Hi Kathy and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Sorry I had to laugh at your post. Good of you to admit you were whinging. The plastic trim above the window is probably a wind deflector. Necessary on some cars when the windows are open slightly. Yes I was an advocate of two reversing and two rear fog lights. I do still stand for two rear fog lights however. The fog on the M62 between jncs 22 and 24 demands two rear fog lights. It bothers me seeing cars with only one fog light and most of them are so bright that they dazzle!!! Two medium powered rear fog lights are much more safely visible and without being dazzling. I'm.a professional driver and do most of my driving at night so I know what I'm talking about.

Hi Jason. Its recommended that you get yourself a copy of Techstream. It's 2nd to none as a diagnostic system. 2nd only to what Toyota/Lexus use. Only this will tell you all codes and how to fix them. Your cars issue could be a dodgy alternator on its way out. I had the full Christmas lights dash on my beloved is250 and it was a dying alternator. Not cheap when taken to Lexus but considering I got a free courtesy car for 4 days.

Hi Bilal. Instead of re-greasing the slider pins just get brand new ones. Also wrap some sandpaper around a screwdriver shaft, grit around 240, to clean the holes where the sliders go. I had a quick look yesterday for aftermarket opposed calipers for the is250. Nothing came up but except from America and costing £3.5k but one British firm makes them from billets and at about £240 but they're not is250 specific. Perhaps look online and enquire to firms you find. HEL Performance was the firm I found. Look them up. Who knows you may strike lucky or they'd make them special if you mentioned there would be hundreds of fellow is250 owners would want them too.

Hi Denise and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Audi A5's ? Not a car I've ever liked. What engines in them did you have? The ES300h is a fabulous looking car and according to owners on this forum drives like a dream. I therefore recommend you look in the ES section of the forum and peruse what's been inputted there. Regarding the CVT transmission. When you floor the accelerator pedal you'll notice the revs climb sharply and your rate of road progression not quite as fast as the revs have shot. It could be a little disconcerting But once you've mastered the transmission, which coming from and I'm assuming automatic cars, you'll master very very quickly. You'll notice a serene experience driving the ES once you've mastered the CVT. Once you own the ES you'll wonder why you didn't go Lexus years ago. You won't get a more reliable brand and the service centres are second to none. Enjoy your test drive.

Replacement key
Mr Vlad replied to Japcarsarethebest's topic in Lexus Audio/Video/Electronics/Security
Hi Jason. I'm sure if you have Techstream that you can programme a key yourself. Have you asked this question in the GS section of the forum? Your best bet is to ask in there as this section is basically for radio type subjects. -
225/50/17 Lexus IS300h
Mr Vlad replied to jackdublin's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
300h. SE grade models feature 16-inch alloy wheels and use 205/55R16 91W-sized tyres. Executive Edition, Luxury and Advance models ride on 17-inch alloys and use 225/45R17 tyres. F Sport and Premier grades use 225/40R18 88Y tyres up front and 255/35R18 90Y at the rear.20 May 2015 I've copied and pasted this. I'd forgotten the F sport had a wider tyre. There's no harm going down to 17' But you'll have to have all four tyres the same size and they'll have to be aspect ratio 45 so that the speedo isn't compromised on accuracy. -
Can I buy the 2010 model Rx450h with 300,000 km in Sweden?
Mr Vlad replied to ARPAVANK's topic in New Members Area
Hi Arpavank and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. The RX is a fantastic car and I miss the one I had. I would look in the RX section of this forum and introduce yourself there. What kind of dealer are you looking to buy the particular car you're looking at? Is it a Lexus dealer or a back street dealer or a big dealership? At 300k km I'd be making sure it has at least a good service history and ideally from Lexus. -
Hi Tom and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is and congratulations on getting the is250. With it being a 2012 model it'll be a gen 3 as opposed to a gen 2. What made you go for the gen 3 instead of the gen 2? Which spec car have you got?

Hi Niaz. Are you sure Vertu went bust? I looked them up after seeing something on TV about how they're made. They're still in existence according to Google. They're a French based firm. I fully understand that some folk want to and do fork out a shed load of money for items like mobile phones. I'm just not one of them. There was a time I had more money than I knew what to do with. I spent it on cars and motorbikes. Not on top of the range 'jewellery' (I'll use that word for phones). Where I fekked up on was not buying a house back then.

