  1. Hi Steve. Sorry I have to disagree. Celestial Black is the Best colour although not available on the 250 but on the 300h. I am a lover of black cars. The 4 Lexus cars I've had have been black.
  2. Hi Sean and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Congratulations on your purchase. Hopefully you know about the dedicated NX section of the forum. I recommend you get in there. Read the myriad of threads which interest you. All your queries will be found there. What made you choose the NX and Lexus in particular? What was your previous car?
  3. Hi Nick. It is recommended that you get Techstream. This is the Only diagnostic program that works 100% with your car. Other generic ones only work at best 70ish%. What you could do for now is disconnect the battery and leave disconnected for 30-45 minutes. This usually clears codes But if they appear again Techstream will tell you exactly what the problem is and what needs to be replaced. One thing I suggest, and to all is250 owners, is to take the multiplug off the ABS unit and check the condition of the pins of the plug and the sockets of the ABS unit. I unfortunately found water ingress and rust in the sockets which meant the ABS unit had to be replaced. Scarey yes but it happened to my car and that had a Full Dealer service history.
  4. Hi Gary. Although it's been quite a while since I last had a Lexus Hybrid but even so I've read on quite a few forums that faults like yours are down to the Start button itself. Yes your car is new but 'dodgy' switches/buttons are getting to be a common occurrence.
  5. Hi Steve and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Excellent choice the gen 3 RX. I had the f-sport and I loved it. Unfortunately due to economic situation I was in it had to go otherwise I'd still have it. I'm sure you know about the RX section of the forum. Enjoy.
  6. In all seriousness Lucasz the time and expense in finding a V8 engine and All the wiring that'll be needed aswell as fabrication of mounts etc you may aswell buy an isf and save yourself money and stress.
  7. Good point Gary. Not as simple as it first seems 🤔
  8. I think it looks outstanding. Welldone to the person who did the custom work. 👌👍🤘
  9. Hi Eric. Why do you want to put high profile tyres on your is250? They will upset the handling of the car. Stick with the standard size.
  10. Tom. Do take heed of the advice from Lucas. He's done many mods to his is250's and he knows his stuff.
  11. Hi Tom. Welcome to is250 ownership. You really k ow what your doing so I doff my cap to you. You've done some excellent work on your car and plan to carry on too. You'll have no problem getting 200k miles out of it. That car will go well beyond. Since you took the inlet manifold off did you notice any carbon build up in the ports?
  12. You won't get a reply as the guy who started this thread hasn't been back on since October 2016. If you have an issue with your car and you're unsure then please do start a new thread here in the gen 2 IS. You're more likely to get plenty of feedback.
  13. Also it could be the Faraday pouch not fully sealed or become worn out. They wear out, so to speak, some within weeks or months.
  14. Hello Andrew and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Lovely looking car you have. Nice to know you've been a Lexus fan for a number of years. What made you wait for the NX and not get an older car like the incredible is250? What was your previous car?

Hi Rik. You asked about how to check the cars service history. From memory you need to go on the Lexus website and look under 'my Lexus ' and register your car. You need to provide the log book number and give your car a name. From this you click on your car and within navigate to that cars service history. It'll show All services and repair and warranty work done by Lexus. It won't however show independent garage work. Like I said this info is from memory. I'm sure someone will come along and correct me. I could tell from the site the service history of the 4 Lexus cars I've owned.
  16. Eh up Mahmood I wish you well in your looooooong trip. I hope you post some noisy tunnel excursions lol. I miss my is250 so you be careful in places where d**heads litter the roads with their abominable 'driving'.
  17. What diagnostic system did you actually use Poor? If it was Techstream then fine. If not then you've wasted money on whatever diagnostic system you got. Techstream will show hidden codes too. I've had a few diesels in my time but I've never come across your symptoms. How long have you had the car? Why did you choose the diesel?
  18. If you clean the throttle body Make Sure You Unplug The Multiplug it has. Failing to do that and you move the butterfly then you'll have issues alright. Have you got Techstream? If not then get it. Run it's diagnostics to see if there are any hidden codes. And as Lucas mentioned. Check the plugs and coil packs. How many miles on your car? You could have a carbon build up issue which can cause running issues. Do you know the cars service history?
  19. Absolutely. One has to keep on top of the condition of the cars battery. If I were you I'd regularly, as in daily, measure the voltage of the battery and at the same time of day. With the age of these cars now the alternator may be showing signs of dying. As an example. My beloved is250's alternator packed up at around the 85k mile mark. And my car had a 100% dealer service history. Just a thought.
  20. That sound remi is me of someone local who has a LS430 with what can only be described as a straight through exhaust system. Sounds ruddy awesome. Lowered aswell. Looks good.
  21. Yes. A tough choice. The 335d is a fabulous car and one I've kind of wanted for the past 15 or so years. But the is250 overall is a better car and will outlast the beemer. Enjoy your is250. I miss mine terribly.
  22. Which car are you talking about? Malc mentioned a GSF yet your profile states a LS600h. Either way your nexbase, if correctly wired, will Not drain your cars battery. Not even if wired to be on all the time.
  23. Oooops read Price for time in my last post.
  24. Sorry but you're wrong. Insurance companies now Must give renewal quotes at the same time a new customer would get a quote for. It's now law
  25. Hi Arfan. You should look in the 'for sale' section of the forum. Other than that the usual two suspects of auto trader and ebay. Have you looked in the gen 2 IS secret of the forum? Excellent thread on what to look out for when buying an is250. I see you have a GS450h. Are you downsizing?
