  1. Hi Anthony. To get all the information you need about the is250 look at the first topic in this part of the forum. It's titled What to look out for in an is250.
  2. Hi Tadas. The items I bought don't seem to be available on eBay. But what I got was a shallow 12v cigarette power adapter. A 90° USB to USB adapter. A Bluetooth adapter that has a 3.5mm jack to plug into the aux socket located in the armrest. The other part of the Bluetooth adapter plugs into the 90° USB. You need the 90° adapter otherwise the armrest lid won't close. Hope this helps. By a shallow 12v socket I mean one that isn't a standard one which is about an inch long. One that just sticks above the top of the power socket in the armrest.
  3. Then it's worth getting new bushings as the ones on your car are as old as it and would benefit from being replaced.
  4. Hi Mathew yes it looks like you've got a guddun. Since your car is a 2010 then you're ok to use E10. To confirm look on the gov website. Just type E10 compatability in Google.
  5. Personally speaking I'd say if that garage didn't have a source of heat namely a welding torch then they're Not worth going to again. Heat and a bit of brute force would lose that and any seized bolt. Ask family and friends who they go to.
  6. I don't know what to make of that article. I watched the video within it and being of Ukrainian and White Russian parents I only understood as little as 10% of it. The other 90% sounded Russian. I think that article was actually a funny one in parts and I'd class it as one of those 'spooks ' or 'spoof' types.
  7. You must have witnessed a shoddy car washer Paul. I'm surprised that the ones I've seen at dealers were really good. Careful and they looked like they were enjoying it. Just goes to show where one 'service ' at a place is very good and at another really shoddy. That's where forums like this and social media etc are valuable to get independent reviews of a 'service ' but one does have to fish out the false ones that are deliberately put in there.
  8. Errrrrr I'm confused. It's been a long tiring day. But aren't those 2 examples the same result? Am I missing something? (probably) lol. This makes me wonder just how long a service actually takes. An hour I don't think is doable. From actual start to finish including finding the car then driving it to the bay then doing what they do as a service then drive it back to the car park. Nah an hour is too short.
  9. Not sure if truckers still use CB radio Bill. Don't know about Vlad the bounty hunter. I buy them quite regularly as they're my 2nd favourite chocolate bar. Wisper is no1. Actually I am know as Mad Vlad due to my antics on motorbikes in my youth lol 😆 Pre dinner Grants John? What about after dinner John? Hic!🍹?
  10. What happened to you Andrew was 110% a Scam. If I remember correctly there was a programme on TV some time ago (a programme like that little guy who goes after bullies, can't remember his name) and I'm sure it was him doing that programme. That scam has happened so many times over the years. I'm sorry you fell victim to it and I won't dwell on it. Don't be daft John. I took no inference. I just replied in my usual way lol. I'd stand with you to defend anything pal 👍
  11. John I'm a professional truck driver and I don't speed in it. My truck has 360° cameras and telematics so we'd get told off if found to speed. As for car I know where and when to go fast 😉. That email sent to me stated facts. If those mercenaries started here then all hell would break out. Getting Joe public to do the coppers work? Bang out of order in my book.
  12. I got this email today from an organisation ive been a member of for a good number of years. This subject is rather scary in a way. One wonders if itll happen here. What do you think? Hi Vladimir Information was released last week which revealed more than 500,000 Motorists in France were caught speeding by privately operated speed cameras last year... The cameras are being operated not by traffic police... but by private individuals acting as undercover mercenaries! The French government pays them a commission for each speeding ticket they generate. The speed camera in their car does all the 'work' by calculating the speed of any Drivers who are moving away from them, and reporting them automatically. 6.65 million vehicles were targeted last year, resulting in over 500,000 fines totaling €76 million. There are 450 of these mercenaries operating, meaning that by my calculation, on average they raised €168,888 each for the French government last year... So how long before this "spy on your neighbours" type of speed camera comes to the UK? Well, we don't know. But based on the totalitarian trajectory of the the World in 2022 it seems like quite a natural step for cash strapped governments to me.
