  1. I'm actually thinking of using both E5 and E10 on a 50/50 basis. Don't know why but it entered my head just today. The price difference I don't think is as big as it was but I've not looked to compare recently. Great post there MrT 👍
  2. I'm not a lover of redex products. Decades ago it was the sole reason the engine of one of my motorbikes failed. It produced a gum so I've never touched it since. Yes there are folk who swear by it. That's fair enough but that product above is a marketing ploy. There are genuine products out there yes costing 15 18 quid that counteract the effects of E10. Personally I wouldn't touch any of them. Just an injection cleaner with every fill is what I use and have done for over 30 years.
  3. There are many threads about this subject. Many have had their cars spark plugs changed at 50k 60k miles and were told the plugs were good for another 50k miles. Concensus is change at 100k intervals unless there's a specific spark problem.
  4. There are many subs with their own built in amps. Some fit under seats some are boxes of different sizes. Personally if I was on your position I'd put the awesome Alpine sw815 in the boot. Only an 8" speaker but enough to make the panels dance in a Ford focus and Mondeo, I know I still have that sub.
  5. Try the amp from the SE-L that had the Mark Levinson system. I'm sure there are used amps on ebay. That amp should sort your issue.
  6. Blimey. You're not the first one to have the dust shield rub against the disc. So ruddy obvious and we All forget that one lol. Nice one Bilal 👍
  7. Have you looked on YouTube to see how to do a gearbox oil change? There's loads on the auto but I wonder if the bottom of the pan looks the same on both auto and manual. Does your car have a dip stick for the gearbox? Have you out of interest contacted a gearbox specialist just to get a quote?
  8. Hi Rob. Just hang fire, there are a number of fellow to you manual gearbox is250 owners who will soon advise you. How many miles has your car got. How long you had it. Do you know it's history?
  9. Why not just get upgrade halogen bulbs?
  10. Well found. There's hardly anything on repairing the is250 on YouTube basically coz it's such a reliable car. Very interesting video however. One wonders how the radiator got so covered in that fluff. Maybe in that guys situation it came from where he took his car up a mountain road.
  11. Blimey yours really is broken lol. However you are a naughty boy taking a photo whilst driving.
  12. Blimey well done Linas 👏 fingers crossed what you've done is a final solution and the car starts as and when you want.
  13. Hi Mick and welcome to a forum. Actually the best Lexus forum there is. Wow what an introduction. So you were a biker in the 80's then. Me too. The halcyon days. I see you have the RX450H. Superb car. What made you go for it and as John asked what did you move from? This forum has a dedicated RX section which I hope you've found. Full of very knowledgeable folk. You'll be made to feel at home with us lot. Sorry to learn about your back problem but I'm sure you know how to deal with it. How long have you had the RX? You'll love it in no time, I had one but had to let it go for financial reasons. Enjoy your car and the forum.
  14. Market value of the car being low? No. Our is250 cars have shot up in value. I'm no mechanic but an oil leak from the timing chain cover shouts out a seal. A simple job for a standard mechanic. With that kind of mileage get the chain replaced. Shouldn't be more than a couple hundred quid. We'll worth the cost.
  15. Well you'll know how to do it and when you've done have some cake lol.
  16. Right Bilal. That photo of the rear caliper and disc. Just to clarify. Was that photo taken After you did anything to the caliper and drove the car or was the photo taken during what you did with the caliper. The grinding noise file doesn't work but I suspect the grinding noise is down to the condition of that disc. It's knackered. Was it the drivers side caliper you inadvertently dislodged the piston from the caliper? It may be a good idea to buy a refurbished caliper because even though you pushed the piston back in the possibility of dust getting in is just too high. Get two new discs. Get a refurbished caliper for the drivers side. You know what you're doing its just you've lost confidence because of a failure. You've learned from that. Looking again at the photo. A new pad will wear unevenly on that current disc. There's far too much rusty area compared to 'shiny' area. It's fun doing brakes isn't it?
  17. What did the mechanic actually diagnose? How long have you had the car and what kind of service history has it?
  18. Bilal. New pads always need bedding in. I'd suspect since a lot of fluid escaped the reservoir then some air may have sneaked in. Just to be sure bleed your brakes even if you've done so just to make sure. Take it easy for a good few hundred miles to break the pads in. Well done in eventually getting the pads in 👍 Just seen your pic. Yes it looks like you need to top it up a little.
  19. How are the slider pins? It's these that seize. When both pads are out can you move the caliper body towards you and away from you about an inch or two? If not then you won't get your new pads in as the caliper slider pins are seized.
  20. I have the 322GW and with it the plug in rear view camera. The rear view camera plugs into the side of the front facing camera and it produces rather surprising excellent pictures. Why on earth have a separate rear view camera with all that unnecessary wiring is beyond me. What I get from my 322GW is outstanding.
  21. Ok I've just realised something. Is your car a Left hand drive? I'm not sure if there's a difference in which fusebox does what between left and right hand drive cars. However the top photo. That looks about where I have my piggyback fuse located. Does your piggyback back fuse contain a 2amp and a 10amp fuse?
  22. They're not but those covers fit within standard wheels.
  23. You also need a right angle adapter with that shallow USB adapter. I've been using such for over a year for Bluetooth adapter.
  24. Ok. Then as you've started and Len it's probable that the fuse used for the dash cam is the one for the cigarette lighter. When you get time then have you'll find the cover not on the fusebox as the piggyback fuse sits too high for the cover to go back on. Use a torch by the way as visibility is poor without one. Hopefully you've got the owner handbook so you can see which fuse was used for the piggyback. It would be a Red 10amp fuse by the way. Swap the piggyback fuse to another 10amp fuse. Be advised the fuses are the micro type.
