Hi Steven and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. You've chosen well with the awesome is250. As for the vland rear lights they are a personal thing. The rear lights on your car are better in my opinion. The only achilies heal with the is250 are the rear brake caliper slide pins, they tend to seize if not lubricated once or twice a year. Otherwise you've got arguably the best car out there. I really like those wheels. They look like the 18" wheels I had on the is300h premier. Are they 18" or 17" wheels on your car? There's lots to read on here about the is250 so I recommend you spend a couple hours trawling the gen2 section of the IS forum.

Well I had an early ish finish yesterday so I washed my car. Gave it a dose of TFR then a quick wash with auto glym shampoo conditioner then a microfiber towel dry. After a min or two whilst putting the hose away I noticed and thought gawbanbennet what a cracking looking car that it. Shiny black paint. It just looked ace. Would I sell it? No ruddy chance.

Hi Robert. A deposit on a new car? New as in new or a used car? Did you not consider using your is200 as a deposit? Yes used car prices are a bit on the high side. What car are you getting then?

Very good video and more poignant today than then. Some clever gits out there making those videos.

What a good article. Pity there aren't many people like him in the automotive industry.

Have to totally disagree with you Linas. I had the UR Quattro for just over 8 years in the 80's when I was in my 20's and its in that car I learnt to drive expletives fast and hard. No car I've had or had a go in handled like the Quattro, close but not as sure footed. As for the is250 handling as good as a 3 series beemer well that comes from 3 series beemer owners I know who've driven my car and I theirs. Can you do a direct comparison Linas? Oh that toyota crown looks real niiiiiiiiice. I'd have one, would probably make an excellent family car.

Eh up Lucas. I'm no drifter but I've had mine drift but only after much provocation lol. I've got another reason why to get rid of an is250. Sunday I picked up new born grandson with its mum and dad. No then the dad is 6"3" and he was too big for the passenger seat and only just fit after lowering it fully. And leather seats are ruddy awful for baby seats. I bought a car seat anti slip mat which is a brilliant idea.

Oh dear Lee. You've opened a proper can of worms lol. You however have a RX so the worms don't count. Stick with what the car came with when new. Cracking tyres after just 2 years means you've not checked pressures regularly enough or more than likely not enough air pressure. Go to the RX section of the forum and look for threads on tyre choices. Good luck.

Hi Jesse. WOW with what you've doing to your is250. You wasn't being judged by Shahpor in anyway at all, he just gave an opinion. But you are right buddy, you are Indeed from a different world. This is however a very interesting thread. Mating a six pot beemer engine in the IS seems weird but you've stated you are a beemer man. Personally I'd have put the Toyota six pot (I forget it's designation) as its oh so much a better engine. I hope you do something about those goddam awful joins where kit joins body. Fill the gaps to make it look smooth coz at the minute it looks naff sorry to say. Look forward to next episode.

Hi Marian. I'd get that trim from Latvia. There's no problem with that. You'll have ebay guarantees. I've bought trim pieces from Latvia and they only took a few days to arrive.

Hi Ian and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. You've definitely got to post in the LS section as that's where the owner are. We look forward to your cars refresh.

Well I very nearly found a reason to get rid. My youngest daughter hopefully today will give birth to her 3rd. She got a pram and baby seat. I usually test these for quality and fit before the day but today I test fitted the baby seat which nowadays need to be rear facing. I was horrified on the utter bad fit. Wobbly all over the place. I thought the car rear seat just to bucket seat type. All previous cars I chauffeured my new born grandkids had 'flatter' seats and no issues with baby seat fitting. Anyway woman at halfords was superb. After a car seat grip mat the baby seat now fits as it should plus I didn't quite have the routing of the seat belt right, had the belt over a bit it should have gone under.

That's a nice jig and I've seen them in a few garages over the years. £69 for a door? Grab their hands off so longs as it's in very good nick. As for door skins it was general practice a good few decades ago and insurance approved. Don't know nowadays as I've been lucky enough not to needed that kind of service. As for the wiring loom in the door I suppose it depends where the multiplug is as that could dictate if the job would be a b itch or not. But personally I'd have a m8 to assist coz you just don't know and you'd hate yourself if you dropped it and even damaged the sill. Defo 2 man job.

Eh up Bilal. Well done in getting that 2.5k from the 3rd party insurance company. Do you have a car body repair shop anywhere near you? Maybe getting a new door skin then all existing wiring will be there still. Otherwise getting a door from a scrapper is the only option. Having help though as the door may well be heavier than you'd expect. As for ML speakers and wiring then that depends on spec of car the used door came from.

I had a 1/4 tank of E5 but decided to fill up on E10. Have I noticed any difference? No. I always use Millers ecoboost additive by the way. My thoughts about none compatibility of E10 to a number of cars is changing. After watching just how much ethanol is in E10 compared to E5 its virtually no different. I'm going to alternate between the two. If anything fails in the future then it'll simply get addressed.

That's more than a reasonable reason to change a car. 9 years is a long time. 7 years is my record but that car after all was the UR Quattro. Yeah roadtax is a thorn in car ownership. Its weird that the same car one an auto and the other a manual gearbox yet the road tax for both is so different. I think it's a lottery than emissions. The road tax being lower on Jags is not the case. I got a quote for a V8 S-type and it was eye watering.