  13. Well said Herbie. When I had my 2nd one I could drive almost 4 miles on battery alone. That's after travelling 9 miles on the motorway and having a 'full' battery. I'm sure I mentioned that when I had that car. Time of day would be around 2.45am as I was on a 3am start then. Luxury. I'm now on a 2am start 🥺 some years later.
  14. Blimey Ahmed. I didn't even know those cards existed. Better than the 'bulky' key fob. Where did you get it from? Mind you needing techstream is enough to put me off lol. Great work m8 👍
  15. Hi Rob and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. Don't worry about this notice you see. All it means is that the traction battery is low and won't drive your car on electric until it has reached a certain level. I've had 2 of these by the way and from memory there is a small display within the menu's which shows you the level of charge. Once a certain level of charge has been reached then with little throttle you'll be driving on electric. Max range is a low one about 4 or 5 miles at best. Best way to charge the traction battery is by braking. Brake early But lightly. Example. You'll be used to braking about 30 foot from where you need/want to stop. Get in the habit of braking 50 or 60 foot but lightly. Also coasting charges it aswell. Have a look in the gen 3 IS section of this forum. Introduce yourself there and you'll find All the answers to your questions. Now enjoy your new car.
  16. Hi Neurus. The 'buttons ' on the left refer to the touchscreen. The reason is because the size of the screen is such that those buttons are hidden by the frame. The buttons on the frame work in place of the ones on the screen.
  17. At the end of the day Eric its personal choice and impression. Your Subaru is undoubtedly a ruddy good car and yes you Can make Direct comparisons with the manual gearbox is250. What I can say about comparing the Same car is that the same model/spec car can be like chalk and cheese. My personal experience is with a top spec is300h. I had 2 identical spec cars and the only difference was the registration number. However the two cars were oh so different. I've posted this on here too many times. What I'm saying is the possibility of Your is250 is that it wasn't as good as what a manual gearbox is250 should be. Lexus make superb cars But unfortunately within the same model there are too many differences. One car will be great yet the next won't. What Lex experienced in his car was fantastic and although comparisons with other cars wasn't the best way to go without it being from direct experience Don't put him down because of it. You love your subaru he loves his Lexus. Actually I'd love to race you on a road like the Snake Pass or over the Woodhead Pass. I'd surprise you. Yes your car has more power and 4 wheel drive. I care not. I've lots more driving experience than you and many many more miles than you. Ok back to not being silly. What I'm saying is Don't 'slag' off saying your subaru is better than the is250. I say it Isn't. You say it Is. No I've not driven a subaru nor do I want to. There's nothing about them that interest me. As for rallying there's only one car for me and I had one for over 7 years. Here endeth my sermon 👍
  18. Pavel I'd question the reliability of the Lexus garage you got your incorrect information from. I'd ask for a free service due to the frustration caused to you by their incorrect Information as compensation.
  19. Sounds like an electrical interference. Maybe a dodgy connection to do with the android headunit you fitted recently? Try one of those in-line radio interference thingy's (forget what they're called) or if you have one already fitted then remove it. I had similar when I put a Bluetooth adapter in my car. Put one of those in-line interference things on and it whined but when I removed it no whine.
  20. That's an interesting file Colin comparing different services. The one outstanding part was differential oil change. On my last service which was a Minor I specifically asked for the rear differential oil to be changed. It was done. I did post it because I Wasn't charged. That service comparison chart isn't the one I was thinking about But it does clearly show the differences.
  21. The difference between the 2 services is that in the full All filters are changed and a more thorough examination of your car. Plus brake fluid replacement. On the Lexus site from a couple years ago they gave a good table showing the differences. I can't find that anymore.
  22. Yes lovely colour. As for the mats. If you got it from a lexus dealer then definitely get them to send you some. If from an Independent then just go on lexus parts direct and buy some.