There's a saying "you get what you pay for". Personally speaking I find anyone spending over a grand for a mobile phone either needs their head testing or have more money than sence or are fashion conscious. Chinese phones. OMG have you seen what you can get on Temu? Blatant copies of Samsung phones. These modern phones have more computing power that what they had to send the first rocket into space. My current phone is the Samsung S22 Ultra. Did I buy new or is it on a plan? No. I bought reconditioned. To be honest I'm disappointed with it. My previous phone the superb Samsung S10 Lite, bought reconditioned years ago, developed a niggle which bugged the sheitte out of me. Later found out I'd messed up the ZoneAlarm Internet security settings. But what got me, I was under the impression the S22 Ultra was a Bigger phone. Not ruddy likely. They're the same size. However the camera wires the floor with the S10 Lite. I use to be a Nokia man till one day I learned that my phone dialled 999 50 times whilst in my pocket. Straight to Samsung after that and I've had them ever since and that's over 30 years. As for longevity of phones. The phone before the S10 Lite was the Note 4. Got that very very soon after they came out, Gid knows when that was, but just last month I stripped it to pieces and off the the phone palace in the sky. That phone just became so slow it was painful. It was my backup phone. As for how a phone feels in one's hand. All phones feel plastic. However I've been using Spigen phone cases and the phone feels like a piece of quality. Nevermind titanium this and diamond encrusted that. That's just posh nonsense.

Funny how these issues are with owners of the i-phone. A phone known for Bluetooth issues. Android however no issues. Just saying. -
This video is entertaining. Not sure educational. The trouble with buying such things from amazon or ebay is that more often than not its the same sellers selling the stuff. The ratings are not actually fake. They're taken from which seller offers amazon more moolah, spondoolicks etc. There was a programme on TV not long ago about such. Unfortunately however you pays your hard earned for goods which either are worth it or not. Most goods are manufactured in China. Some good and some cheap n nasty. So you pays ya money and takes ya chance.

Hi Steve. The Only diagnostic tool you want is Techstream. It's 2nd only to what Toyota/Lexus use in their workshops. From memory when I had the F sport RX450H I never got below 35mpg. I only used E5 and always Millers Petrol Ecomax additive. My driving, as always lol, was with pace. Once when I drove like Miss Daisy I got 48mpg on a run from Rochdale to Leeds. I miss that car 😞

Yes tyre shops hate tyre sealant and I know fir a fact they refuse to deal with a customer whose used it. I speak from the experience of a few friends. The space saver wheel fits all four corners.

Hello Keith and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. I suggest you ask your question in the UX section of the forum. Fellow owners will answer as they'll see your post. -
That's a sad story Stephen. And for those of us born n bred in Manchester I apologise for the way the City I once loved to death has gone to the dogs. As for the carrying of guns as they do in Yank land. OMG how money talks. Its the gun makers themselves who make the laws about firearms not the government. Back in the day I recall seeing idiotic wannabees carrying a gun. I'll never forget one occasion in a pizza shop with my 1st wife a young coloured lad came in. His coat unbuttoned and guess what? the handle of a gun on show. I noticed it and he saw me and I looked him straight in the eye. He shathimself looking scared and ran out. The thing is pay attention to idiotic wannabes. They're the ones who carry a weapon but are scared. Similar with those who exhibit road rage. But as we are now a lot older etc etc we can't react like we once did. What you said to that pillock Stephen is bang on. I've ordered a shirt with wording akin to 'At my age life in prison means nothing' . Luckily as we mature so does our use of words but in the right way and manner. I now hate Manchester with a passion. I hate making deliveries there. I'll only go back there a couple times a year for a meet up of us rockers.

The Teyes does have android auto and the other one if memory serves. I was going to get one this year for mine but not to be unfortunately 😞

Hi Sam. Good you've got back here and settled in your new place. As for infotainment. Teyes CC3 is what you need. The best for your car by far. There's a thread by Ahmed on here which is all you'll need to install.
