  1. The dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Engine light on aswell as others but the most drastic thing was total loss of power steering. Yes that bit was a battery derived issue but because it wasn't being charged there you go. Even after buying a new battery that didn't last because it wasn't charging. But all tip top good now.
  2. Blimey David your story reminded me of a similar tail. Years ago when I was first married I took the then wife to South London (don't ask where as I can't remember lol) to a dolls house fair (she was well into dolls houses and by eck so are many others and some of the houses go fir hundreds of pounds). Anyway on the way there we went around on the M25. Coming back I thought we'd go straight up. BIG MISTAKE. It was the most frustrating drive I've ever had and I've not been to London since and never will. That would have been early to mid 90's. I bet its even worse now.
  3. Yes isn't human error brilliant? lol Anyway clean air zones. What a con. A city can be a clean air zone But the motorway that runs right through the centre of it Isn't a clean air zone. Where's the sence in that? There just isn't any.
  4. Yes Phil you're bang on. Just watched a TV programme about cops catching Britain's speeders. Apparently a Skoda had flagged ANPR and was hunted down by both marked and un-marked cop cars. A whole two lane carriageway was stopped whilst the cops from 3 or 4 cars harried the driver. Fact is the reg on this skoda was inputted wrong by ONE digit. The driver was let go. A clerical error resulting in a Tpac from the police and hundreds of motorists waiting on a carriageway for a good few minutes. ANPR seems a good thing but unfortunately it's down to a human inputting info into the system. And we All make mishtakes sometimes.
  5. That question Bernard must surely win Question of the year.
  6. There is a retro fitted electric converted MGB and this example makes great sense. Just as much range. Handles the same. Power however. The power is around 3 times and makes the MGB a proper MGB. Other small old British sports cars would benefit from electric conversion. Me? I'd love the money to have a Rover SD1 V8 converted to a 5 litre V10. Sacrilege I know but that's my ultimate car.
  7. I couldn't put it better myself Eric 👍
  8. I had to get mine changed and rapidly as I was going away. Had it done at Lexus but supply fit and test cost 800 quid. Mind you I got a free loan car for 3 days a UX250h no less.
  9. Have you tried Lexus Parts Direct? In my experience they seem generic to a number of models. Try Toyota models as I bet a few models will use the same ones. Or try the Lexus breakers in Accrington (Oswaldtwistle).
  10. Now now Max. lol. That's a very good job they've done Danny and a fantastic price too.
  11. Oh dear Lucas. I'm disappointed you think Rover cars are *******. They're actually superb and I've had 12 of them. The problem with the solid flywheel replacing DMF was particularly with the diesel cars. Oh the Rover diesel cars had BMW engines. I'm not knocking your knowledge but what I've stated is Fact. I'm talking historically and about 15 years ago maybe 18.
  12. Changing from a DMF to a Solid Mass flywheel can be Catastrophic. Why? Because of the weight difference. Its been the case where such a swap has been done and a massive vibration because the crank is out of balance and gives up. Its happened to RoverMG cars (I know from my Rover years and the forum). It's probably happened to orher brands of cars too.
  13. Shahpor I've been watching him for a couple of years. Yes he's a clever fella and he knows how to distort facts. Yes he used the RC-f as an example because its that cars engine that Yamaha help design and make it run on hydrogen. Using the RC-f was his flawed mistake. Because that ki d of car isn't suitable for hydrogen power. However the GS-f could well be. The Toyota Mirai can do around 350 miles on its two tanks of hydrogen. I'm sure those same tanks could be utilised in the GS-f.
  14. That Jason fella explaining the negatively of hydrogen power for cars. Blimey I've been watching his videos for a laugh. He certainly knows how to bamboozle with figures with that p taking grin he has. I take everything he says with a pinch of salt.
  15. No comment about the car but I've been in love with Ginny for decades. And she's a Rochdale lass. Ok comment on the car. I think the thinking behind it is genius. It weighs a ton and goes for 250 miles? Definitely Not a performance car in any respect and fast enough for our congested roads. As fir looks? Typical Citroën fantastic lunatic brilliance.
  16. I can't remember if the wheels are all the same size, it's just the tyre sizes that differ front and back.
  17. No. 245/40/18. The 40 is the aspect ratio of the tyre width. NOT its profile height.
  18. check this out. I found it by accident (excuse the pun) the workmanship is outstanding.
  19. That car can easily be repaired. There's a video on YouTube where an is250 worse than that is repaired superbly. Shame about that damage though 😕
  20. Oooops my bad on the year of the car. And yes Linas you're bang on the money where heating a 'rusted' nut off. I had a similar issue when I did the front suspension gaitors on mine. Bottom nut was eventually heated to hot and a very long bar used to slacken them. I gave all subsequent nuts a good going over (cleaned and greased).
  21. What I find strange is that a 2010 is250 has truly rusted suspension bolts/nuts that a main dealer can't solve. My 2007 car this August as part of its service had full alignment and all nuts were undoable. That 2010 car I have to assume must have lived in a salty atmosphere and I'd have walked away from it. Yes Peter you Need a car. If that's basically for once a week then in the meantime use a taxi or get a lift. Get your hard earned back and find another car elsewhere. And to do a favour to us all who is the dealer? This info is very important to future possible customers.
  22. Absolutely as above and get it to a garage before going Anywhere else as you may be the cause of an accident. Preferably get it towed. I too haven't heard of such an issue.
  23. And another welcome Peter. What was your first Lexus?
  24. Hi David. That diesel engine isn't worth tuning. Just read this forum as its been talked about to near death. There's probably one or two out there in Internet land that have tuned their is220d so maybe look on YouTube. Otherwise if you want a more powerful diesel then the o ly one I'd go for is the 3.0l beemer.
