  1. Hi Sean and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is and to Lexus ownership again but with arguably the best one the is250. You won't be disappointed. They're just a well made car and as reliable as is possible. Hooe you know about the rear brake calipers that they tend to seize if not have the slide pins lubricated. Get yourself in the gen 2 IS section of the forum. You'll find a myriad of info. Don't forget to post a few pics of your car as we all like to see each others cars.
  2. Bearings and bushings in either steel or aluminium housings are pressed in. So basically if a bearing part number can be supplied then the bearing itself can be obtained. Thing is one has to find a place with a bearing/bush press.
  3. Does Bearing Mart still exist? There wasn't a bearing they couldn't get hold off and a darn site cheaper than dealer prices.
  4. Hi Caroline and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Since you've researched injector problems and you've taken out the offending injector (Well done you 👏) then I don't think there's a problem putting the rav4 one in. It'll either work or not. Yes genuine Lexus prices are too ruddy expensive for a number of parts.
  5. That's a very fair comment Linas and probably better for the car But never mind handling in the extreme, which most is250 owners never experience, don't you think having a 'square ' set up would change for the worse how the car looks as in stance?
  6. I think that's called impatient eh Steve? 🤣
  7. Not necessarily. There are older folk who act like they're 30 years younger. I'm one of them and happy that I am. Also I'm not the only one. On the back of that there are 20 year olds who act like they're much much older. An age segment can't be categorised because of individualism. Blimey where did them big words come from? 😳
  8. Simon. Make ice cubes from the ginger ale. It makes great ice cubes. Saves watering down the drink adding iced water.
  9. I don't know why you got the is250 if you want to ***** about with it. The is250 is NOT the car to ***** about with. Sell it and get sommat more suitable. You seem worse than the yanks who muck up their is250/is350 cars. Don't mean to insult you but to give you good advice.
  10. Anyone looking at the Chinese android units with the large screen and a single button in the middle then DON'T get one. Look on YouTube how ruddy awfully they fit and after watching a Russian video they refuse to fit them because of the fitment. Cheap Cheerful Chinese Chit. Oooops can't spell a certain word 😉
  11. Look pal, I only used trust a trader as an example. Just coz YOU don't like them DON'T dis me. And for the record those kind of companies not only rely on traders paying a fee to join but for the punters who from their personal experience write a review of which there are ones full of praise and those saying things like 'don't touch with a barge pole'. Oh and my experience and that of friends they are a damn good source for a trade's person.
  12. Gawd n Bennett. As Steve said above. Give it a rest. I'm of the impression that trolls step in and post self righteous crap. And for crying out loud there are companies like for example trust a trader where folk look for a trade's person. Garages are in there too. Not all lexus garages are good. Some are ruddy awful some are outstanding, same as any other trade. If someone hasn't come across a 'good' trade's person then either they're a liar or just haven't bothered looking long or hard enough. Here endeth my sermon. Thank you 😊
  13. If I had the money then yes but after I read test results and reviews as I think it'd make driving an EV more fun.
  14. I went out Saturday night for a meet up with friends that neither had seen in a few years. One such friend asked me about the new highway code rules regarding pedestrians and cyclists. Although I've known that friend 40 years I always thought he drove. No. 21 years fork truck yes but not cars. So he's a bona-fide pedestrian and his take on the new rules well I can't put it down here coz I'd get a warning so you can take it as read it's shyte. No way would he step out on a junction to cross when a car was approaching expecting it to stop. And basically 90+% of pedestrians wouldn't either. As for cyclists and he does a bit of that my friend, he said most are f ing idiots who deserve to get knocked off. I agree. There's too little a minority of genuine cyclists who this rule was made for and basically a waste of time effort and money. Those true cyclists know the ins and outs for survival. The let's call them commuter cyclists just potter along oblivious to their surroundings and it's those idiots who get hurt when it's their negligence that got them hurt.
  15. I think it's s great idea. Whether they get the patent is another thing but I wish them well.
  16. Sorry but the fuel line IS attached to the inlet manifold. I undid mine when I attempted to replace the crankcase breather valve. Unfortunately the pipe to it was as tight as a tight thing and I couldn't get it off.
  17. Well I've just watched the DVD of the Rover Vitesse challenge 1990 where the great Tony Pond Did break 100mph lap. 102.195mph. And yes as Mincey stated that record got smashed many years later. Now compare the cars. The Rover. A Big 5 seater car with slicks a sports exhaust (a louder pipe so the marshalls could hear him, great excuse and true) and a roll cage and standard suspension. Now the specialist Subaru with 3x the power and basically a mega tricked out car. 3x the power and a much smaller car yet only 6mph faster. Testament to Tony Pond and his outstanding skill. It makes one wonder if TP drove the Subaru.
  18. Hi Joel. Blimey you're getting another is220. You must really like them considering it'll be your 2nd one. I know exactly where you're coming from re the excellent is300h and it's CVT. Hated my 1st one but after a year in an auto I got another one and loved it. There are quite a few entertainment upgrades for your car since it doesn't have nav etc. There's quite a bit on here about that lol.
  19. Bit of a typo Linas. Ford ecoboost engines were 2.0 or 2.3 (excluding smaller engines like the 1.0 1.5 1.6) the 2.2 was a diesel and a ruddy good one. (I had the mondeo titanium x sport 2.2 diesel in both manual and auto gearbox) (yes I was ford bloke lol)
  20. You say the spark plugs were changed on your car at 60k miles. How many miles on your car now?
  21. I've been hearing that noise for months but once warm and I've reached my destination there's no rattly noise. Very strange. But general advice is as above.
  22. Those 3 Phil look quite good. Just had a look lol. Blimey I forgot all about Stolychnia (spell check?). I remember that being a wonderful tasting vodka. Here's something tho. 35% proof vodkas. Now these I'd suspect mostly tasting like meths But there must be good ones. Who knows a good one? Why? Because they'd make the perfect ice cube for the proper good vodka. I use ginger ale ice cubes in my Southern Comfort. Using water basically waters down a drink. Oh 35% stuff freezes.
  23. I don't know those brands as I'm not a vodka drinker but I know not to touch any vodka under 40%. The morrisons what was moranov is now called The Best. Its in a blue bottle and has won 1st prize in a reputable competition. And for £16 and 43% I think I'll pay a visit to morrisons lol.
