  2. Back to light heartedness
  3. Now now. This is a Light Hearted thread not a discussion on EV cars or the price of fuel or how long it takes to charge an EV etc etc.
  4. Noise radars? Jeeez what ever next. Whoever sets these up better get it right 1st time coz all he'll will break loose. I'm not an advocate of modified vehicles, I am however still a believer in Loud Pipes Save Lives. Anyone who disagrees has never been a biker.
  5. Perhaps that should be a highlighted procedure Steve so everyone can see.
  6. That quote of £360 for a major service is a grab their hands off price. Major service price is more like £650. That's what I remember Stockport telling me last August. Major service does a complete oil service, except gearbox and diff. Engine oil and filter, coolant change, brake fluid change. Cabin filter changed. Spark plugs is chargeable.
  7. That picture looks bang on for how the exhaust looks. A good symmetrical gap between it and the bodywork. Any closer and it would look wrong.
  8. I've read this thread a few times and I still don't get that how different petrol can dictate the auto box as to when it changes gear. I think it's like a placebo effect. You say you've changed the oil. Have I miss read something ? Engine oil or gearbox oil? Engine oil won't affect gear changes but gearbox oil will. I've read that in one or two cases where the owner has had a gearbox oil change and all kinds of hell broke loose. 99% of those who have had gearbox oil change have had no I'll effects. One wonders then if you got your gearbox oil changed was it done correctly. It is a distinct possibility. One I'll effect that comes to mind is that a partial oil change (the 2 and a bit litres that comes out when the pan is dropped) disloges (is that spelt right?) crud particles that block a valve or two in the box which causes all matter of gear change problems. Something to think about.
  9. This thread needs moving to the UX section where it's likely to get read more.
  10. I'd say that mobile masts are shared still. I've noticed whilst looking for a new 'contract ' that company A actually uses the EE network. Company B uses O2 etc etc. Thing is tho none of the network providers have the balls to get signals to out of the way places where people do live. Also for visitors who go on drives out to the middle of nowhere etc.
  11. I'm sure I've read similar on here quite some time ago. It's worth a search on here.
  12. What I find, let's say strange, is in the areas I don't have a phone signal my tomtom does. If only tomtom made phones lol
  13. I suggest a look on YouTube. Search Cat 501s. 1st video should be 2 guys with an Audi Q series car. They're foreign but are speaking English. If I remember rightly the 2nd video is with a beemer. On both the filter is changed.
  14. Leather cleaning solutions choices is exactly like tyre choice. Everyone has a 'favourite '. It's a mind field. At the end of the day Any none coloured leather cleaner is as good as the next one. Just clean the seats 2 or 3 or 4 times a year.
  15. It refills with what ever oil the operator puts in. That also dictates the price of the job.
  16. Well my car now has new bushes in the rear hub, the ones pressed into it at the bottom. Whilst I was waiting to pick up my car I noticed something oh so very interesting. A flush and refill machine for auto boxes. I asked the garage owner about it and he almost raved about it. Only had time for a minute chat as he's a busy man. The company is Launch. Never heard of them but they do some really good looking garage test equipment etc. The machine is the Cat 501s. Attached is a photo of the advert card. I've seen a couple YouTube videos of this kit doing it's thing and I for one will get mine done in the near future. I phoned Launch and spoke with customer services who in turn gave me the number of the sales guy who could answer any questions. I spoke with him and asked if the kit would work on the Lexus is250. He said that the kit would connect to the pipes that go to the gearbox oil cooler. Now then. I actually don't know if our cars have an oil cooler for the gearbox. Price wise the garage couldn't quote but to do a BM or Merc you're talking around £400 all in. I'm wondering about the thoughts of fellow is250 owners on this.
  17. Thanks everyone. I too hate iphones Herbie, wouldn't touch em with an extra long barge pole. Linas, your works building probably has a shield sort of thing that won't let mobile signals through. Morrisons supermarkets do to. Vodafone score best for talk in London according to their website. It's strange how there are dead spots all over the place. A section, only a few hundred feet, of the M62 about 15 Mike's from Manchester going to Leeds. None of the providers signals are picked up. Aliens 👽 ? I'll look at the links. Thanks again 👍🍻
  18. Hello folks. Not sure if this topic has been done before but if it has it'll probably be out of date. I'm wondering who is on which mobile network but most of all how is the signal where you are. I've been with Vodafone more years than I care to remember but it fails me when I'm in parts of Denbighshire (ok this parts are basically in the middle of nowhere up a mountain and in a valley, I deliver to schools there btw) and I'd like to know how folks network providers fare particularly in Denbighshire and other mountainous areas.
  19. Not just phones it seems lol
  20. Really? Well that's strange as I've seen YouTube videos of testers charging the test car in all sorts of weather.
  21. I'd ask the dealer you're using to buy the car. It would be them who do it either way of it being an option or not.
  22. Good on ya Malc. I really hope you make it past your 100th so you can enjoy your hydrogen powered vehicle 👍
  23. What has he actually quoted for? A replacement hub?
