utter cowboys and there are those like my local one run by car enthusiasts. Their own personal cars are all old super mini cars and modified tastefully. Just coz the Halfords you've been to have ripped you off DONT slag them ALL down coz you're bang out of order. As for Kwikfit. There's only one I trust and that's in Leeds near the Lexus dealer. Oh and as for my local halfords doing my rear shockers. I trust them more than Lexus. It's local, walking distance, I know the guys, they like my car and treat it as their own, they've done freebies for me. Yes I'm lucky to have a trusted garage near me. Pity it's not the same for everyone which it really needs to be.
  12. £56 is a good price. I got 2nd hand for £20 and clips from ebay £6/7.
  13. Hi Rishi. My car was in the same predicament as yours. Lexus wouldn't MOT it as they'd fail it and they didn't want that. They quoted me £600. Ouch I thought. My local halfords did it for I think £560 after a little haggle plus they threw in a free MOT. ALWAYS change shock absorbers as a pair just like brake discs/pads.
  14. Absolutely fabulous build and a ruddy good looking car to Steve. 👍
  15. Ok. Hope that the place you got the 220 from can and will fix it as there's not much out there for £1500 that's half decent.
  16. Why did you go for the diesel? Asking out of interest. Are you particularly after a Lexus?
  17. Find a bodyshop near you that's one, got a good reputation, two, got one of those cameras that takes loads of photos of the cars colour (over time colour changes slightly and getting colour matches is impossible) and sends the pics to a computer which then finds a colour match paint mix and a paint mix that matches the car perfectly can be made, three, got a drive in paint booth and oven to cure the paint. I got my paint correction done at a very good rate as a returning customer.
  18. Hi Graeme. I only paid £200 for the scratches removal.
  19. Go on YouTube and search saab unleashed. Yes it's Saab but he's the best guy I've seen explaining android units and he tests them out too which is the best review that can be given.
  20. Did you pay his/her asking price or knock some off? Looks like you know what needs to be done. There's been quite a lot on here re the rear brake calipers and there's loads on YouTube. I took my car to a trusted body shop I've used. My car had absolutely thousands of scratches. They spent a whole day to get rid of 95%, any more in those 5% places would go to the primer coat but the car looked superb after their work. Look up 'not bad for 13 year old paint ' thread. Keep us abreast with your progress. Maybe do some before and after pics.
  21. Don't bother with the Grom thingy. There are android units it's which wipe the floor with it nowadays and purposely for the is250. Teyes unit for one. I'll be getting it in the next couple months.
  22. Eh up Graeme. Great news you've finally got an is250. Did you get the one in Poulton? What needs doing to it then?
  23. Re shock absorbers. I got genuine ones vited by my local Halfords about £50 cheaper than from Lexus plus a free MOT thrown in and the ride is as Lexus intended. Pay much more attention to tyres as they play a very big affect in ride and handling.
