  1. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to poke each hole, but very carefully, to possibly clear any blockages which are quite probably there. After all our cars are quite old and have had many a sweaty bum/back sat in them and cleaned with probably a inappropriate cleaner. I must test mine out come to think of it.
  2. Phone then first to double check. They're open on Saturdays but only till 12 noon. They're very good on Lexus Parts. I've been there too.
  3. Those mini fuses are a pain in the you know what. The plastic fuse removal tool is useless. I used a small normal size pliers to remove the fuses. As for removing the lighter socket they are either push fit or held in by a screw. Do Not Jimmy it out coz you'll wreck the surround. Be careful.
  4. From what I've seen there are labels on the traction batteries stating, along the lines of, only to be touched by a qualified electrician. Only a complete numty would tackle a traction battery. I've seen videos of Prius batteries being changed and by golly the protective clothing and high voltage rated too aswell as all tools needed for the battery swap again high voltage rated. So Colin I can't see why you have an issue with 'qualified'. It's more than just common sence.
  5. Those kind of units have a HUGE drawback. A reliance on a good FM signal which nowadays is as rare as hens teeth. I use to use one like that about 10 years ago when a few unused FM frequencies were available. Now they're not. How they're getting lots of good reviews is beyond me, obviously not from within the UK and more likely false reviews.
  6. Blimey I didn't realise the price difference between 17's and 18's. Mind you when I had a Mondeo with 19's I know I bought new tyres for that but way cheaper than those prices above. I seem to recall about £300 for a pair of nexen which were excellent on that car.
  7. How do you mean you're surprised by the price of the rear tyres? I bought 2 Bridgestone tyres for mine last year and thought the price was very reasonable. Wind deflectors are a good idea I'm actually thinking of getting. I wouldn't bother with the grom as it's old hat now and not worth the money. I didn't think you was after upgrading the headunit. Bilal has now got an android unit which apart from a niggle or two is really good. If you're happy with the set up you have then keep it as it is. If you'd like to upgrade the headunit then there are a few very good android units, I personally favour the Teyes cc3 which actually looks like standard but still has the same size screen as opposed the other types with larger screens.
  8. There's a term for that haze on your car MrT and I can't remember it. The car body shop I took my car to to eliminate as many scratches off my car as possible (and there was thousands now just tens (to get rid of the tens means a full respray)) said that the haze effect is caused by incorrect use of products and can only be rectified by rubbing/polishing down to almost the paint. Personally I'd find a car body shop and get their advice and pay them to go over your car.
  9. Lovely looking car and with those wind deflectors it looks even better. Yes I agree driving a RX makes you a calmer driver, I remember that when I had one tho my is250 is damn close to the RX in that respect. Keep on enjoying your car.
  10. Hi Jit and welcome to is250 ownership. You won't be disappointed. Coming fron an is200 you must love the IS in particular. The only achilles ankle on the 250's are the rear brake calipers. It's the slide pins that seize. Simple enough job to lubricate them once or twice a year. How do you find the driving characteristics between the 200 and 250? Yes the ML system is top notch. Enjoy your new steed.
  11. Hi Ben and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. What a beauty you have. What made you go for it? How does it compare to the other performance cars you've had?
  12. Yup sounds like they're covering their bottoms on this subject for fear of customer reprisals.
  13. Good video Bilal and an honest one too. Shame about the issues but I suppose one has to expect one or two.
  14. The part that's snapped off is just the end 'pretty' part yes? It has no bearing whatsoever on noise or emissions. Its o ly the chrome tail piece and a very short bit of zorst pipe. Keep driving it until you sort a replacement out.
  15. Nice write up Lex. Wow that photo makes your car look really 'moody'. Gorgeous.
  16. I suggest you search this forum and look for I puts from Lucas who yes has a manual is250 but he knows his stuff on rear diffs. He's mentioned autos and knows final drive ratios and I think it's MR2 diffs he's used and that they fit the auto. I forget his user name but its the same as he reg number of his car. Sorry for the vagueness.
  17. Do you have a dedicated car body shop near you? If so it may be worthwhile to get them to look at your car and quote you for repair. Ok it may cost a good few hundred quid but if you intend to keep the car then it'll be worth it. If a good few hundred quid is too much then there are a few very good touch up kits out there. A good kit is about £30 but you need patience.
  18. As above. Forget wrapping unless you want a ruddy awful looking car. Body has to be perfect before any wrapping can go on.
  19. Where the bumper curves in bybthe headlight is more dictated by the screws at the top. It's likely one or more tabs are broken. Great if you can plastic weld, once you take the bumper off you'll be able to repair broken tabs etc.
  20. I suggest you look on YouTube and search replacing headlight on is250. They take the front bumper off and some vids are clear what screws and clips are used and where. From what I remember there are 3 bolts and 3 clips on each side aswell as the pop clips on top and screws on the bottom. I don't recognise that piece you've posted. I partiality removed the upper part of the bumper to replace a headlight on mine a few months back.
  21. Hi Kyle. Best ask in the GS section of the forum. The seats in the GS have a full range of movement, depending upon spec, so I'd say you should fit in nicely once you've adjusted the height. But wow what a change from the best super mini Fiesta ST to a GS450h. Way more relaxing drive and it won't go round bends like your ST. Depending on what year car you're looking for go for SE-L version or Premier then the seats will be all electric and heated/cooled.
  22. Beautiful car Shahpor and I'm slightly jealous. I'd have the stinger as its a superb fast family car. Love the colour. Get some ZX1 in her and you can shorten the run in period which nowadays is a thing of the past. What's the sound system like compared to the GS450h?
  23. Some excellent points there Linas. I would however suggest most Lexus drivers drive sensibly and would probably not get into a situation where, let's say a braking distance where 2m could mean serious injury or not. I'm not familiar with tyre prices even though I bought 2 new Bridgestones for the rear of my is250 (oh they took 1k miles to bed in and stick like pooh to a blanket) but I wonder the premium tyres are near 60% more expensive than budget ones. Anyway this isn't a tyre thread lol.
