  1. I suggest you look up saab unleashed on YouTube. I've found him to be the best reviewer on android headunits. He's got a rig to test all sizes of headunit. Teyes CC3 is a firm favourite and one I'll be getting.
  2. You're welcome 😊
  3. John. To introduce you to Vodka I strongly suggest you buy a bottle which is Not less than 40% proof. (Don't know if morrisons still do their own brand moranov which was superb). Why no less than 40% proof? Because when you've bought the bottle put it in the freezer and forger about it for not less than 24 hours. After 24 hours pour a shot. You'll notice the liquid is akin to a syrup. Drinking a vodka from the shelf is like drinking meths. After the freezer something amazing happens. It's so smooth it melts so to speak.
  4. Me thinks that auto spark works for 'I saw you coming'. Best to get multiple quotes. Better still find a car hifi shop.
  5. WOW £460 for a replacement key? That's gobsmacking. Hope the sparky that comes is a guddun and finds the issue and sorts it.
  6. I've seen elsewhere on other forums and even YouTube about a similar situation as yours Linas. Concensus is the actual key. And as for wiring issues, since you don't actually know the cars history and how long it's been stood there is a possibility that a rodent or two over time have chewed a wire or two. Have you priced a replacement key from Lexus? Even at a couple hundred quid it'd be worth it I think. What about finding an auto electrician and get a quote for a electrical test. Just a couple of suggestions for you.
  7. I've said this before on here and other forums. Every car I've had in the last 30 years before I brought it home I poured the required amount of ZX1 into the oil. This stuff puts a micro coating on All metal parts within the engine therefore on a cold or the car not being started for weeks months the engine will start as if it was a hot start. Again I'll mention a neighbours S type jag which gets started twice a year with a pronounced tappety noise. After a dose of ZX1 no tappety noise. Neighbour chuffed. Oh don't anybody slag me off for this wholey factual proven advice coz all you'll be doing is making yourself look a prik.
  8. Excellent John. When you're there ask if they know of as good an auto specialist as them in the North West. Cheers 🍻
  9. Hi Tom and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. You've got arguably the best model Lexus. Yes they're such a fabulous car. Re the auto lock. With yours being a 2009 model I'm not sure that's a standard fitment. A good while ago someone on here posted how to convert the car to auto lock. Maybe the previous owner followed that post and did the conversion. Since your car is full lexus service history then perhaps take your car to your nearest Lexus dealer for them to have a look and whilst there get a quote for a service plan.
  10. Seconded.
  11. I don't know John. I'd phone a number of auto box specialists the more the better to gauge their advice.
  12. I wouldn't worry too much about that. It's probably the very cold mornings that initially mucks up fueling. Do you drive your car let's say sedately 100% or do you say once or twice a week floor it to red line to clear cobwebs?
  13. That's good then. Save your money on the front shockers as they don't need changing.
  14. Hi Jeff and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. WOW you really did have a belter with the is200. Now you're in the superb is300h. I've had 2 but I have to be honest and say my is250 is a better car just. The Nav is easy to use I found. Have a great future with the 300h and yes post some pics 📸
  15. Test the shockers by making sure the car is on level ground. Got to one corner and with force press down to compress the spring as much as you can. Release quickly and note how the car raises. If it raises in one movement only then its a good shocker. If it boings then its duff. Repeat on the other corner. If both react the same as in one movement only then all is good. My cat is a 2007 with 84k miles and my front shockers are almost like new. Only replaced the rear ones because of weepage.
  16. I did a thread a while ago about a journey I did from Rochdale to Leeds. I deliberately had it in S mode just to compare fuel consumption to standard auto box. I stayed at 70 on the motorway but on the 621 I floored it fir fun. Red lined it all the time being in 4th gear. My car returned I think mid 20's mpg which I thought was outstanding. How fast did I go? Find the thread lol
  17. Well said Colin. I should have said S mode not manual mode.
  18. First pic tells me you're in manual mode. The gear lever over to the right. 2nd pic tells me you're in full auto. 3rd pic again tells me you're in manual mode. You say you've used paddle shift. I take it the paddles on the steering wheel. What I've noticed in mine when I move the gear stick to the right, manual mode, the gear position indicator stays showing 1 also the middle gear position shows a pre set 4. When I set off the 4 changes to 1 and when I shift to 2nd the display shows 2 whilst the top displays 1. Change to 3rd and the display shows 3 and still the top display shows 1. It can be confusing when you go into manual mode.
  19. Contact Teyes directly. You'll get a reply a day or 2 later. With regard rear camera it will work but depends on a certain wire. I forget which but contact Teyes and all your questions will be answered.
  20. So why bother changing shockers when there's no sign of leakage?
  21. Looked them up and crikey they ain't cheap if you want the lexus logo on but they look ruddy well made.
  22. How do those caliper covers fit? They look rather good.
  23. That was quite a fete set by that modified Tesla model S. 750 miles on a single charge. Outstanding. Wonder how long it takes to charge. Re charging and to what percentage to charge to. Colin stated earlier about the Nio car briefly. Yes it's a Chinese car But launched in Norway. I first saw this Nio on fifth gear recharge. Its the car I'd have if I had the money. This particular car need never be charged by the owner. Why? Because Nio have a number of battery hubs where you take the car to one after its been booked in. You park close to the hub entrance, press a button on your phone or car and the car drives itself (reverses) into the bay. The car is then clamped in position. Just 3 or 4 minutes later a message on the dash says go and away you go for another few hundred miles. The battery has been swapped for a charged one. That's a brilliant system but whether it'll come to the UK is to be seen. There's been too much stated on threads such as this regarding BEV's and the good and bad of them and batteries range and charge rates. Its ruddy BORING. The initial post should be applauded not ridiculed.
