I always thought happiness was a cigar called Hamlet. I wasn't happy after smoking one some years ago lol. I'm getting a bit peeved off with EV is better than petrol. Petrol is better than EV. Its getting tiresome. Its creeping into most threads slowly but surely. Yes folk gave strong opinions but that's not a good thing as its like shoving something down someone's throat. So what EV cars are going to be taxed. Everything gets taxed so what's with the big hoohah over it? Get over it. YES Ev's have their place. That's a given. Fossil fuel cars have their place too. I favour EV But I doubt I'll be in a position to get one so fir the foreseeable I'll stick with my 2.5l V6 and be happy I enjoy driving it 😁

That's a proper 'h'ummer and a sad situation Neil. How Lexus replied to you is a shamble and its as if they just fobbed you off. That was a clear and unadulterated canbus theft. It's unfortunately happening quite a bit of late. So much for technology eh. Your insurance must surely pay up to you as your video evidence is flawless.

There's been quite a bit on here about car thefts. A good number of threads and I suggest you find them and read them. Faraday pouches are very good but wear out after a few months. Faraday boxes last forever. A visible deterrent like a crooklock or the sort that goes over the steering wheel. The latest theft method it seems now is using a gizmo and it talks to the cars canbus and hey presto the tealeaf opens the car and drives it away without the need of a key. You could go full hog though. Get air ride suspension fitted and when you park your car drop it to the ground. Your car will be safe. The place where the canbus is tricked is safe. Your car can't be jacked up and towed. Plus the car looks awesome on air. Ok drastic I know but if the tealeaf wants it they'll get it.

Xenon headlight bad?
Mr Vlad replied to BC99's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Hi James. Forget new unless you can spare about 450 quid. Look on eBay. There are a few on there. I bought one last year of eBay and it was like brand new and for just 130 quid. Yeah the bumper is a pain. I just undid the top screws and studs and sprung the top of the bumper away, there's plenty of play but don't pull the top part away too much incase you break the bottom screws. -
Yup or is it yep 🤔

I forgot to mention about peeing after the camera. I went to Rochdale Infirmary for my exam. As I wasn't sure where to go I went in the main entrance where I was shown where to go. Basically round the back lol. Anyway after my exam I found I was in need of a wee. Wasn't looking forward to it but back to the main entrance where there are toilets. Ooooh what a sting but less than expected so I suppose a relief. Couldn't tell if any blood came out aswell. Got home and sorted I went to local aldi but I did not have anything to drink just incase I got short lol. When home I processed to have a litre of vimto. Half an hour later I needed a wee. Peed in a measuring jug (had one ready as some time ago I had to record everything I drank volume wise and measure my wee volume for 3 days. In and out were quite close which was surprisingly good news considering) and noticed blood that looked tadpole like. Again stingy but tolerable. About 4 more wee's that day and the last one no signs of blood and barely a tingle. Today as back to normal as normal is. Thanks all for your lovely comments. Much appreciated 👍

Well I had my Cystoscopy yesterday and a prostrate examination. What can I say. It was a very weird sensation. The first step was to clean my member and whatever was used it was ruddy cold, enough to numb it lol. Next the camera. Very well explained by the female who gave a running commentary. Boy I could feel the water jets and the sensation of the camera going in well it felt comfortably sharp. I was told my bladder was fine which was welcome news. Next the prostrate examination. Weird again sensation and was told it was fine. I really should have asked what she meant by that but the news overtook any sence I might have had. Anyway going for another one in a few months with a view for surgery on my prostrate. Ho hum isn't life just fine and dandy.

Thanks Trevor. How a car looks is a personal thing. To me the 5 looks great. You really surprised me saying the 1st lot of 4's had oil leaks? I'm flummoxed how an electric car can have an oil leak. Sure you've got the right car? Roewe actually make a couple of fabulous cars. The equivalent of the 75 is one. And yes I'm a Rover 75/MG ZT fan and lover. Of my 28 odd cars I've had only a ZT and a UR Quattro I had for 7 years or more.

Hi Clinton. You need to get back to us and let us know what wheel size and tyre sizes are on your car. My 07 plate runs on 17" wheels with a cheap tyre on the front ( they're actually really good) and Bridgestone on the rear. The ride is oh so compliant and rides over speed bumps like they're not there. All above posts are correct and a cone back from you is needed so actual help can be given.

That's the one.

