Anyone here know who Wayne Rainey is?
Mr Vlad replied to Mr Vlad's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
Yes I saw it too. Ruddy hell what a flying machine. Good ole British engineering blowing everything into the weeds. -
Yeah Andy. I intend to do that this week. I do most of my listening when I'm driving as driving is my job.

No b4u2. Excellently put Len 👍. Thanks for putting up the YouTube video VFR 👍. I've just watched that again and still it brought a tear to my eye. You know what Bernard I really still love moto gp and follow it but my heart is still in the 80's 90's and those bonkers 2 strokes. -
Why am I asking this you might wonder. Those of us who do know who he is will know he was one of the very best 500cc moto gp riders ever. That accident he had which paralysed him from chest down shocked all us fans massively. That was about 30 years ago. Why am I posting this now. Well this afternoon I watched a recording of the Goodwood festival. There was a section about the awesome Yamaha 500cc race bike but what was to follow left me dumbstruck. I saw on my TV Wayne Rainey ride one of his old Yamaha 500cc two stroke monsters up the Goodwood hill followed by King Kenny Roberts. I'm totally gobsmacked and oh so in awe by what I witnessed. To see him ride again was awesome. That man is super human and have so much will power and guts as to ride a motorbike whilst being paralysed is just mind blowing. I still can't get over it a few hours later but my god if he can do that then there's got to be more than hope for other paralysed people. I just had to post this. I'm sure there's a few on here who remember Wayne Rainey but didn't know about him riding a bike at Goodwood. Thanks for reading.

Hi Boris. I understand your reasons but as far as interior space I have a doubt. Why? Because when I was looking to buy an is300h (same rear room as a gen 2 IS) I fell for a GS300H. At the time I had my wife her youngest daughter and her 2 children one of which was a baby. I took the GS out for a test drive with daughter and son and baby seat. I really liked the GS but then took the IS out same set up. After both runs I asked the daughter and son which they preferred. IS was the answer. I was really surprised. I asked why and they felt more comfortable in the IS. Must be the huge prop shaft tunnel in the GS I suppose. Oh and the boot in my is250 is surprisingly bigger than one thinks. I've had 13 Big rubble bags each around 35kg in that boot. I even posted on here cheap lowering kit lol. Thanks for your input.

Well it's a Saturday afternoon and I'm sat outside my local Wetherspoons with a pint of Wobbly Bob (highly recommended real ale drink) and I thought I'd have a look on auto trader for an is250 SE-L and to my surprise there are 28. Twenty Eight. What gets me is why. I just can't understand it. I absolutely love mine and I know there are many many like me there. This week there are a few very low milers. That alone is weird. Where have they been stored? Their owners have some explaining to do. Yes ok a bigger car is needed. But what else? Is something wrong with that car? Judging by how some of the ads are written I'd say Yes. Really dodgy grammar. The gen 2 is250, even the gen 3, is a most superb car and a keeper because basically there isn't a car its size better. Just thought I'd post this question to gauge responses.

Hi Paul. There is no problem whatsoever with having to sign in to a BBC app. I've not had or come across any issues with having to do so. I use the music and TV ones by the way. The BBC is the best quality by far I've found. There's an icon to click which means once done it remembers you and you don't have to sign in. Yes I do have an account but as I've stated I've had no issues ever with BBC apps and I've had them for years probably over a decade.

No video for this musician as I only came about him today c/o Spotify and how well it knows me lol. The musician is Bjorn Riis. The track that Introduced me to him is a track called Winter. From that I've now heard his 1st three alums and part way through his latest. Very much like his music.

Hi George. I can't remember the name of the place but there's a highly recommended place in Leeds that makes custom exhausts. Stainless Steel too but some don't like that because of a natural drone but I believe it can be tuned out. Look on here as there's a good few threads about exhausts.

Hi Simon and welcome to is250 ownership. Don't worry about the satnav as it's old hat but it's still up to most tasks. After a few I puts of a postcode a list of street names appears, the one you want should be in that list. If not then just use Google maps on your phone. Wise move to check the forum on the VSC light. The cruise is a doddle to use, I'm surprised you're having problems. Enjoy your car as they're arguably the best car on the road.

Sat nav update

I'd browse the forum if I were you. Since your car is a 2012 I'm not sure if yours is CD driven or by a memory stick. Find this out first. If its CD then you have the latest. If memory stick then I don't know. -
Would IS200T make more sense for me than IS300H?
Mr Vlad replied to boyo's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Well put Linas but I have to disagree with you about the is300h. That 2.5 4 pot is a very very good engine. I drove mine in all conditions and speeds. Economy was excellent, never got less than 50mpg. With a full traction battery it flew off the line. Quicker than my is250. Yes it lost battery quite quickly but it charged up surprisingly quickly too. Would I ho back to one? Not whilst I have my is250. -
Employment applications...what’s happened!
Mr Vlad replied to steve2006's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
There's plenty of driving jobs out there both full and part-time. I recently changed jobs after reading an unbelievable advert on Indeed and low and behold 2 days later an email inviting me to an online interview. After a short meet with the depot transport manager the job was mine. Last job was from one of those A frame boards advertising for a driver. The company was one I regularly delivered to so when they found out I was interested they bent over backwards. I think that frozen food place Iceland is a beggar to get in. I know friends who applied to no avail. Supermarkets are in need of home delivery drivers. Try those and best of British. -
Hi Graeme. I don't think it's a straight swap. Since you have the none nav system then if you want to upgrade then there are a number of android units available for your car. The Teyes CC3 is probably the best. However look on here as someone has installed the full screen chinese type headunit. Look on YouTube on how to install an android headunit. With an android unit you can add a reverse camera.

Gas guzzling is250? Blimey you must be driving that car hard 100% of the time. My is250 until end of April only travelled 3 miles each way to work and it averaged around 28mpg. To me that's excellent for what the car is. Now I travel 7 miles each way, 5 of which on motorway and I'm averaging 32mpg. The is200T isn't that good a car unfortunately. I was considering one before I got the is300h a few years back as it had the same power as the Ford Mondeo titanium x sport 2.0 ecoboost I had. But the mondeo much more superior car. Much better pull from the engine and much better fuel economy. Linas on here had the RC200t and basically he kind of hated it if I remember right. I've had the is300h and have the is250. Which is better? To me they're much the same superb car. I never got below 50mpg in the 300h and my 250 just sounds glorious. Would I have another 300h? Not whilst I have the 250. Get your 250 looked at as I suspect it needs a service and some TLC. -
Odd Check VSC issue

Absolutely as above. A jolt whilst under braking is very much a concern. Keep us updated with how you get on.