Tesco E5 is now only 7p dearer a litre than E10. Thought I'd get back to fuel lol

Have a look on YouTube and look for Marty Motoring. His last video is on TPMS on his isf lexus (he's done loads of Lexus video stuff) using a Bluetooth OBD tool. Can't remember what the scan tool is but it looks the beez neez.

Blimey. But I'm sure I've seen in halfords a full service at around the £365 mark. I'll have to have another look just to make sure.

Thanks for that post Herbie and I'm so glad that your bladder cancer got cured. Fantastic post of your experience of a cystoscopy and I fully appreciate your telling us of it. I'm kind of looking forward to the cystoscopy as I'm intrigued what's going on in there so to speak. Yes John it certainly is a small world we live in. Hope Monday goes well and do please let me know how it went.

I suppose so longs as it's gen 2 seat from an ISF then I can't see any fitment issues. RCF quite possibly but GSF I doubt as it's a bigger car (different positions of fixing holes).

Not sure why I'm posting this but I suppose it's because I'm wondering if anyone has had this done. The nearest I've had similar is years ago having an aids test. I'll never forget that test. 3 times a swab put up my pee tube. On the 3rd time I almost fainted. I'm having this test because of my enlarged prostrate. Diagnosed just before covid set in and its taken this long to have this test done. I was prescribed Tamsulosin which I took for a few months but to no avail in helping my symptoms. Why I went to my doctors was because I was getting up 3 or 4 times a night for a wee. This was having such a negative effect on my life. Also it felt like I was desperate to go for a wee only to find a trickle came out. Not a good time of my life. So after a UV scan of my full bladder then empty bladder it was clear that my prostate was enlarged. Back to Tamsulosin. Funnily enough whilst on YouTube I kept seeing ads for prostate cures/relief etc. So I must have watched almost a hundred until this particular ad was different. Prostate Pro is the product I bought 2 years ago and a 2 year supply. Within 2 months I had a full night's sleep. OMG what a relief. Ok I spent about £400 but and a BIG but it WORKED. So I'm out of that product just. And this appointment comes along for next week. So I'm wondering if anyone has undergone a Cystoscopy and would care to share their experience of it being done.

The Frustration of the "Bow wave" Effect
Mr Vlad replied to NemesisUK's topic in Lexus General Discussions
The overtaking of a slower car only for that slower car to accelerate so that you look a fool is oh so a common occurrence. As you may know I drive 7.5 ton truck and unfortunately its limited to 54mph. Yes 54mph. Now I've come across too many dozzy barstuards who trundle along in their own little world at 52mph. They ate rudely awoken by a truck dareingly overtaking them and with steam coming out of their ears speed up to OMG 55mph. This behaviour of the dozzy barstuard is infuriating at best. Now then about a 4 lane motorway. The M62 heading from Bradford to Manchester is an expletive nightmare. Yes I see everytime I go there that the 1st 3 lanes are occupied by trucks. Bang out of order in my book. In those situations of 4 lanes of motorway trucks should be limited to the 1st 2 lanes. I'm sure it's written somewhere that this is the right protocol. As for cruise control. There ate pros and cons with it. Personally I only use it in situations where the speed limit within roadworks are speed camera monitored. Any other time no. Why? Because the use of your right foot is way more economic than any type of cruise control. And yes I've used radar type cruise control and yes its ruddy great when a car pulls out and the system reacts quicker than you but that's all its good for. So about the bow wave. Very interesting interpretation. 👌 -
The independents and I mean the likes of Halfords Kwikfit etc charge almost as much as Lexus do. Within 90% from what I've seen. With a brand new car though it should be serviced at its dealership for the few years of that cars warranty. After the guarantee/warranty period then an independent could be used but one that the car owner knows has a good reputation gained from either personal experience or recommended by friends or family. Personally because my car has a full lexus service history I'm continuing it because my car deserves it plus I get great service.

Hello Trevor and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is and to Lexus ownership. That quote you got for a 5 year deal is actually very very good. You have a brand new car and my superb is250 is 15 years old and I have a service plan for another 3 years and my quote is slightly more monthly than you pay. However MOT is inclusive and a free loan car. How does your wife find the MG5? If I were to go electric (and I stress if) the MG5 would be 2nd on my list after the MG4.

Wheel alignment

I've not heard of this issue but I'd steer clear of that place as those plates shouldn't spin out. Find another place that does 4 wheel alignment. If I remember correctly I paid about either £80 or £140 for full 4 wheel alignment at Lexus Stockport where I go for servicing.
